Lost Marsh Restaurant

My mom and I ate here and had calamari and tiramisu.  The food and service was nice and friendly.  The entertainment of television, golf course scenery, and balcony view from inside is a nice chance to enjoy a meal elegantly.

Although the facility was very nice with view. The service was not on par by any means.  I have golfed at this course a few times but have yet to eat in the newly remodeled clubhouse.  Unfortunately, my experience was not that great. My guest and I ordered the filet mignon, which was 22$ with no side so we also ordered the double baked potato which also 5$...our waitress seemed to be working some banquet function while also trying to juggle our table in the dining area. Needless to say, the server was horrible I never received a glass of water...and debated walking up to the bar to get a second drink. Filet was served on top of a bed of lettuce as a garnishment which was odd. I would recommend any couple ready to spend 80-100$ on a steak meal find a different local location. Cheers!

My husband, my 2 year-old, and I went to Lost Marsh for a Sunday lunch.  We arrived at 11:15 AM and it didn't look like the restaurant was open.  After about 3 or 4 minutes someone appeared and sat us at a table.  The view is fantastic.  It was a little strange to be the only diners in a restaurant.  There was a baby or bridal shower going on in a party room there too, but we were it in the dining room.  We were seated at 11:30, it was about 11:50 by time our salads and apps. came out.  Excellent tomato mozz. salad, slow service.  Not the waiter's fault, he was attentive and kept our drinks filled.  Our meals came out at about 12:10PM, again kind of slow service...still the only people in the restaurant!  I had the cheese ravioli and my husband had the Kobe burger.  Ravioli was very good, lots of crispy melted cheese!  The burger was over cooked from my husband's request of medium rare, but he said it was a great burger.  No kids menu, but my 2 year old liked the fries and calamari.

-View is great
-Good tasting food
-Couches in lady's restroom good for nursing, I'm no longer nursing, but as a Mom I look for this.
-Changing table in handicap stall.
-Polite staff

Cons
-Slow service from kitchen!  
-A little expensive for area!
-No kids menu!  Couldn't make a grilled cheese...

This place is good if Keith's in Whiting is closed.  If Keith's was open we would have gone there!
