Haven't been to a Long Doggers for a long time. WOW, not sure what happened, but not what I remember. Had the fish tacos and was quite disappointing. Very little fish and not sure what kind, sure wasn't Mahi. Service was acceptable, nothing to write home about. Peeked at the kitchen, not bad for dinner rush. Overall was a downer, I miss the old Long Doggers.
Review Source:One of our regular spots. Quick service, good for kids, good food. LOVE the "High Life" hot dog. Foot long, chili, cheese, onions, bacon and jalapenos. Who could ask for more. Their waffle fries are AWESOME - rivaled only by "Doubles Beachside".
Service is usually good. Can't complain. Definitely recommend!
At the beach all day? Hungry? Don't feel like spending a ton of money but you want something tasty AND affordable? Then seriously, go to Longdoggers. This place never disappoints. The food is always good, burgers, dogs, chicken, etc. Longdoggers is a great local Melbourne restaurant that is always a good idea.
Review Source:Enjoyed our hotdogs and beers last night. Â First time I've seen a place that actually had chili and slaw on the menu for a hot dog. Â Up north, that's unheard off and when I'd request it everyone thought I was crazy. Â I was watching some of the other food being prepared and it looked very good. Â I am anxious to get back there and try something else. Â My bartender gave me a little wine tasting since we mentioned I was interested in trying wine, but had no clue which one to try. That was really fun. Â Good place to stop in for a couple of beers.
Review Source:Just a great place to hang out, order some casual beach food and some cold beers. The outside area is perfect, but if it is a little too hot for you, just slip inside the a/c and relax. The chilled peel n' eat shrimp, grilled shrimp skewers, and ahi tuna are all winners. You just can't go wrong here unless you are uptight and hard to please. In that case, just do humanity a favor and go home instead.
Review Source:This is a great spot to enjoy a casual meal before shows/concerts at the King Center. It's right across the street so you don't need to worry about the drive time - you're already there. We love to eat outside and split the "Kahuna Burger". It's seriously huge with drippy cheese and sloppy onions. Thankfully there are extra napkins on the tables.
Review Source:Seriously, last time I was here I didn't even make it to my hotel to check in before I stopped here for lunch. Amazing mahi sandwich, fish and chips and steamed clams. Always fresh and full of great people. I can't recommend it enough. It is a must every time we're down there surfing. Grab a Red Stripe or Primo, plop down at a picnic table and enjoy!
Review Source:Used to go to the one in Indialantic back in the day, looks like they have more than one location now. Â Had a great casual dinner here with family. Â A bunch of people had wings which were good, and I had mahi tacos, which were fantastic and definitely worth ordering again. Â Fun little spot for a cheap meal, quick service, and cold beer.
Review Source:A good place to chill out over some drinks and beach food in a relaxed atmosphere, minus the beach since this Long Doggers is located inland across from Brevard Community College. You can dine inside (dark), where there's a bar and booth & table seating OR dine outside (I prefer) under the covered tropical patio with finished picnic tables and seating at the straw covered bar. There are TVs inside and outside too. On Thursday evenings (6PM-9PM), steel drums live!
Several drink specials are offered (as of 01/2008) including 2-4-1 drafts on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 8PM and 5 bottles of Bud/Bud Light for $10 everyday. Menus are at each table which offer sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, salads, seafood, BBQ, dinner baskets, appetizers, and desserts. The Grilled Mahi Sandwich ($6.95) is excellent, which is served with waffle fries (add $0.95), cole slaw, pickle, & fresh pineapple. The mahi is tender and tasty and can be blackened (my fav!), teriyaki, lemon pepper, Hawaiian, or island jerk. The slice of Key Lime Pie ($2.95) for dessert is good, sweet, tart, & creamy. The service here is pretty good and attentive with refills and reorders on drinks and timely delivery of food. The young waitresses work as a team because I had 3 different waitresses bring out my food and drinks on the last visit.
My other boss in NH loves this place because it's very close to his wife's parents house. He gets pretty hammered up here and can crawl back to the house. Overall, I would give this place 4 STARS for the good food, relaxed atmosphere, & service, but for my boss, I'll add the extra star for the "stumbling distance" factor between this Long Doggers and his in-laws.
