Maria's House of Pancakes

Great pit stop on the Chicago - Ohio trek. Top notch home style breakfast food with efficient, friendly service. Love the pancakes served with real butter. Omelettes are huge and fluffy. Oh and fresh squeezed OJ! Avoid the chains and stop in here. Yes the decor is pretty awful but who cares.

Big menu selection. Breakfast lunch or dinner all good. Be sure to try the chicken enchilada soup. If you like picante ask for their fresh made house hot sauce. Muy bueno. Giovanni & waitress's very nice. Large portions. I like the 5 egg omellette, but if you are more of a grazer the fruit salad plate looks appealing.

This place has HUGE portions.  Three of us ordered the fried fish platter and I am pretty sure we each received two whole fish along with fries etc.  Waitress was very friendly and the service was outstanding.

The menu was also much more than breakfast stuff.  They had Italian and Greek sections of the nearly ten page menu.

Definitely worth a try.....
