I'm a fan because it's conveniently on my way to work and on my way home, but just like any other McDonald's it's OK. You know what you will get when you eat at any McDonald. The outright obsession with this place doesn't quite hold up when you compare it to some of my favorite burger joints. Â But when you compare it to any other national fast food joint Wendy's and burger king i take MCD any-days.
Review Source:I really hate giving out reviews that are less than four stars, but this place, even for a McDonald's, is just.. mehhhh. I'm usually a sucker for their french fries but the last few times I visited, they were quite sub-par. I miss the old, fatty, delicious, crispy on the outside fresh and hot and fluffy on the inside fries. But if you get the munchies late at night and you're feelin' a McFlurry, I guess it's not bad.
They recently renovated this joint so it looks much nicer, but it doesn't matter too much when you're just hitting this place up for a late night drive thru.
Ok. this place is good. There food taste great but they have the most gross ingrediants ever!!!! When ever i go there for my little sister. i eat one of her chicken nuggets every time. They are so good but i know they are so bad. Me and my friend saw chicken toe nails in hers!!! They make the nuggets out of chicken guts and cemicals then die it white to make it loook good!! Plus if you eat there alot then stop because it will make you fat!!!
Review Source:Poor service. Food was as to be expected....oh wait I didn't actually get my food.
I'm not sure what's more embarrassing...the 2 stars I'm giving Mc'D's or admitting that I ate here, late night cruising through the drive through.
I ashamedly admit it and I think that is worse since this is fast food after all. But seriously after taking our order and repeating it to us  twice, I'm still at a loss on how you could forget my french fries? We ordered a Happy Meal, snack size rolo Mc Flurry and an order or small french fries.
Our fault for not checking the bag before we drove away, but really, its not that difficult. And no, by the time we got back on the freeway, I was not about to turn around and go back to ask the minimum wage drive through attendant to give me my french fries that we paid for.
I guess he was trying to tell me that 250+ calories would be served better elsewhere than in my tummy.
Mc Donald's ....not lovin' it
Terrible service in the morning today. Â First of all they did not their own coupon for the buy1get1 smoothie so I had to pay for 2 of them. Â Second of all the employee who made the smoothies spilled smoothie all over their counter and did not clean off the side of the cup. Â Needless to say I will refrain myself from coming here for any kind of food in the future.
Review Source:24 hour drive-thru window! Â That's my favorite part about this location.
This is the McDonald's that I usually stop at before completing a drive  to/from San Diego and OC/LA.  It's at an ideal midpoint location between the two.  The place is pretty clean for a mcdonalds and the service isn't bad as well.  The drive thru can get pretty packed during the usual mealtime hours so don't park near the drive thru lane if you're coming inside or you'll get stuck!  Leaving the parking lot can be a challenge sometimes if there's a lot of traffic fresh from the nearby freeway exits.
I've stopped here many times to get a quick McCafe coffee drink before driving through the long stretch of wilderness on the 5 south to sd, which can make you sleepy at times.
Always make a stop at this Mickey D's on my way to Disneyland from San Diego. It always pretty packed, a lot of people do the same thing. The parking lot can get a little hectic.
When it gets really packed they send out a person to take orders from the drive thru. The decor of the surfboards is pretty cool also.
For as many people come thru here they keep this place damn clean. Gotta give it up to the staff for that. Service is alright and the food well you know.
Better than most, gives back to the community, and signed surfboards embrace the San Clemente culture. Â The location is amazing: near high school, off freeway next to gas stations, drive through, and midpoint between San Diego and Los Angeles.
I've been pleased to see the owners continuously improve past service issues, reconfiguring drive-through staff, and giving coupons for dissatisfied customers. Â And most important fall, the owners give charitably to many local events to support the community!
So we used to go here after school to wait for our parent's to pick us up in highschool.
I've been through a lot with this particular establishment, history runs deep lol. so before us, they had no loitering signs. We were kicked out after 20minutes once they got the sign up, specifically placed where we sat every day.
Ordering food out of obligation is never good. Â
I've seen fights in the parking lot, new managers and employees like nobody wants to stay here.
I hate eating Mcdonalds. I refuse to ever eat more than a single fry from them anytime anybody orders them. they just taste like pure salt that would better suite getting ice off your driveway.
the Mc Chicken is the only thing worth ordering, or maybe one of the sundays, they're burgers taste like cardboard greased up and placed on the worst tasting toppings as if they took the rejected ones from all the other fast food chains.
Everytime I go there, I ask myself why I got 2 mc chickens and a coke, and thats because some days you just feel like crap, eat like crap and then crap out that crap.
avoid this place at all costs. Â its a very bad cycle that we have created.
HORRIBLE SERVICE...
I stopped by here around Mid-November from my trip from UCSD to home in northern Orange County. I stopped by to get a sweet tea (which is a dollar of course), and the woman at the counter was rather very rude and demeaning.
The tea also tasted HORRIBLE. I can't help but to realize how the sweet teas taste different at different McDonalds and they never seem to taste the same. The place was empty and rather smelly. The floor was sticky and upon reading the other reviews, it's a good thing I didn't stay here or use the restroom, because I got the drink, and got in my car and went straight on the freeway to continue my journey.
Maybe next time I feel like having a rest-stop, I should stop at the McDonalds in Dana Point which is like few more minutes north of this place. MUCH cleaner and MUCH nicer in my opinion...
Wow- I agree w/ 3 of the other 5 reviewers that this McDonalds is *the* half way point between SD and LA and environs. Â Personally, I like this place when I'm about to take toll road to Santa Ana, because you can't get off the toll road, and Southern Santa Ana is a downright impossible place to find a restaurant or otherwise public restroom at the end of a one and a half hour drive
Review Source:While everyone is aware that fast food is not the best for you, this McDonalds has added an additional "element" to your menu of choices. The choice of getting completely overcome with noxious smells from the bathrooms.
Like most people, we don't want to think that the bathrooms we are using is one the "toxic waste" dumping list.
Regardless of what time you arrive at this location expect to be confronted by these odors.
It appears as the management has no interest or concern to address either...as it has been this way for over a year....you have been warned!
Half way between CV and LA
When driving from Chula Vista to Los Angeles or beyond on the 5, I like to stop here for a quick break. Located conveniently off the interstate, adjacent to San Clemente High School, McDonald's is air conditioned, clean, and has free refills. That is enough to entice me to stop by for a stretch and a Diet Coke caffeine boost.
I always refer to this McDonalds as the half way point from San Diego to Los Angeles. Â It may not exactly be half way but I like to consider it to be. Â Well I went here with my parents yesterday and we were at the drive thru. Â My mom wanted the premium roast coffee. Â The cup in the picture said premium roast coffee. Â It is just a plain coffee. Â No mocha, no latte, no whatever fancy name they want to make on a coffee. Â Then the guy just kept asking if she wanted the mocha, latte, or whatever. Â They don't have any plain coffee anymore? Â
We then get up to the drive thru window finally and then with my order of mcnuggets we ask them if they have sweet and sour sauce. Â They say it is in the bag. Â We drive off and then it is barbeque sauce. Â We asked and they said that it was in there and it is a different sauce. Â That is just terrible.
I do not like the customer service in this mcdonalds. Â It is terrible!!!
I'm so pleased to be the first to review this McDonald's. Â I may never return...not 'cause the food wasn't okay, but because it was just some random place to use the bathroom and it was just there when I needed it.
First, I have to tell you that I have this "thing"...if I use an establishment's bathroom, I feel obligated to express my gratitude with some degree of patronage. Â A kind of fast food bathroom karma. Â I ordered a filet-o-fish.
Secondly, you need to know that it was about 10:30pm or so and there were only two customers in the area where you order, me and some lady. Â You also need to know that I'm kind of unique looking...nice I think, but not like anyone you've probably ever seen or will see again.
Now, after patiently waiting for a couple of minutes, the guy I gave my order to (we'll call him "10-second Tom") looks at me and says "You ready?". Â In my head I'm thinking "Ready?! Â Ready for what? Â Ready to rumble? Ready to take the filet-o-fish I ordered 2 minutes ago? Uh, yeah!", but I just looked at him kinda dumbfounded 'cause I realized he meant, am I ready to order as if he had never laid eyes on me before. Â I am after all the unique-looking guy remember? Â I said something like "uh, I already ordered a fish sandwich."
Just so you know, the filet-o-fish was okay.
Thanks Tom!
