Great old-school type of pub randomly in downtown-ish Toledo. The place is seriously huge, with a patio out back for those of us who can't drink without smoking. Every time I've seen a show here, the sound has also been great -- they get a lot of mileage out of what they have, and rival places three times as big. If I lived in Toledo, I would definitely live in my car outside of this bar.
Review Source:Every time I've been to Mickey Finn's, I had a fun time. Granted, the only time I've been there is when my band has played, so I may have had a different experience if I was there otherwise. The staff is mostly friendly (a few stiffs from time to time), and the beer selection is great. They celebrate celebrate St. Patrick's Day on the 17th of every month!
The sound system is good, and it's easy to see the band from any spot in the club. The bar-area is nice for a cozy dinner. They have a back patio area for smokers and from what I remember it offers some protection from the weather.
This is a great bar....and the neighborhood isn't the greatest...but it's worth going anyway. Â The exterior is lovely, all lined in beautiful wood. Â It has that homey Irish pub feel....but it IS named after it's owner, Mickey Finn, who hails from Ireland originally. Â The food is great....and the drinks are even better. Â Nothing watered down or slacked on a bit. Â
It gets pretty busy on some nights and I am not into that too much, but on nights when they have live bands it can be alot of fun to go and listen and have a drink, even if alone. Â You never feel alone there. Â I love going on days during lunch though, kind of a nice time to get away and maybe run into a few people who are doing the same!
Make sure you try the chicken wings...lol.
He also has a beer and burger named The Mickey Finn...lol
