food poisoning.
cold, uncooked food
dirty place really dirty
over priced menu
I cant begin to tell you how bad this place is. Â When you enter the restaurant the front window is broken. Someone has punched a hole in the wall as you enter. Â The cigarette smell from the bar next door is overwhelming. Â The service was so slow it was ridiculous. Our chow mien dish was undercooked, the beef was cold, the fried rice was clumped together and hard.
DON'T BOTHER EATING HERE.
I love the location for this! It's at the Airport so you can see all the private owned planes and helicopters come in and out. Â I hope your not in a rush though because the service is kind of slow. Â Apart from that the place is designed traditionally which is rare to find now a days. Â We were seated right along the window for the fantastic view! What I ordered:
Chicken Fried Rice 7.50 and added Shrimp 2.00
Eggs Rolls 4.95 (4) Great Flavor!
Pene Colada (Yes that is how they spell it haha!) 6.00
Despite my cup never being refilled the waitress was nice just busy and You even get complimentary tea when you are seated. Â The food was good the view is the mark that sets this place apart from others. I adored the Chinese horoscopes on the table I haven't seen them since I was a kid so chuckled when it seemed my Chinese Zodiac was true haha! Â I enjoyed!
We really love this place. Every time we come here, we just leave in the best mood.
We always do one of the family combos because it's such a great deal. Â Apps (paper wrapped chicken, skewers, fried shrimp, egg rolls), Soup (your choice), Fried Rice, and an Entree for like 15 bucks/person (or less depending on which deal you choose).
We love the beef skewers because they come out on this fire pit thingy that is just really cool. The fried rice is DELICIOUS. All the entrees we've tried have been excellent, but my fave is the cashew chicken.
Also, it's a cool, little tourist attraction because you get a view of the airport and will prob see a couple planes take off!
We did not go in but ordered to have it delivered to your hotel.
My husband use to be a chef and we just can't say enough about their food,
The chef must be from the islands because the food had such a distinct island flavor, it was delicious my husband had to call and let them know what a great job they did.
I ordered the Fried rice and it was made just as I myself would have made it. We had the Hot and Sour soup, just wonderful just like like it use to be made years ago in the valley, and bbq pork was delicious.
I would highly recommend this place.
Go and see for yourself or order to go or delivered.
Fabulous food!
Wow, what a dump...we should've walked out, but there were lots of 5 stars from you, my fellow yelpers, that i felt compelled to stay. Â We thought we scored it big by getting a large window facing the airport...my kids were sure we'd see all kinds of planes. Â What we saw was all kinds of drunks!! Â The bar next door has an outside patio in front of these windows, so all we saw were drunk, smoking people. Â Really, we should've left.
The service was slow. Â The prices high. Â The portions meager. Â The food itself was ok. Â The best thing we had was the shrimp chow mein...vastly superior to the chicken chow mein. Â The orange chicken was more just sauced dry chicken. Â The BBQ pork egg foo young was just egg foo young (lacking in veggies and crispyness) w/sauce and several small chopped pieces of pork w/lots of bones. Â
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone...except to recommend they pass it by.
This restaurant was absolutely disgusting!! the service was horrible it took about 10 mins. to get our drink order and it wasn't even that busy..we had the appetizer sampler 1 out of the 5 things on there was decent.fried rice was the worst i've ever seen & tasted..and afterwards my boyfriend & I had the worst stomach ache...don't waste your money!!!!! panda express is a million times better and thats not sayin much
Review Source:Myself and my wife were originally going to visit the Barnstorm Cafe, a restaurant next door, unfortunately it was closed. Without any recommendation we decided to check out the restaurant next door, Mandarin Garden (Manager Barry).
It was the best, unexpected, meal I've had in a long time. If you're the kind of person that wants every dollar you spend to go a long way, Mandarin Gard is your kinda place. Our waiters name was Jack (this guy seriously rocks). He gets the job done!!! You probably won't get into a long conversation with the guy... but he's very efficient.
What really put this place over the top was the presentation of food. With every combination dinner meal (A, B, C, D) you get a good selection of appetizers (no extra charge). I won't ruin the surprise... but it involves fire and shish kabob. Warning: Don't get too full on the appetizers, that was our mistake. The two of us were floored when we realized that we were full even before we got our meal.
We saved our meal and ate it for dinner the next night. It's definately enough for two full meals... We payed $34 + TIP for this meal. Worth every penny.
If you're not much of a hardcore alcohol drinker, try the Scorpion. It's almost a tropical fruit drink (don't ask me what's in it). Â It comes in a oddly shaped shell glass. The table next to us recommended it. They got the scorpion (for 6) the oddly shaped shell glass had 6 straws and took up half the table... Well worth it.
If you're ever in the neighborhood and want an excellent Chinese dinner. Check out Mandarin Garden, say hello to Jack for me.
