We were in Townsend for three nights while exploring Great Smoky National park last weekend.  For any of you reading this who have dietary concerns about the  traditional american diet of beef, pork, chicken, and fried food, Townsend is a difficult place to eat.  Menus at the small number in town are filled with high calorie, high fat foods.

Miss Lily's is the exception and did not disappoint.  We ate there twice for dinner. My wife enjoyed a large salad with strawberries, walnuts, and feta with a light balsamic dressing on the first night.  I had a piece of blackened trout cooked properly with a large baked potato (for which I requested and received a delightful house made vinegar rather  than the sour cream/butter duo) and steamed veggie mix (not overcooked).  a nice meal. The second night I had a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and was happy to find the chicken to be relatively free of mayonnaise.  My wife had a portabello mushroom dish on a bed of basmati rice which she enjoyed as well.    While we didn't indulge, desserts located in a glass cabinent in the restaurant are advertised as house made and looked good.

The service ice was efficient, if not overly friendly, especially the first night but in defense of the wait staff, a high maintenance party with a number of children was seated nearby.

In general, I would recommend Miss Lily's cafe while visiting Townsend. It is located directly across from the Best Western and Highland manor hotels.

Really Yummy food. Stopped im after a day in the Smoky Mountain National Park. This is a cute little reataurant off the beaten path. It is casual dining atmosphere with more fine dining food. I had their signature dish, Seafood Cakes, a combo of crab & trout. The service was excellent with all the staff saying "Hi" & how was everything?. I will go back the next time I'm in Townsend.
