Stopped in here the day before St. Patrick's Day (St. Patrick's Day fell on a Sunday this year) to enjoy some adult beverages and music. I understand that given the day the normal routine had been disrupted. We had to go into another part of the bar to order from a very limited menu; we ordered two small Shepard's pies. They seemed to be nothing more then yesterday's beef stew with a scoop of mashed potatoes on top. I have most definitely had better.
The bar itself was nice but not an Irish bar. It was like any other bar with the addition of some Irish proverbs painted on the walls and a better selection of Irish beers. The place was missing the traditional "snug". If you have been to an Irish bar you will know that this is a small private room with in the bar.
The band for the evening was not very good. They were suppose to start at 7:00 PM so we arrived early to assure we had a spot from which to enjoy the band. They started a half hour late, the sound was horrible, and they did not finish the first three songs started (due to the poor sound). When the sound issue was corrected the band attempted to sing an Irish song (Black Velvet Band) but started it in the 3rd verse completely skipping over the first two which set up the rest of the song.
Now I don't hold the quality of the band against the pub, but you think they would try to get a top notch band for the festivities on an evening of St. Patrick's Day weekend.
The place is worth a stop in just for the selection of beers and I will be going back to see what a normal day is like there.

I wish I could give Lyons more stars, I really do.  I like the place.  It was non-smoking before the new laws took effect.  Nice owners.  Great selection of beers.  Live music many weekends.  Problem is, it's getting too successful.  Last time we were there was after an event at the high school.  The place was jammed.  At least 100 people in there.  Loud.  Just the two behind the bar and a hapless waitress trying her best to go from table to table.  Because of the crush, the owners focused on their regular clientele and us not so regular folks were left wanting.  After 15 minutes at the bar trying to get service, we had to leave.  Which is sad, because it's the only bar in town that I'll go to.

By far the best pub in Watertown!  Lyons actually looks and feels like an Irish pub.  There are many free bar games available to play while enjoying a beer or other cocktail.  The woodwork is phenomenal, a lot of great detail in this place.  The live music on the weekends is definitely a plus!  The owners are fantastic people, definitely worth getting to know them and learn a little bit about the history of the building, you will be surprised!  Overall, a great place to hang out and enjoy a good beer.  Very highly recommended!
