Definitely recommended! To be honest, I was leery at first because I live in the area and the parking lot never seems full.  But I gave it a try with a friend and it was awesome.  Our waiter was super friendly and the food was very good.  I started with the antipast salad and then tried a pasta special for my entree. It was all very good! My favorite part about my experience was that the waiter waited until we were almost done with our salads before he requested the entrees be made. I feel like no one EVER does this anymore! Restaurants are always trying to get all your food out super fast and usually u have to rush through a third of my salad and then the main course arrives.  Needless to say our waiter got a nice tip for considering timing.  If you go I recommend you try a special, an keep in Ming their portions (even salads) are very generous.

We did not try the pizza, but it looked delicious. Food was pretty good, but the carpet in the dining room was really gross (-1 star).

Ate here last night. Looking for a nice romantic dinner with the wife. When we arrived, the place was empty except for one large group (8) along the back wall. They placed us at a tiny two seat table right next to the crowd. Was not happy as the group was loud. Ordered two apps (calamari & clams casino) calamari was very good and fresh, casino was average. House salads had a nice variety and a good choice of dressings. For the main course, wife ordered the pork tenderloin special and I got the shrimp scampi. The pork was tough, dry and over cooked, but the scampi was superb!

Would have given a higher rating but the carpet really was disgusting!

Been there a couple of times for dinner and it was pretty good. Thought we would try "wing night" the day before thanksgiving.
Don't bother!! The four of us that went are not strangers to the wing thing, this was just not good. Fire the chef and get someone in there that knows what their doing.

I have been there several times for their pizza, it's very good.  Great service and good food quality.  I will be there again for sure.

We sat in the dining room area which had a warm, homey feel to it.  Starting off. The bread was warm and fluffy, so good we had a second round. The French onion soup rivals any that I have had and the greek salad was exemplary as well. While the chicken pesto pizza was good, I tried a slice of my friend's bacon, bell pepper, and onion pizza and it was amazing. The dough was thin yet fluffy. Not crunchy. And the sauce had a delicious roasted tomato flavor.

Service was decent but refills on soda aren't free. Seems like a theme for Connecticut.

This is one of those restaurants that rates about average in New Milford.  Frankly there are too many Italian restaurants to begin with.  So the food better be above average to keep a crowd happy.

On a positive note the atmosphere is really nice and comfortable.  Family dining is a bit expensive for dinner and cocktails.  The pasta was a hit with the kids.

I would rather have seen a summer soup on the menu than Broccoli soup, but it was decent.  The dinner was a let down, food was average.  11.00 for a burger & fries is too much in my estimation.  Calzone was dry, but that is to be expected.

I'll keep my cash in my pocket and try another place.  Give it 2 thumbs up.

The pizza is to die for, of its type. Best around and great for take-out. Excellent thin crust and tasty toppings. Dinner menu is good as well, and service is friendly. Nice!

This spot is a few miles north of the green / downtown area in New Milford.  Matteo`s serves pizza and italian fare in a nice setting.  When I have popped in here on weekday lunches, it has been slow.  They do not even seem to have more than one hostess/waiter/bartender on during this time.  Which is strange, even if there are not a lot of patrons.
Food here is pretty good, I have had eggplant and chicken parm.  The pizza also looked good...might have to stop in for it sometime.

Matteo's, the current savior of New Milford pizza! A long time New Milford resident, I've seen (and tasted) most of the bad pizza that's crossed our borders...  Matteo's is convenient for the northern portion of town, so that we don't have to drive to Italia Mia to get a respectable pie.  Matteo's is also reasonably priced, unlike a competitor up 202N a few miles...
Great thin crust pizza, many gourmet pizzas that are incredible (I'm a fan of the margherita).  Matteo's is a must try for any New Milford resident that's tired of the same old restaurants or driving out of town to find good pizza!!!
The updated bar and dining area are a nice, quiet, clean, comfortable.  The bar is small and yet they still have two TVs for your sports viewing pleasure.
Matteo's, thank you for bringing respect to New Milford dining.
