Very disappointing lunch buffet with dry overcooked roasted chicen, flavorless carnitas and under seasoned but nicely cooked tilapia. To be fair, i did not sample the taco station. For some reason, it was positioned on the other side of the dessert tray. I wondered if the chef or manager ever tasted the food...

A friend and I had never been here and wanted to see how it was for ourselves. Our visit was very short. We walked in and it was VERY noisey. There was a live roaming mariachi band playing. They were so loud you had to yell to hear each other. The hostess informed us that they always play. So we turn around and went elsewhere. It's a shame, I never found out how the food was. This is not a relaxing place to go for dinner.

This. Place. Is. Horrible. Where do I even begin?  They had one poor server wait on our large group of 15 for a work function, so it wasn't all her fault.  She was very sweet, actually, but clearly overwhelmed.

My friend ordered a vodka cranberry and said it didn't taste like anything. I tried it and it didn't even taste like cranberry juice, but rather dirty water with red food coloring. She asked for it to be replaced, only to get the same dreadful thing. I asked for my margarita to be blended, but it looked more like a margarita on the teeny tiny rocks. I couldn't enjoy each sip because I had to eat the ice every time.

Now for the food (sigh): my coworker and I ordered buffalo wings and ceviche to split. She ordered the chicken tacos for herself. The wings were okay, but her tacos were so bland that she didn't want to eat more than one. In an effort to not waste food, I bit the bullet and ate them. Horrible. Then, our ceviche never came (everyone else had their food long ago), so when I reminded the server, she said it was coming out. 20 minutes later, I asked of I can cancel the ceviche and order 1 happy hour taco instead. The server has glad to make the accommodation and even offered to give a 2nd one free of charge. Unfortunately, it was accidentally served to me with a long strand of hair sitting on top of it. When I showed it to our server, she quickly apologized and brought out another one, offering to take it off the bill.

I really did appreciate the effort our server gave, and made sure to tip her the normal amount.  She did the best she could do to try and keep us happy, but despite her efforts, the food wad just bad quality and they really should have assigned 2 servers.

I don't think I'll ever return to this restaurant.

Tip: do not sit out on the patio during sunset. The sun will glare into your eyes and the patio shades are useless because they have clear plastic windows on them, which defeats the purpose of shades!

Went to Mazz last night to celebrate with my hubby... And was so disappointed in the atmosphere. (I should preface I was a huge fan of Citrus City Grill before it went away and Mazz took its place.)

The hostess didn't even welcome us in... Just asked "how many," grabbed two menus and started to walk away. Took us a minute to realize her walking away implied we should follow her.

Had a nice table & a great server. The filet was cooked perfectly but the veggies were so bland and the potatoes were so dry, presumably from sitting under a heat lamp too long.

At 9 they began breaking down the center section of the restaurant and bringing in large DJ equipment. We were told that music & dancing would take over the night as they began to clear our plates and push us out. Was a little off-put by this, as we'd just had a pretty expensive dinner and felt rushed out... Maybe we weren't the crowd they wanted?

Then the servers appeared who would be doing bottle service for the dance club portion of the night... Wow. That was it for me... Began to feel more like a cabaret.
And while I enjoy a good night on the town and dancing... This was a special evening and we had higher hopes for the restaurant. Maybe it's predecessor set the bar too high?

We won't be coming back... We'll drive to Mario's or Citrus City Grill in Corona next time we have a special event to celebrate.

Just went here for their lunch buffet. I must say it's very good for the $10 price. I checked in using the YELP ad and received an extra 10% of my bill. The server (Alyssa E.) was also a great waitress. I would have given it a 5 star rating but I think their lunch buffet dessert need a little upgrade, maybe an ice cream self serve machine or something. Just a suggestion.

This place is terrible. Me and four friends went here for their lunch buffet at 1 and it ended at 2, there was no food left at all! The only thing they had were "tacos" with meat that have been sitting over hot water for a number of hours, and you know it too because how dry and flavorless it tasted. They had about 6 pieces of chicken left also, which I took 4 pieces. When I went back for more there weren't any left. I asked the cook if there was going to be more coming and he laughed at me and said no. There was then nothing to eat!!! They had salad and about half a scoop of potatoes that have been sitting there for awhile. I took the half scoop of potatoes and ate that because I was starving. Plain and simple, they just don't have anything to eat at their buffet.

I will not return to this establishment and I encourage you not to return either.

I've been here twice.. The first time was a decent experience although I feel the menu is overpriced! My second time was recently and was for taco Tuesday. They have $1 tacos and $1 beers. However, u only get one choice of meat for ur tacos! Shredded beef! Service was horrible and we had to ask someone to grab our waitress for us a few different times. Won't go back, wasn't very satisfied..

I hate to say it, but I'm getting old and a mariachi band in this wide open area made me very anxious to finsh and get out of here.  OMG you couldn't hear yourself, much less your dining partners.

The best part of the meal was the servers, they were very attentive and quite personable.

That said, it didn't make up for the noise and the food.  The food isn't bad, it's just not worth the price.  REALLY you need to get rid of the pre made scalloped potatoes.  The sauce was separated and looked disgusting.  We had chicken, steak and ahi salad between us.  One appetizer, no drinks and that set us back $70.  The salad looked the best, everything else was a little gray and bland.

Sorry, but just not my idea of a "destination" restaurant if the food isn't the draw.

My friend hosted a birthday party for her boyfriend here. I think it was a great choice in location for this event that had a big group. Early evening, this place serves as a restaurant and bar. Later in the evening, this place turns into a hookah bar and dance club. The appetizer, drinks, and hookah were reasonably priced for the venue (i.e. not cheap). I appreciate the concept of one stop shop!

    ABSOLUTE DISASTER!!
We made a reservation for the Mother's Day champagne brunch, arrived promptly at 1 o'clock which was the time of our reservation; were greeted by a hostess stand sitting at a table surrounded by elderly people to be told that we would not be seated until at least 2 PM.  There was no place to sit and wait, it was 108 degrees out, several elderly people who have chronic illnesses, like diabetes, had to leave because they have been kept waiting so long. To look in the dining room there was a long line which was very unorganized for the brunch, there was food all over the floor; it was absolutely disgusting.  My husband ran across the street put our name in at California pizza kitchen, went there and had a lovely meal. Mazz will never ever have the opportunity again to almost ruined one of my 80-year-old  mothers holidays.  This is a perfect example of a money hungry owner overbooking and trying to get you to spend money in the bar. People there for Mother's Day brunch are not a bar crowd.

I don't know where to begin with this place.  I've been here a few times and have never had a great experience.  The food isn't anything special and it's definitely overpriced.

Today, we had a 12:00 reservation for Mother's Day.  We were there fifteen minutes early and didn't get seated until after 1:00.  The owner was seating his friends as they arrived.  We actually noticed that people with later reservations than us were being seated before us.  The manager refused to come out to talk to anyone.

Once we finally got seated, the buffet line was a tragic mess.  They were running out of food and it took a good twenty minutes to get an omelet.  The drinks came in classy (insert sarcasm) plastic cups and the floors were a mess.  The best part of the meal was the canned peaches.  Sad, don't you think?

Never going back here again.  Citrus City Grille was in this spot before and I loved the place.  This owner has a lot to learn about properly staffing his establishment and taking care of his patrons.   A little class wouldn't hurt him, either.  The server did take 25% off our bill for the inconvenience, but that doesn't mean much when they ruined our Mother's Day meal.

The restaurant was 3/4 empty when we arrived - which was a bad sign, considering almost every other restaurant in the shopping center had a 45 minute wait.  Service was extremely slow and unwelcoming.  We waited 5 minutes for menus, another 5 minutes to order drinks, and another 10 minutes to order food.  The food arrived within 15 minutes - but we had already been sitting there 20 minutes prior to ordering!

The food was very underwhelming.  I ordered the Greek salad ($10) with shrimp (+$5).  That's right - I paid $5 for 4 shrimp!!  I'd say this restaurant is severely overpriced given the sub-par food quality and service.

    Will I return? Never.

Stopped here for a drink after dinner. The place was nice and good (though overpriced) cocktail menu. Unfortunately it was full of very drunk and loud middle-aged men and we therefore had no desire to stick around very long.

A little pricey for what I expected but overall experience was good. Had a google offer certificate for $25 for here and had a grand old time with my girlfriend.
Service was great, food was pretty good, and loved that the managers came to our table more than once.
Girlfriend loved it more than I did but I would definitely come back to try some more.
We had the fried calamari and I had the fish and chips. I loved the batter on it. It doesn't take much to please my taste buds so I was pleased. Girlfriend got pan seared sea bass and it was delicious!
I would rank it more toward 3.5 stars but service bumped it up for me.

We have been there for dinner and to their Sunday brunch, both were amazing. They have a great selection on their menu reasonally priced and outstanding service.Seem to have an excellent bar we brought our own bottle of wine but their wine list was good. The brunch totally exceeded all expectations at a tremendous price including bottomless champagne. This has to be the best kept secret in Riverside.

Decent.  Our group went for dinner, and we ordered fish and chips, street tacos, lamb, and soup or salad.  Everyone was happy with their meal, and portions were not a problem.  The lamb was to be medium well, but it was medium at best, and not quite as flavorful as expected, but still good.  The salad looked a little red-tipped/wilted, but we do have to remember that we are lucky to even have lettuce after all the below-freezing temperatures this year.  Just for that, I will save judgment on the salads until another time.  The soup was a shrimp bisque, and was pretty tasty.  I found the sweet butter (maple?) served with the bread to be odd and unexpected.  It was good, but not at all what I wanted, so I had no more than a taste of it.  I feel like we should have been told that it was not regular butter so that we could have requested "real" butter instead.

The wine menu was inaccurate, and when one of our group ordered a particular merlot, we were told that it was only sold by the bottle, even though every menu at the table clearly stated otherwise.  The Patron margaritas were good, but not great.  Unfortunately, my first one came with a bug in it (no extra charge).

Ambiance is nice, restaurant is clean, service was attentive.  In all, I would go again if I am in the area, but there wasn't anything really spectacular to draw me back if I'm not already at the Plaza.

The food here was not good.  I ordered the filet, medium, and it was served to me with blood dripping out of it.  The potatoes that came with it were reminiscent of Coco's hash browns on a bad day.  My son (teenager) ordered the fish n chips, and he described it as dry.  Son #2 ordered the street tacos and refused to eat them because they were so small.  I was really disappointed in this place.

I wish I could have given this place more stars being that it is a locally owned an operated place but sadly my taste buds wouldn't let me.

Let me start off by saying the place was good looking, clean, and the staff was very friendly which are all positives. I've been wanting to try this place since it opened, it has good curb appeal and that helped lure me in after a movie.

I ordered the taco plate, and my companion had the taco salad which was recommend by our waitress. My taco plate was nicely presented, six tacos with beans and rice. The tacos were street style with small tortillas and a meat of your choice, the tortillas were rather stale with an aftertaste of preservatives - the meat itself was dry but had a decent lime undertone. The Spanish rice was rather bland and dry, and the ranchero style beans were reminiscent of something out of a can. I would not recommend the taco plate to anyone you are better off going to any generic Mexican place.

As for the taco salad all the ingredients were clearly from a bag, nothing seemed hand prepared - the cheese was pre-shredded covered in a chalky preservative. The salad it's self wasn't visually appealing and the ground beef meat was overly greasy.

All and all the food was very generic and it's ingredients were obviously procured from the local warehouse store as they were far from fresh and had the taste of being shelved.

My recommendation for the owners would be investing in developing a menu based on fresh ingredients, from handmade breads to locally sourced veggies and meats. I would not mind coming back if those changes have been made since the staff are very nice and inviting.

Good drinks, great service, really good food.  My wife had the Chili Verde which tasted really good, the rice was flavorful and moist, the black beans very authentico.  I had the Fish & Chips, and the fish came to the table hot, crisp on the outside, flaky Atlantic Cod goodness on the inside.  Third best fish I've ever had (and I've had a lot), a genuine nine out of ten.  Steak fries were good.  It was supposed to come with cole slaw, but had a corn/black bean dish with the chef's secret vinaigrette - very different, with an oily smokiness that just can't be described.  Oh yeah, we had probably four different people who asked us if we needed anything on a rotating basis.  Great service!  Thank you, Mazz, we will be back!

The menu is a variety of Mexican, Italian and American - so there's something for everyone. Mazz passes the value test as prices are actually really reasonable w/ the average entree costing about $12, and Mazz is not stingy with the portions. The most expensive items on the menu were the Halibut, Filet Mignon, and the Rib Eye listed at $21.99. Food passed the taste test!

If deciding what to eat wasn't a task given the variety, deciding which alcoholic beverage was even more of a task. Their menu lists 100 different crafted martinis! We each tried different martinis, I noticed the bartender was not stingy with the alcohol.

As far as service, our waitress was excellent (perhaps past dismal yelp reviews have something to do with this).  She was very friendly and attentive and even brought us a delicious and generous slice of chocolate cake for my boyfriend's birthday.

I don't know if this is a Friday night trend, but as we were eating dinner we were invited to stay for SALSA lessons and salsa dancing for the remainder of the night. We decided to stay and spectate and the free lessons were given and then the lights went down for salsa dancing. Pretty big turnout. Overall, Mazz provided a satisfying Friday evening.

Entered restaurant at 6:05 on a Saturday evening with my guest.  Sat at a booth immediately.  First problem is restaurant believes it is a good idea to blast the P.A. system from the bar into the dining room area, which causing everyone at their table to shout and struggle to hear their partner.

Bread was offered, which took five minutes to arrive, was cold and clearly not fresh.  Worse still, waiter could not understand the concept of bringing balsamic vinegar and oil with the bread.  Instead we received first, Italian Dressing, then  a weird sauce that was unidentifiable.  When we pointed out neither item was what we asked for, the waiter frowned and simply brought back the Italian Dressing.  Butter was a sweet honey butter, half frozen and not spreadable.

We ordered the filet mignon (rare) and pasta dish at 6:15.  We then waited for 25 minutes.  Our drinks (ice tea) long finished, glasses at our table unfilled.  We were fairly sure the waiter did not appreciate our "pickiness" at the bread issue.   The food did not arrive.

We walked out at 6:45.  How long does it take to cook pasta and a rare steak?  My companion has had two horrible experiences at this restaurant, and I am thankful we were able to enjoy a half-decent hot dog at the movie theaters next door.

Um, I had to take a star away from this place.  If you want good service at this place, I suggest getting a seat at the bar.  So far I've gotten the wrong bill when I asked for my check, a waitress who didn't bother to leave us with silverware, never checked on us (my martini glass sat empty on the table for what seemed like ages), and spent more time chatting with some dude at the bar.  We seriously would glance at our empty beverage glasses and then glance back at her several times throughout dinner.  She also forgot to bring my friend bread which was supposed to come with the pasta that he ordered.

She also needs to get to know their menu a little better.  I asked for a Garrod martini, which is on their happy hour menu.  She says, "um, i dont think we have a carrot martini"... so I repeat myself and say, "GARROD martini"... she replies, "no, i'm pretty sure we dont have a Garrot martini"..

If I ever come back to this place, I'll go straight for the bar, or just come for their salsa lessons. Overall, the service here is pretty terrible.

A friend recommended this for Sunday brunch.  She had been twice and liked it.  Three of us had brunch today.

Good:  Value, (15.95/person; $17.95/person with champagne).
    Good:  Service
    Good:  Clean restrooms
Good:  Buffet variety: mix of Mexican and American with omelet bar, prime rib and ham station.
    Fair:  Salad varieties
Poor:  Omelet chef should wear gloves
    Poor:  Dessert variety
Poor:  Shrimp should be peeled or utensils for peeling should be provided

Note:  Noise level is high.  Owner said he put carpeting in to dampen it, but it's still high.  Yet, we were able to hear one another and carry on conversation.  Suggestion:  why not turn off music during brunch.  It just adds to the noise level.

Better than the Citrus City Grille which it replaced.  Has promise of being 4 star--possibly 5 if they can fix the noise level problem.

I will probably go back, at a later date - and be a bit more selective in my menu options -but HECK, I figured I had picked really WELL....this is a stretch for 3 stars.

    1 Star...A really good Cadillac maggie--really good
1 Star ..super waiter, attentive and personable
    1 star for the carnitas

My friend had the Street tacos.  She said they were good. I found them pretty "blah"  looking (the picture says it all)  and not nearly enough salsa, etc., to go with the plate.

I had the Carnitas platter. (again I moved and blurred the pic, but posting anyhow)   A definite solid star for the meat.  Well seasoned, moist and well roasted.  That's as good as the plate got.  The rice was totally flavorless and COLD..simply colored light orange.  You get a choice of refried or black beans.  I opted for the black beans and they were like a solid, cold glop of black cement.  There were about 4 STRANDS of melted (barely) jack cheese over the beans.  I brought the beans to the attention of our waiter.  He came back with a small plate and asked if he could take a spoonful and show the chef...that was the last we heard from him.

I may go back if my friend wishes to---but if it's my pick we will go to El Torito in the same center!

You really want a choice of good restaurants in the your area, but it appears that is asking for way too much!

***UPDATE*** Have since heard from the owner asking that I give the place another try---he wants a 5...hmmmm  that would be a STRETCH for sure, but I'll go back, just not any time soon.

It seems my dining life is a bit like a roller coaster, I have some ups, but a lot of downs.

A friend lives in the area so we decided to come here last Saturday night. The ambiance for a date night here is really good. Dimly lit and comfy seats. +1 star for that.

Food- Poor. Poor. Poor. I haven't had steak in some time so I decided to try out their Filet Mignon. It came out over cooked and resembled nothing of a filet. Dry to say the least. Needed A1 sauce, letdown. Came with mashers, Some sweet potato mashers, and vegetables. The veggies were the best thing to some out of the kitchen.

Service- Waiter was helpful and attentive but messed up our order a couple of times. He was so on top of us it felt very cramped, especially when he cleaned our table off and gave us the bill when we weren't done eating. But I guess service is better than no service. At least he did it with a smile on his face. +1 star

Overall- Felt that this place couldn't decide on being a Mexican or an American place. Menu was all over the place. Stick to one and do it well.

I'm still on the fence about this place.  I went for dinner a few weeks ago, and found the prices a bit steep for what you get, but it tasted good.  I got the tacos, and my friend got a hamburger.  He ordered the burger with no onions (He is allergic to onions) and the waitress failed to mention that they make their hamburger patty with onions inside.  When he took a bite he immediately noticed them and told the waitress he couldn't eat it.  The owner came right over and offered the child's burger, which has no onions, and made sure it arrived quickly and was built like the other burger, just with an all meat patty.  Well played, owner.

Last night we returned to have a few drinks and listen to the music.  The waiter we got was very friendly, helpful and attentive.  I give him 5 stars!  But the bottle of wine we bought was very over priced.  Good thing it was delicious.

A few thoughts:  The floorplan of this place is awkward.  You have to walk through the bar to get to the outside patio seating.  You have to walk through the middle seating area to get to the restrooms.  It just feels weird.

NOTE:  the dance floor in the center section is a law suit waiting to happen.  In the 2 hours we were there I saw 3 people trip as they tried to walk through!  They had better do something about that before someone gets hurt.

Food is good. Service is not. Waiter was NOT good (not paying attention to us, not refilling drinks), until he hassled us about paying.....then we couldn't get rid of him!

Friday nites they have salsa dancing...I'm the director of a dance team. We had a party of 6 people. We told the hostess we were happy to see dancing available after dinner. We ate dinner, we paid, the waiter told us they were charging us to dance (cover charge), even after paying for 6 dinners, and then hassled one of my team members to pay for tap water.....we had to ask for the manager who refused to believe we had just eaten dinner there! So we left.

The music is good...GO for the salsa dancing on fri nites..skip eating there.

We went here today for Mother's Day. Although the food was great, I gave it  three stars for a couple reasons. First, as the previous reviewers stated, the food is a little on the salty side, especially the Spanish rice and the carnitas. The Mexican  potatoes were very tasty, but way undercooked as were the steamed veggies.
A few suggestions to the management to make it a better  buffet experience would be to remove a few tables and place some of the buffets in the dining area instead of almost all the offerings in a small hallway. This caused a 20-30  minute wait for an omelet, not to mention, if all you wanted was fruit or a non omelet dish, the wait was still 30 minutes. Taking the extra tables away would serve another purpose. It may cause a longer wait to get in, but once you get in, you would not have to wait an extend period in line just to eat.

    Must-haves: Nothing
    Skip: Everything

When Citrus City Grille went out of business in the Riverside Plaza I was so excited. It was a great opportunity for the Riverside Plaza to finally offer good food. Since I work nearby, I always told my co-workers: "I hope they put in a [insert good restaurant name]"

When it was announced that the Mazz was the restaurant, I was initially let down, but kept my mind open when I finally went to try it.

When we got there, we asked the waitress what's on the menu for happy hour. She told us that out of this thick book of drinks she handed us, only 3 drinks were on happy hour (LAME). We came to our decision and waited for the waitress to come back.............
    5 mins go by....
    10 mins go by....
    15 mins go by....
We FINALLY ordered, got our happy hour drinks (10 mins later)...and both were degusting and undrinkable.
Food was no exception. We ordered happy hour food and an entrée...both were barely edible.

I also saw the manager(/owner?) wondering around. It was clear that he had no idea what he was doing; he was just talking with friends the entire time instead of paying attention to the rest of his customers, all of which were disgruntled.

Terrible service, management, food and drinks. Spend your money elsewhere Yelpers!

"I would like salt to start and have salt for dinner." That's probably what this place hears when someone orders.

Ever since Mazz Bar & Grill opened in place of City Citrus Grille, a couple of my friends and I wanted to try it. We came in for dinner for my birthday. Got seated right away and got waters to start. Little did we realize that those waters were a necessity when eating at this place.

One of my friends and I ordered martinis. I forget what they were called, but mine was very delicious. My friend's martini was on the sweeter side, which I didn't care for.

We started with the Artichoke Dip for an appetizer. My friends got a bowl of the Chicken Soup and the Mazz Torta with chicken, and I ordered the Taquiza De Mass.

When the Artichoke Dip came out, it's served with tortilla chips. It smelled really good and we all dug in as soon as it hit the table. First bite seemed to be good, but the more we ate, the saltier it got. At first we thought it was because the chips were salty. So we tried it without the chips and the dip itself was also salty! We ended up leaving the chips and eating the rest of the dip with the complimentary bread they give.

When our entrées came out, again, everything looked delicious. My tacos came in threes, which you can choose between steak, carnitas, or chicken. I got one of each. It also comes with a side of rice and beans, and some sauces (which were too spicy for me, so I left them aside). The tacos were small. The chicken and steak tacos were very dry, but the carnitas taco I enjoyed. The beans were really salty, so I just stuck to eating the rice with didn't have much flavor.

I wasn't able to try my friends' dishes, but they weren't as pleased with theirs either.

To end the night, we ordered Créme Bruleé. It tasted good, but it wasn't smooth. The sugar crust is my favorite part, at least they got that right.

My husband and I dined here tonight and were not impressed. Having worked in the restaurant business I can suggest they get a little more creative with their menu of lack luster items. Is this Mexican or American, tacos, hamburgers, it was just not anything great and we need something better in Riverside. The location is great, the bar seems to do well, although we didn't go to that side it seems it is carrying the restaurant. I can't imagine people are going for the food.

Also, a huge pet peeve is when your servers have no idea what the food is or if it is any good. All servers should have tasted the entire menu at a soft opening or menu tasting. Nothing sells food better than a server describing it to you because they love it.

If they just used a few more inventive ingredients and pared down that crazy menu so it made sense it might have a chance. Then again the liquor sales may just do it.

The night we went I believe the owner was there, big shot at a table near the bar with servers visiting him to give updates. Too bad he didn't notice some of the guests not eating their food and getting not so great service.
