This place has the best bbq in Kentucky. Â I have eaten at many bbq joints and this one is the best. Â I had the pulled pork. Â It was moist with a great smoke flavor. Â The hot bbq sauce is about the best that I've had in Kentucky. Â I also had the green beans and the fried potatoes. Â They were excellent, just like my mother and grandmother used to cook. Â Three of us ate for under $25. Â They don't take credit cards. Â That is the only drawback to this great restaurant.
Review Source:Great hole-in-the-wall place with amazing and affordable food. Â We stumbled on it during vacation after our first choice, a bbq joint down the street, had been closed due to a fire. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful (although they didn't know the difference between prime rib and spare ribs). Service was quick and the best southern food we've had him a long time!
Review Source:I ate here while on vacation and am glad this place is not near my house because I would not be able to drive by this place and not stop in! Â The prices are more than reasonable. Â The waitress was really sweet and patiently answered my questions about what in the world chess pie was (it is really tasty!). Â
All the food I had was good but I have to say the highlight for me was the cornbread. Â They cook it on the griddle and I had never had it that way before. Â I have no idea why everyone isn't doing this - it tastes so much better! Â
If I had more time in the area I would have loved to come back. Â There was a baked potato on the menu that had pulled pork listed as a topping. Â I saw one being brought out to another table and it looked really good!
This is an amazing little place...Staff very friendly the BBQ was awesome!  Try the loaded baked potato, with pulled pork as a topping.  Coleslaw and cornbread were also very good!...Also on the menu  smoked turkey, chicken.
Definitely worth a detour from I65 and fast food options!
My wife and I were on a tour of Kentucky and trying to stay off the interstate when, as we took the two-lane blacktop, we came to Uno, Kentucky, which I guess has a mailing address of Horse Cave, KY.
We had wanted to get some authentic BBQ, and the smoker was out on the sidewalk in front of Mama Lou's! Â
Casual is an understatement. Â We were served on styrofoam plates and cups, but it was the best BBQ we'd ever had, and the prices were so low we felt guilty. Â I had the brisket and my wife had the ribs. Â Sides were great too, but we didn't have room left for the pie! Â BTW, these dinner were only about $7 each. Â
We found the local patrons to be friendly and got a good tip on the local lodging situation from one. Â Service is quick and friendly too. Â As long as you don't need a white tablecloth and china, this is the place to stop in Uno.
this place was great! Â my friends and i were on a road trip through KY and saw a review for this place. Â it's a bit out of the way but well worth the detour. Â the food was incredible. Â run by a really sweet couple whose dream it was to open up a restaurant, it has a really quaint feel and everyone there is super-nice. Â LOVED it!
