I've always wanted to try this place, I've lived in the area for 6 years and never visited. Â I would have liked to rate this 4 stars but the service was very slow, and it wasn't even a weekend! Â The bar and restaurant were not full to the max, there were some tables occupied but not a lot. Â The service was super slow from the get go, wait to get menus, wait to get waited on, wait and wait for food, wait and wait for refills, wait to get boxes for take home, wait to get the check, wait to get the credit card processed, all of which took longer than needed since the place was practically emptying out as we were getting ready to leave. Â
The food however was great, very reasonably priced, great for families, its okay if your kid is loud in this place because it is loud anyways. Â Our server was super nice even though service took too long. Â And it was a cheap dinner with good food.
I would probably go again and hope the service was quick the next time, if it turns out to be I will update my review to reflect it.
Beautiful view by the way, right on the pond, and they have an ice cream window on other side.
We live in the neighborhood near the Lucky Dawg and often use their excellent take out service. Â Reasonably priced, tasty food and quick service mark this as a great place to grab a quick bite. Â The owners have done a great job converting an old run down bar/restaurant into someplace I'm not ashamed to bring my family. Â Also the ice cream in the spring, summer and fall is really good!
Review Source:Fried pickles are great when you are craving something salty- I LOVE the prime rib special on the weekends- $9.99 for a huge piece of meat with 2 sides. Â (Bigger plate or less au jus for the prime rib though please! Tough to cut without spashing) Drinks are great and it's a fun little dive. Â
Have few issues- only major one was that I've got picky eaters in my family and one will not eat mozzarella cheese- (too stringy) and we ordered a Steak and Cheeze calzone- (which is great) but with american cheese ONLY and it came out with mozzerella cheese anyway. Â We let the waitress know and she asked the cook who insisted it was American. Â It was definitely too stringy for American. Â Waitress was great about everything though! :)
It's a great little dive- give it a try if you like the bar scene.
Steak tips were delish... the pizza came out a little on the burnt side but not enough to complain about... the owner stopped by and said he was having a new one cooked for us to take home... when I said that he didn't have to do that cause it was fine, he replied with "I want to". Good food and great customer service... will go back for sure. Oh yeah... fried pickles...yum
Review Source:A popular place for bikers and non bikers with plenty of parking space. I've been here several times over the past 10 months and find the prices ,quality of food and service very good and I've never had a waitress ask for a tip although they always get one.
When the season is in you will find a nice eat out ice cream shoppe behind the tavern. Â This is a nice stop. Â Give it a try.
There buffalo wings are always plentiful and come in different heat levels. They use good blue cheese dressing which is always a plus. I haven't tried much else there but I like their boneless wings so much that I propably will not try anything else either. Worth stopping by if you are in the area.
Review Source:This place is located minutes from my parents house and they love going. Their $10.99 steak dinner lures them in every time.
As far as I know this place has only been open a few months and has become a family favorite with good reason. Upon entering, you walk into the bar area which is nicely done and has a few tv's for all your sports watching needs.
A few steps and you're in the dining room. The dining room is very open so you're not sitting too close to other parties. The walls are adorned with Boston sports memorabilia. The only problem I have with the layout is that it is mostly concrete and conversations echo terribly.
Our waitress was very attentive and helpful with my grandfathers order - he can be pretty picky. She kept checking on us to make sure that we were okay and had everything we needed.
The menu was your typical bar menu. However, I was in heaven when I saw that they had about 10 different burgers on the menu. The prices were great. Our food came out quickly and was delicious.
Dinner for the 4 of us - which included two steaks (with two sides) and two burgers came to around $40. A total steal.
I hope this place does really well and stays open for a long time! Best of luck to them!
We ar here at least once a week! The New place is amazingly simple and good! Affordable & Satisfying! My favorite is the Fish Sandwich- I am from the Cape and this is one of the best piece of fried fish around! I live like 2 minutes from Lucky Dawg and Thank God every day that Hosies is GONE and Karen & her husband started this venture! The Buffalo Wings are so yummy too! Doone perfectly....you know sometimes people screw up simple food and Lucky Dawg hits a home run every time! The service is great too, every time we have had really friendly down to earth service! Visit now & visit often! You won't be dissapointed- go during week night if you do not like a big crowd...The only thing better would be to serve breakfast!
Review Source:I recently visited restaurant for the first time. Â There was a large party going on in one of the rooms BUT the service was great. Â The Lucky Dawg has risen from the old Hoseys. Â As another reviewer stated, the owners have put a lot of effort into the new place. Â It's friendly and "local". Â During the day you can definitely feel comfortable brining your family. Â The menu is pub food. Â The service is good and there is plenty of flat panel TVs to watch sporting events. Â Our waitress recommended the fried pickles. You have to try them. Lucky Dawg offer takeout off the full menu. Â There is an ice cream walk up but I think it's seasonal. Â Also there are picnic tables out back for the warmer months if you want to eat outside.
