hidden by trees off of Apalachee Pkwy. on a service road it's easy to get past, and some care is needed on the service rd. with cars coming off the pkwy. that said, the parking lot is expansive, there is an (enclosed) outdoor bar (for smokers) and a very long horseshoe inside bar.
i sat at inside bar...over 40 draft beers available plus lots of bottled beer...and watched very busy bar staff/wait staff since it appears to be popular place. service was good, not pushy, but attentive. noise level not too bad.
very typical "roadhouse" menu (not quite as good as Texas Roadhouse, but better than a lot of chains)
i ordered seafood mac/cheese (bartender said it was very good) and he was right about that. 2 drafts, seafood mac/cheese plus 20%tip was $26. i'd go there again w/o question. Â happy trails.
No one wants to admit they're average, but Miller's Ale House just has to. Â I've been twice - once in the restaurant area, and once at the bar. Â Both times the service was very, very slow. Â I think the bartender felt for me when my beer was empty, but not enough to ask if I wanted another. Â The food was alright. Â I had fish the first visit and a burger with onion rings the second. Â The rings were good, but the rest was, well, average. Â
On the plus side, the place has a wealth of televisions. Â I was surprised that on a night when #1 was playing #3 in NCAA basketball, they decided to play the sound for the UFC fight, but there did seem to be a lot of fight fans in there. Â I think they had a decent beer special for a Saturday night. Â
So if you're looking for a place to post up for a game, drink some beers, and eat some decent food, you could do worse than Miller's Ale House. Â But as is the case with averages, you could also do better!
Overall- Miller's Ale House is ok!  Nothing good or bad.  Service was good. Food was adequate  though , nothing to make me come running back!  Maybe I am spoiled by the Ale House's in south Florida that are amazing!!!  Beer and clams on the half shell that are so fresh.  Oh gosh I am going to have another dream about seafood tonight!!!! Or maybe, there are so many other place in Tallahassee that are amazing, why settle for ok/good?

I like coming to Millers for happy hour, they have really good liquor and beer specials and the bartenders and servers are nice. When I go I like to get the Zinger mountain melt and share it with my buddies. It's huge and has great taste, especially when your a little toasted from the cheap drinks. As far as the other 1000 items on their menu, the chicken wings are really good and the fish tacos aren't bad either. I usually stick with Zingers, that's what they are known for and do well.
Review Source:On our way to Tampa from Biloxi we stayed the night in Tallahassee. We decided to give Miller's a try for dinner and we were very pleased that we did. :) The service was fast & friendly. They have a good selection of beer on tap and you can never beat dining out when your kids get to eat free! No complaints from any of us! The portions were amazing (we all left stuffed with leftovers in hand). Would recommend this place to people who live in beautiful Tallahassee and those who are passing through!
Review Source:Never again,
I ended up at Millers recently because, let's face it, there are not a lot of options in Tally on a Sunday night. After lackluster service and an ok meal, I shriek in terror as my friend points out a roach crawling on the back of my booth. Yeah it's FL, but it's a dirt roach not a giant palmetto bug. I try not to barf up my meal and leave a 3 dollar tip on a 12 dollar meal. Not even bothering to mention roaches or anything and leave.
Lo and behold our waitress, Brittany S. wrote an extra 2 bucks into both mine and my friends tip section. People like me who are irresponsible and don't scrutinize over bank statements will never notice. But not my friend, who is like a hawk and immediately called me so I could check mine.
I have a feeling most of them do it there.
Fuck that place.
Great specials. I have watched many sporting events here and the staff has never bothered us about hanging out for hours before during and after the match. I don't know what the people giving bad reviews were looking for. Maybe they should go back to the generic food and atmospere at applechillis. Millers is a great cheap pub.
Review Source:I can't speak much for the food as I only get one thing here- mild zingers with extra sauce, which I love. Nothing like "boneless wings" at applebees or the like. But according to my family back home (there are a few in Jacksonville with the same menu) they have a good selection and good value for the price even if its not the best food they ever has. The drink specials end at 7 which sucks because we like to go for Monday night football. The beer specials are good but I'm not a beer drinker. After 10 they have a few $5 specials for drinks and apps so that helps the wallet. I've only been to this one twice, both for Monday night football and they seemed pretty understaffed. Hard to get a hold of your waitress.
Review Source:In writing this review, I found myself wondering, "why do I go here?" Â That having been said, I've been there quite a few times. Â The food is your basic bar fare (burgers, fried appetizers, etc.), and it's nothing special. Â
The service is generally pretty slow, but somehow they always do a lousy job of making me feel rushed when I'm there to watch a ballgame. Â Atmosphere is casual, with a pretty generic sports bar feel.
I couldn't agree with Ed more and have had many similar conversations with my friends! Â I recently realized, to my great horror, that I had been to Miller's three times in one week, and staged an intervention with myself. Â I'm two and a half weeks off Miller's and going strong, thanks to Twelve Steps.
So basically the service sucks and you'll be hit on by bonafide creepers. Â But does Miller's have some kind of gravitational pull? Â I think the combination of $2 Fosters daily, wireless internet, a nice sunny porch and food that is edible when you're drunk combines to make it basically like a black hole. Â Where else are you going to go? Â I have friends that pay rent here. Â Don't let it happen to you!
Typical conversation before ending up at Miller's:
Me: "You guys going out tonight?"
Them: "Yeah."
Me (even though I know the answer): "Where to?"
Them (kinda with an apologetic look): "We don't know. Maybe Miller's?"
Me (resignedly): "Guh. We really should find a better place."
Them (in complete agreement): "Yeah, we totally should...but where?"
Me (in fatalistic defeat): "Yeah. Okay. So see you there..."
If you haven't had anything to eat for a month or so, this place is the best. Â If you eat on a fairly regular basis, this place is mostly horrifying. Â I had corn beef & cabbage. Â It was a pile of lunch meat, that tasted like it was soaked in sugar. Â The cabbage totally tasted like it was boiled in sugar water. Â This place doesn't even have Ales from Florida. Â Seriously, it's the same beer I could get anywhere else in the United States. Â Even just for drinking beer, this place is a waste of time.
Review Source:Your average sports bar chain with below average service, beer selection, and food.
I had the 'pleasure' of going to both this location and the one in Gainesville and both were very sub-par.
My friend and I sat at our table for 20 minutes before being served - not a good start. Â The menu has plenty of fried food, but nothing terribly original.
The single star is due to the beer selection. Â Their exotic beers were Magic Hat and a Sam's Seasonal. Â For a college town, I'm surprised this place is able to stay in business.
Went last night with a couple of friends to watch the FSU basketball game. The service here sucks. I ordered a beer and my girl ordered a champagne split (bad idea, I know). Well the waitress had no clue what my girl was asking for, she said she had never heard of it. It is on the menu though. After a few minutes the waitress comes by without any drinks and asked me what beer I ordered, she forgot. 10 minutes later, still nothing. The watress said they were looking for the champagne, what about the beer I thought? I can see the tap from where I was sitting. A few minutes later she comes back with my beer and a glass of champange. A split is supposed to come in a little bottle, which usually pours about 1 1/2 glasses. We just got one glass and got charged for the split. Not that big a deal, but if you are drinking a few of them, 1/2 a glass less everytime adds up. We then proceded to order food. She got the chicken ceaser salad and I ordered 10 hot wings with fries. The ceaser salad was very good, not overly dressed and the chicken was nice and tender. The wings on the other hand were gross. Breaded wings that were sitting in a soup of buffalo sauce. The were very soggy and the sauce wasn't very spicy. I asked the waitress for extra napkins, nothing. I see her walk by a few times, nothing. I asked her again, nothing. I'm eating sloppy buffalo wings. You would think she would bring extra napkins to begin with. Nope. I finally got fed up and went to the bar and grabbed myself a handful of cocktail napkins. She never brought the napkins I asked for. She kept apologizing for everything taking so long. We had to wait a good 10 minutes to get our check that we had asked for. I was just frustrated by the end of the night. It's a shame because I've had some good times at this place. I guess it all depends on your server. I will never order the wings again, I will stick to my usual 35 shrimp. Hard to mess that up.
Review Source:$5 pitchers of beer woohoo.....Night before the game took the girls out with another dad and we just had such a great time. Sat at a big high top table for eight people near the bar. The place was hopping and FSU fans everywhere, all just having fun.
Our waitress kept bringing over pitcher after pitcher of beer, so we never were empty. She was very busy but never left us unnoticed.
All the girls ordered the Zinger Melt entree's which consisted of boneless fried chicken wings, mild, med, or hot, sour cream, bacon bits, scallions piled high. They loved them, their favorite dish with beer.
Hubby and another dad both ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries. They devoured it, so must have been good. I ordered the chicken philly sandwich with fries, it was o.k. Do not think I would order it again, probably the zinger melt next time.
We stayed for about four hours just eating, drinking and having a fantastic time. The crowd was popping and service was very good. Split the bill in half with tip $ 58.00 a piece between two people. Not bad........
If you want good food, great drink specials in a fun atmopshere, do not pass this up.....Many fun times to be had......
