This is the place where we go for subs and good Italian dishes. Portions are large and can be shared between two people easily. Staff is great! Prices are a little more than Tonys down the street, but are well worth it. Only bad thing is they are not open on Sundays, but we will survive.

Marco's is a no frills restaurant with a pleasant staff located in a small strip mall. By no frills I mean they give you paper plates on which to share your pizza and the salad dressing comes in a foil packet. http://www.yelp.com/biz_… Oh and if memory serves me right, they don't serve alcohol.

I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce, which was served with a salad and garlic bread. http://www.yelp.com/biz_… The garlic bread was great. I would have liked some more depth to the meat sauce, it was fine, but could have used a few more herbs and spices. My noodles were a bit overdone for my taste and weren't drained well enough. But in the end, it fit my need for spaghetti and meat sauce, the portion was huge, and I ate my leftovers the next day.

I'm giving Marco's 3 stars because the staff was friendly, the garlic bread was garlicy, and my friend loved her pizza. Friends and I stopped here because it was across the street from our hotel. My friends were running the JFK 50 miler the next day and needed some carbs. If I were back in the area, I'd go back for the bread, to try the pizza, and to support a local restaurant.

Friendly staff and owner. Our new local pizza shop. Best Stromboli around and the cheapest price. Best pizza in the area as well. We only ever have pizza and Stromboli, so I don't know about their other menu items, but the subs look good.

Marco's has the best pizza in town...seriously. I had been getting my pies from other nearby pizza places but my neighbor told me about Marco's.

WOW. Very New York! Excellent flavor and not too greasy.

The subs are not as good as the pizza.

I am a huge fan of Marco's. The pizza is very flavorful, even cheese pizza. I have found other local pizza to be a bit bland. I may be grading on a bit of a curve, as Hagerstown is not known for culinary jewels, but regardless, I have thoroughly enjoyed dining at Marcos and recommend it.

this has turned out to be one of our twice weekly stops. Nice food, quick and efficient. Very friendly staff, owner present frequently. Is a nice family place. I love the chicken steak sub (with some Worcestershire sauce yum) with grilled green peppers and onions,

would give 5 if the sauce had more spices, needs italian seasoning, basil garlic, etc too plain from my family sauce recipe.

We dined at Macro's for lunch yesterday. We stopped in because we'd heard that it was recently opened by Marcello, who'd once owned Rocky's Pizza near Amber Meadows in Frederick.

The rumor was true. Marcello and his uncle from Rocky's were there.

Macro's is not a fine Italian restaurant. It is a pizzeria straight out of the New York tri-state area.

The pizza (neapolitan) was near perfect (the sauce has been sweetened slightly to align with Maryland tastes). The crust was thin, but had great texture and substance (like a soft leather) that can be folded to eat without cracking or going limp. The flavor was outstanding as well.

We also had an order of spaghetti and meat sauce, cheese fries (with bacon), ham and cheese sandwich, and garlic bread. The portions were large and the food had good flavor, but they paled in comparison to the pizza.

Yummo ~ HUGE slices of pizza! Delicious and loaded and screamin hot!

BLT is a bit high at $4.95 but also loaded, this isn't some skimpy sandwich!

We hit this place for lunch often! I'll update as we keep up the taste testing!
