i stopped here on Saturday based on the high rating by Yelp reviewers & they got it right.  Quality, authentic Mexican food with plenty of choices and a number of specials.

I had the Aztec Burrito which is made with chirizo, cactus, bell peppers and onions which was delicious and plenty filing. Chips and salsa unpon being seated and a very pleasant server made for a perfect choice to eat when travelling thru Goshen.

Count me in as a well-fed and satisfied customer.

I don't believe my previous review of Los Primos did them justice. I have been back countless times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The more I explore the menu the happier I am with their gastronomic offerings. There is the standard taqueria offering but even the depth of the choices there-within surpass the other local joints. Steamed and stewed beef is usually only available on weekends and lamb is incredibly hard to come by if at all. Guess what Los Primos offers both all the time not to even mention the cabeza(cow cheeks) that is worth falling in love with over and over again every time it's ordered and consumed. Now allow us to venture in to the Cuban selections like La Ropa Vieja platter or the Pollo Cubano which are always up to par if not going for eagle. Given our area lacks any true Cuban restaurants Los Primos' offerings are the best  to be found in the Michiana area. How can someone not love fried plantains and bananas once they've been tried. With all the above being said you would thing I could not heap anymore praise upon this place but, guess what? I am not close to being done. The special burrito menu and other non traditional items are where Chef Lopez(not directly associated with the man, it's on the sign) truly begins to stretch his legs. Chorizo, nopales, and serrano chiles all in a burrito? Check! Goat with ranchera sauce burrito? You bet your sweet ass it is on the menu. I hope my point here is getting made. The man has taken Mexican staples and reimagined them. The Swiss enchiladas remain one of my favorite indulgences here. Hell, if you want to take your kids here he even has a chicken nugget burrito. There are plenty of good Mexican places in Chicago but I have yet to find one that can stray from the traditional and have it turn out so well. The positives consistently outweigh the few negatives(there are rarely any in a visit) of Los Primos and in all my travels I have never come upon a place that has consistently impressed me everytime. No matter where I go and what I am doing I will always have to come home for the best Mexican food I have ever had.

I am often excited about going out to eat. I am rarely as excited when I finish. Los Primos had me more excited at the end than when I started. :D I have been told that there is no place in Goshen that could compete with the Mexican food in Chicago. I would offer that Los Primos may be it. They have a much more diverse menu than most other Mexican places though I have not yet strayed from the typical taqueria fare. That is because it is almost a crime to pass up their tacos al pastor. This pastor the way it is meant to taste. It has depth of flavor. It is cooked long enough to develop the charred and caramelized flavors characteristic of the dish. Also, it has pineapple chunks mixed in with the meat. Most restaurants settle for pineapple juice or nothing at all. These things are seriously delicious!

Their steak tacos were also cooked appropriately. I believe Los Primos cooks much of their meats at the time of order. Many other places will pre-cook the asada and then warm your tortillas and assemble at the time of order. I do not know what the prep process at Los Primos is, but it takes longer to get your food than some other places and the results are evident.

I have been to Los Primos twice before, but this time the quality had been seriously stepped up. I hope it is permanent (or I would have to alter this glowing review...). The salsa is not overly impressive, but if you are going there for chips then you are missing the point to begin with. Give this place a try. It is a keeper.

I've recent been looking for a good Mexican restaurant, and I think I've finally found a keeper.  This place is small, and can be easy to miss, but as soon as I walked in the door, my thought was "Wow, this place smells delicious."

There aren't a whole lot of seats, maybe ten tables or so, but it also wasn't incredibly busy, so no big deal.  I ordered a chimichanga and sweet tea and later ordered some fried plantains.  Everything (except the iced tea) came out very hot and was very tasty.  The plantains could have probably used a little powdered sugar, but all in all were very tasty.

This is of course a first impression, but I'll definitely be going back to try other things.  Among them, the Horchata looked very good, and on Friday/Saturday there is a special for menudo which I'd like to try.

Also, as a bonus, the sweet tea was served with fresh lime which was a nice touch and added flavor.

Aside from a wonderful $1 taco special on Tuesday night, Los Primos offers a delicious take on ropas viejas Cubano ($8.50 and enough to feed two): rice, black beans, shredded beef and fried bananas with your choice of flour or corn tortillas and a fresh, tasty salsa.
