Great find in the olive fields in Corning! Â Had a chicken burrito which was delicious, one of the best, freshest tortillas I have ever had. Also tried a carnitas taco which despite the meat being a bit fatty was still good.
They also have beer but no Mexican coke. The enchiladas plate was also tasty according to my dad.
The dining area is very spacious and they have a big TV. It felt like being inside someone's house. Â The bathrooms were also nice. Â Prices are very inexpensive and service was friendly.
So the owners of this place started a taco truck in town many moons ago, and the food was so good they eventually were able to open up their own restaurant. Â This place serves up great mexican food, and the family that runs it is friendly and awesome. Â I like the regular asada burrito; the vegetarian and whatever the one with cheese and sour cream added (supreme?) are good too.
ProTip: The truck is still open, a few more blocks east on Solano St on the left, on a paved empty lot. Â I think the burritos taste better here, don't know why. Â Ask for jalapenos on the side (for free).
Four stars for the restaurant/drive thru, five for the truck.
Great food and attentive service. Came here on my way back home from Oregon and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Obviously very fresh ingredients, you have a large selection of meat to choose from for your burritos, which are fairly well priced for the quality and quantity of what you get. You get one free basket of chips and afterwards have to pay a dollar or so for another one.
I had the shredded beef burrito and the meat was very tender and good, and the pinto beans were great, obviously not from a can. My sister had the vegetarian burrito and seemed about as pleased with her food as I was- always a plus. Service was good and the resturaunt and it's bathrooms were very clean and spacious. It's not fancy or anything, but for a taco shop it's pretty nice. The bathrooms, on the other hand, are really fancy. We're talking nicely tiled walls here. When I came here they were playing Soccer on the widescreen LCD TV; not really my thing but hey man, I can't complain.
Overall, very good food for the area. We weren't really expecting to find anything decent and this surprised all of us. I would definitely come back if I were cruising through the area again.
Drove down the street trying to find somewhere to eat. Â Saw sign in nondescript building and pulled in. Â Aroma when we walked in told us that we had a winner. Â Had huge macho burrito for $6. Â Kids enjoyed quesadilla and taquitos. Â Large portions. Â Good, authentic food. Â Order at counter and they bring food to table. Â Delivered yummy chips and salsa when you sit down. We didn't know how to order more. Â Knew we had found THE local spot when workers started filling up the tables and the line stretched to the door. Â Great find.
