Food was amazing !!!
My husband had a beer which he thoroughly enjoyed (Id tell you what kind it was, but I know nothing about beer)... we split a spinach / strawberry salad and a garlic chicken woodfire pizza. Â Both were incredible!!! Serving sizes were very large and prices fair.
Our waitress was a little brisk and kept walking away as we were telling her something (for example, my husband asked if they had a certain kind of beer and she assumed he was having that and just took off). Â We also noticed food sitting in the window for quite a while getting cold..
Overall, a really great lunch, we would have come back again but we left town the next day. Â
Highly recommend.
Once again, not misled by fellow Yelpers.
Salads were very good, Steak & Blue cheese and Blackened Chicken Caesar, but they seemed like lunch portions at 4pm...
Service was nice, efficient.
Like the atmosphere, kind of a lodgy bar feel to it with long tables and lots of wood everywhere. Â Would definitely return if in this area again.
This place is really wonderful. We came from Seattle for grandpa's birthday. While he lives here, he'd never been.
The food was excellent. We had salads (which came with delicious beer bread), and they were really good. At the same time, our server, Kara, brought homemade playdo for our three year old. I haven't ever seen that before, but it kept her busy until the food came. Awesome. (Worth noting: Kara/our service was fantastic throughout).
Beer selection was solid; we had 3 different IPA's in our party. Food, likewise: crab sandwich, a burger, blue mac&cheese, pizza, and a dinner salad. All were very good to excellent. They were also very accommodating to the gluten free gal in our party.
We will come back next time we visit. Great place.
Just got back from a weekend in Wenatchee and revisted McGlinn's twice--once for lunch--and the next day for breakfast. I love just about everything about this place-- fantastic ambience, original brick walls, local memorabilia, and even a very cool ski-lodge theme restroom. All that is nice, but what keeps me coming back is the outstanding food and service. The waiter recommended the wood-fire proscuitto and peach pizza (a take on the CB & pineapple) and it was fabulous! Even had a piece of their fantastic German Chocolate Cake before our dinner came. So many great options on the menu. Only negative is that I wish there was a full bar. Nice wines and reasonable prices makes this a local favorite!
Review Source:McGlinn's is one of the most inviting and hip places I've tried in Wenatchee. Â The location is very nice, near the cool old downtown area, and the decor looks pretty cool with a lot of brick and wood finishings. Â The menu consists of burgers, brick oven pizzas, salads, pastas and sandwhiches. Â Friendly and attentive service are another plus at this place. Â Although I wouldn't say this place is very original or extraordinary, I would recommend McGlinn's.
Review Source:In my prior review I talked about how great the food was, but as of today I must remove 1 star not for the food but the the attifood... they posted an image of one of their dishes and normally even their pictures looked amazing; I thought this one was a horrible representation of their food which I love. I didn't expect what was to happen next would actually happen but my message was deleted, I was told that they didn't need my negative energy and they DO NOT accept criticism of ANY kind for ANY reason... huh? Still love the food, but I am less energized about riding 200 miles round trip to return as quickly knowing that maybe if I have an issue with an item they may treat me as negatively in person as on line.
Review Source:The location is like pub-style in decor. It was Sunday around noon, and was quite busy. We ordered the italian sausage pizza, and split two gyros. The food was timely, and it was excellent. The portions are huge, so be weary of that. The service was efficient, and I was pleasantly surprised. This definitely lives up to its 4 star rating.
Review Source:McGlinn's has a wonderful old-timey atmosphere and is located in a brick building with high cielings that houses lots of old baseball paraphanelia. There is a large metal oven in the back where they cook their delicious pizzas. The margharitta is sensational. My favorite dishes are the french dip, the jon paul burger and all of the pizzas. The beer bread is also everyones favorite. Its so delicious and hot and fresh. It is usually pretty busy inside but the atmosphere is always the same, warm and friendly. They play good music and the lights are just dim enough. It's a great vibe.
Review Source:Came here for dinner one night while over near Leavenworth, WA. Â I had the Salumi Pesto Pasta and thought it was good but a little too oily and salty! Â The salad warm bread and beer were all good though! Â I would recommend this place if you're over in Wenatchee and looking for a good place to eat for the evening.
Review Source:You MUST try the nachos. They are so fabulous and I have to get them every time I go. I'm from Wenatchee, but now live in the Seattle area. There are only two restaurants I want to go to when I go back home. Wok a Bout and McGlinn's. The atmosphere is great, the food is fabulous and it's a great place to catch up with friends, take a date, or have a night out with the family. Highly recommended!
Review Source:McGlinn's is 5 star awesome on a good day and one star annoying on a bad day. Â Seems that the job security there is maybe too good because I always get the best service with one of the servers who is newer. Â Often, the vets seem to pull back on customer service in order to take more tables and I assume, make more money. Â
Been going for years and will continue to go because the choices in Wenatchee are lacking, and this is the best of the casual dining restaurants. Â Last time I went, however, I notice the 'fresh and simple' lemonade was poured right out of a generic brand can. Â The beer choices seem to be moving more to mainstream large breweries. (Widmer and Pyramid and not micros) Â But the food is great and very consistent.
you will NOT find better wood oven fired pizza than McGlinn's on the west coast of the US.
nothing better than a steaming hot cheesy pie plopped into the middle of your table. your fingers are itching to get burned as you scoop up your first gooey, hot slice and shove it into your mouth. NomNomNomNomNom.
guilty pleasure.
The group of us came in two nights in a row...it is just. that. good.
McGlinn's makes me miss real New York pies even more now, but having McGlinn's in existence makes NY a comforting memory
We had dinner here while passing through Wenatchee, and it was terrific.
The beer bread is a mustn't miss. It's hard to describe - kind of like a non-sweet, bready coffee cake. I've never had anything like it before!
Chipotle pasta was excellent and also highly distinctive. Prosciutto and peach pizza with goat cheese was OK but kind of a stunt; the peach component consists of preserves, which are too sweet and too jammy-tasting for this dish. But the meat and crust were both excellent, and I would imagine the other pizzas are very good.
Service was very good too.
Went here on a recommendation by a localite. Downtown Wenatchee was asleep by the time we got into town at 9:30 PM, and this seemed to be the only place serving (they take food orders till 10PM). Inside, the ambience was warm and the place was buzzing with people. You can see the brick oven baking the pizzas, and the decor is brick walls with cool stuff on it (like an actual traffic light!)
In fact, we ended up eating here both nights we stayed there, and somehow ended up ordering the exact items both the times!
Our waitress offered us big samples of beers and even a free, full serving of beer bread! Try the summer belgian beer (I forget the name, but it was first on their list). It tastes like honeydew and brightens up the day.
Vegetarian options were salads, one pasta and of course, the pizzas. We ordered a greek Pesto pizza which was a good meal for two. it is loaded with toppings, made on the yum wheat dough and tastes great. It seemed to have a little too much olive oil on it, so we asked them to cut out the olive oil the next day, and it tasted much better.
The servers are nice and the place is a happy place. I'd definitely go back again.
I go to this place every time I'm in Wenatchee. Â I havent had anything below a 5 star experience each time I've been. Â This is a neat little pub style place just near downtown Wenatchee. Â The food is really good, not your typical pub food. I recently had the copper river salmon special and it was as good as I've had anywhere. Â I've also had their pizza which is wood fired thin crust style and very tasty. They have a nice beer selection of mostly NW micros and a cider on tap. Â I havent experienced any of the bad service talked about on some of the reviews here ever, its all been great every time i've been there.
Review Source:I was in Wenatchee a few weeks back and yelped for a pub. Â McGlinns came up and after checking out the menu on their site I was sold. Â The first night I had the Prosciutto and peach pizza and it was excellent. Â My wife had the chipotle chicken pasta and it was also great. Â I was so happy with the meal we returned the next day for lunch. Â This time I had the Blue Mac Cheese. Â Wow! Â I've been dreaming about it ever since. Â The wife had the BBQ pizza the second time and it was fantastic.
My only complaint about McGlinns is that it's in Wenatchee ;) Â Open another place west on the mountains please!
I went to McGlinn's for dinner in July of 2010 while visiting Wenatchee. I knew nothing of Wenatchee restaurants, and chose McGlinn's based on the atmosphere and its proximity to downtown- we were headed to the drive-in later that night. I immediately loved the old pub feel of the restaurant, and the food did not let me down.
Our server was very friendly, fast, and helpful- even weighing in when asked about the best appetizer. She suggested the beer bread, which was un-frickin-believable. I would recommend it to anyone going to McGlinn's. I also tried a local pale ale and the blackened chicken caesar salad. Both were great and I would definitely order them again, except for the fact that now I really want to try some of the other yummy sounding things on the menu. The boyfriend got the south of the border burger and was very happy.
I would recommend McGlinn's to anyone looking for good food, a fun atmosphere, and a nice beer selection.
We were in town for a wedding and met up with friends who highly recommended this place for dinner. It was early enough on a Saturday night that we didn't have any problem getting a table but anytime after 7 and you will wait a while. That's what happens when there is only one good place to eat in the little town on Wenatchee.
We ate plain & simply but all was great! I tried the bread beer which was mighty tasty but I didn't want to fill up on that so it was only a try.
I ordered a fancy version of a BLT (BBTA) which was good but I wish I had ordered what my husband had. He enjoyed the hot crab sandwich was seriously OUT OF THIS WORLD on taste and yuminess! It's a must try if you like garlic, crab & cheese. It's super rich but ahhhhmazing.
The atmosphere is old & rustic, kinda like restaurant @ Fenway with the exposed bricks and baseball decorations throughout.
The service is quick, polite & attentive. The prices are reasonable and the quality is the best (from what the locals have told me) in town.
I only gave it 4 stars because I felt their menu was limited, but everything else was 5 star.
OMG.. it's been years since I've been here! I generally ordered the BBQ chicken pizza but being preggers... I'm in the mood for noodles with cream sauce!! I ordered the Chicken Saltimbucco  and my friend ordered the steak. Everything was delicious! I love the beer bread that they serve prior to your meal.. it's the best!
It doesn't matter what time you come here, it's a happening place! Always busy, but they are relatively quick to get you seated... maybe next time I'll call ahead and make reservations??
It's the middle of a 3 day weekend, yet Wenatchee seems to have rolled the sidewalks up at 4pm.  After a fun day on the slopes - I want a beer!  We found McGlinn's totally at random during a slow & desperate cruise of S. Wenatchee Ave and thus somewhat thankful the streets were empty and full of parking. A quick beat-down by the overhead door fan on the way in, and we're negotiating our way to the few bar stools remaining.  Just in time as shortly thereafter  the place had a so many people waiting that any trip back through the front door, or even down to the bathrooms, became a challenge.
Inside we found somewhere in the neighborhood of a dozen taps, of which all were local from WA except two from OR, 1 from CA, and one from Ireland. Â Excellent! Â No problems getting tasters or keeping the pint filled either. Â Food was an easy selection as well - with a completely open kitchen and a wood fire oven dominating the back of the dining room, a 30 second walk by shows the freshness of the ingredients and the cleanliness of the preparation area. Â And pretty good pub grub they can turn out as well - and at just the right price.
My extra tip of the hat to the servers. Â The place was packed. Â I mean really packed. Â Yet the staff was calm, friendly and efficient. Â You know what I'm talking about, when some places get to half full the servers are running around like chickens with their heads cut off - not here. Â Maybe it was the right amount of staffing, people that know what they are doing, an easy going customer base - or a tell of great management, whatever the case - fantastic service and keep up the good work!
I sat at the bar for over ten minutes and no one even asked me if I wanted a drink, so I just walked out.
I've never had that happen to me ever. The bartender was just standing there drinking something and serving the guy next to me, but didn't even say hi or ask if I wanted a beer.
Lame
I actually wish there was a pub like McGlinn's near me in Seattle!
The service is friendly and pretty prompt, the atmosphere is cool (I could do without the loud live music though) and the wood-fired pizza oven makes amazing pizzas.
Favorites here: the Cafe Michael salad (huge though!), the beer bread, the black bean soup, and the aforementioned pizzas. Iced tea comes in giant carafes so you can refill yourself. I've never had dessert here because I've been so full after the entree.
Happened to be in Wenatchee over the weekend for the Apple Blossom Festival. Â For dinner, a friend (somewhat local) suggested we check out McGlinn's. Â
It was a fairly happening place, with a long bar that runs most of the length of the restaurant. Â I'm not sure whether this place is a brewery or not. Â I saw a long line of microbrew taps and a few of them had the McGlinn name (i.e. McGlinn's Mountain Ale for example). Â Another feature here is the wood-fired stove. Â Many menu items were cooked in this stove, including a decent list of pizza pies. Â I ultimately went for the BBQ Chicken Pizza. Â It was flat-crusted and was decent.
Pretty cool decor w/ some baseball memorabilia (Yankees had a farm team in Wenatchee back in the day...some of the players bartended at McGlinn's) & some ole time skiis, tobagon, etc.
Will definitely try this place out again next time I'm in the Apple Capital!
There's a reason I took my date here (to a brewpub) for dinner before a high school dance 8 years ago. It's that good.
The food tends more toward bistro-style food with the quality, but without the big-city price. Woodfired pizzas are excellent. Service is attentive. Burgers (especially the South of the Border) are some of the best I've had in Eastern Washington.
My tastes have been refined by my life in Seattle, but I'll still gladly go here when I'm back in town visiting the folks.
