I gave two stars just for the beer selection which was pretty wide. I had food here one other time and it was OK. Stopped in for a meal today and ended up only having one beer. Two bartenders, one friendly, one rude. No happy hour for drinks, only one food item on special. I was going to order food until I saw the kitchen help. Grunge is OK if you are in the band, not cooking my food. I think the rude bartender even had a wad of tobacco in his mouth. So one beer was it for me, not cheap but reasonable for an import at a bar. Went to pay with my credit card, NO Dice. They won't take a card for under ten dollars. Total BS. Friendly bartender kept saying "just have another beer" like that would make everything OK. I did have another one and some food, but not at the lucky star.

"First time lunch meal + beers. This was the absolute best burger (boursin and jalapeno) I've had in years. Must try."

Nifty little bar/lounge/restaurant in cute downtown Front Royal.  This seems like a great place to hang out, drink beer, and watch a band.  The beer selection is very large -- I think they have about 100 beers.  Definitely so many that they have to divide the beers into categories on a menu.

We went to eat dinner, however, not to hang out.  Food was okay, and the prices were right.  Our waitress was very nice.  We both liked the big pretzel and boursin cheese.
Definitely eat that if you're there for drinks!  My husband liked his bbq bacon cheeseburger.  All I was in the mood for was grilled cheese and soup.  These were "meh".  The grilled cheese tried hard to be something it need not be -- there's no need to put cumin on grilled cheese, nor do you have to put it on a croissant instead of plain wheat bread!  But if I was feeling better, I probably would have ordered something like what he had and enjoyed it.

I've had better!! The food was mediocre, the dining area was right next to the bar  and very very small tight quarters, the live band was way too loud for 5pm. Not happy with the place at all. The food took too long to get to my table and believe it or not the alcohol drink I ordered was made completely wrong. Will not be going back there again.

This was one of the worst dining experiences I ever had. The waitstaff was extremely rude (and I've waited tables before so I always try to cut people slack). The waitress refused to serve me alcohol (I just turned 24) because I still have a vertical drivers license (which is completely valid and doesn't expire for another year) and she refused to look at any other legit IDs I had. She was so incredibly rude the rest of the night.

Our food took forever, poor waitstaff, really terrible experience. I know there's not a lot out in that area, but I wouldn't send anyone there.

The food isn't good. The stout - cheddar soup, for instance, is inedible.

Let me preface my review by stating that I am a little biased as I visit the bar quite often and love the staff. It is the only place in Front Royal that is anywhere close to a "real bar" and has a full bar and great beer selection. Lucky Star Lounge also has live entertainment throughout the week.

With that said, I've had a couple of meals here that were just OK. So, we didn't eat there often. But recently we had a guest staying with us who was a vegetarian and good veggie restaurants are few and far between in Front Royal. So, I punted and took him to Lucky Star as they have a pretty extensive vegetarian menu. I am not a vegetarian, so for the first meal I ordered the special - pulled pork BBQ sandwich. It was REALLY good. I mean, REALLY good. And I know good BBQ. It was so good in fact that when we went there a second time, I begged them to make more BBQ for me, but unfortunately they were out. Instead, I had the hot ham and brie sandwich with honey mustard and it was very, very good. The service is always fantastic and the wait staff is very friendly and accommodating.

So if you are rolling through Front Royal and are looking for a place to get a good beer, great meal and maybe watch a little TV - check out Lucky Star Lounge.

Place if very local as one would expect for a small town. Big supporter of local live music. Good food, tends to be healthier offerings, plenty of libations to choose from, cozy atmosphere. I have been several times now and it keeps getting better. The only minus recently was wait staff service was inexcusably rude and poor. Have not had that problem before so will attribute to one bad apple. Don't let it spoil the bunch LS!
