Cute lil' tiki-hut place. Â They've got great decorations all over. Â This would be a surfer's dream-come-true. Â They've got pictures of surfers all over the wall, and also programs about surfing playing on the TV. Â Very sacual, very laid-back. Â Went here for lunch, and it was packed with the locals. Â Great food, since it suits the atmosphere.
Review Source:Long Doggers!! ..In a semi-tiki hut type of setting, right across the street from the King Center on Post Road. Easy to find if you are a local, not too bad if you are a tourist willing to venture off of Wickham!! Â This is a great little place! We had our first dinner out of 2009 there. Â There is comfortable inside seating as well as outside seating. Lots of eye candy on the walls, especially if you like surfing, not to mention a few TV sets...
Anyhow.. I had the ribs, which were surprisingly good, considering it's not a BBQ! The wife had a burger. Juicy, tasty and cooked just right! Son had fried clams. crispy and moist inside, not soggy or too darn overcooked. But the best deal in the house was 2 glasses of Merlot. I have no idea what brand it was but it was wonderful, even better at under 4 bucks a glass! The place only serves wine & beer, but that works fine for us. we really enjoyed our meal as well as the servers who were young women with great personalities. It is my understanding that there is entertainment on some evenings. I will find out more on our return, which will be soon.
OOPS!!! I just discovered that this was supposed to be about the Harbor City location, not the Post Road Location....I'm sure that it is just as good!!
Long Doggers is a local joint serving what I consider beach food. Â Hot dogs, burgers, fries, and the salad and veggie burger for you health freaks. Â The hot dogs are something else... Â Huge, and piled with every artery-clogging form of cholesterol (LDL only, of course) you can imagine. Â It's a casual place with outdoor seating and I think it turns into a bar at night.
