Mermaids

I've been to several cigar bars, and this ranked among the best of them. The decor made it plain from when you walk in that this was a place that takes what it did seriously. It had a great cigar selection and good food. I was always treated very well as a customer.

It is now out of business, unfortunately.

This place is what the coastal bend needed. Good Beer, Good Wine, and Great Cigars. Thanks Mermaids!

I've read a few reviews of this fine establishment and I've written one previously and must say some are way off base. First the staff has always been friendly and outgoing from the newest employee that comes in all the way to the owner. This is why I frequent this place. Snobby people need not show up, this is not your type of place. The customers a friendly and outgoing, I've had many conversations with strangers that have turned out to be fantastic people.

They have a fine selection of wines from various regions, I'm not a "wine person" but they've helped open me to new types of wines. If you want wine from a box, this is not your place.  

The food menu is a work in progress but everything I've eaten here has been great. They have their set items and have been working on expanding this aea. The deserts are great! The coffee is great as well and the item I order the most from your regular cup to iced mochas and beyond.

I've been recommended several different beers that I've never tried before and also been pleased with every one of them.

Cigars, this is my favorite arena... let me start off by saying it is disrespectful to bring a cigar into a place that sells cigars without asking first if it's ok and/or purchasing a cigar that they have. The $5 clipping fee for a cigar that is brought in is nominal so don't take offense to the charge. If you're unsure about the charges just ask and someone will be more than happy to explain them to you as I have seen many tims before. The cigars they offer are botique brands (small batch with better quality than a mass production), they are pleasant and not your convienece store varity. No one wants to walk into an establishment and smell a crappy cigar and that is why they don't sell them.
