As far as places to get an adult beverage in the area, this has to be near or at the top. The bartenders are incredibly friendly, the prices are quite fair, and the selection is very good. Their speciality martini list is pretty neat, and I have tried a few now and never been disappointed. I mean, how can anyone hate a cookie dough martini?
Drink specials can be good. Trivia night on Tuesday seems to be a huge hit with a decent payout (especially for the $0 buy in). The interior is chill but not pretentious in the slightest. The food is an interesting mix between Indian and typical bar food.
All in all, a cool place.
When it comes to night life in St. Mary's County, there was definitely a lack of class before the Lounge at Bollywood was opened. Â There were the typical "hole-in-the-wall" bars, where the regulars wear camo and fights are prevalent. Â The lounge has, however, changed that tremendously, and set a new standard for the area.
"The Lounge" draws an eclectic mix of patrons, though the majority of the crowd comes from what can be described as the "young professionals" category. Â On any given day, patrons can be seen coming in with colleagues and friends to unwind after a difficult day. Â These same patrons can also be seen singing their hearts out during Bollywood's monthly karaoke night, or dancing the night away at any of the several events that are so frequently held (Salsa Night and Little Black Dress Parties always draw an amazing crowd).
The Lounge offers an assortment of craft beers on tap, while simultaneously sticking with the tried and true bottled domestics. Â The beer selection is further complimented by a wide variety of unique martinis, amazing wines and top-shelf liquor, as well as an array of delicious Indian dishes (my personal recommendations are the Mango Chicken and the Hummus Wrap).
The food, atmosphere, and alcohol selection are all tied together with a fun and friendly staff; Cat and Joey are two of the best bartenders in the area, and Sunny (the owner) can be seen rubbing elbows with all those who take the time to stop in, especially if it is your first time.
In short, I cannot think of a better place in the area to spend my time. Â It has become my go-to spot, whether I am looking to have a beer after work or spend a night out with friends. Â Take a few moments to stop in, and you'll see exactly what I am talking about.
Great place to hang out and just have fun. Â Fantastic food, incredible drinks, and welcoming staff. Â I moved to the area not knowing anyone, and wanted to find a nice place to hang out that wasn't a "bar." Â I now find myself going to the lounge a couple times a week! Â Made some great friends, and try a different drink each time.
Review Source:The atmosphere is really nice as the name of the place suggests, the lounge is different. I haven't been anywhere else like it in the county. The staff is always pleasant. The drinks are good, but not the best in the area. I wish I could give 3.5 stars due to the food, but the place is a lounge so it earns its 4 starts. They never have the lentil dish on the menu and I've asked on over 7 different occasions. The cauliflower dish is AMAZING, but the rest of the food has been ok. I would recommend for the atmosphere and the drinks. If you're looking for great food, it could be better.
