Mojito's holds the dubious distinction of having the slowest service in Appleton. Â Our food arrived 58 minutes after we entered the restaurant. Â This was fortuitous since I have a policy of leaving a restaurant if it can not produce the food in one hour (exceptions for cases involving complex food such a certain French dishes).
When I ordered my Mexican dinner, the waiter asked, "How spicy do you want it.?"
I said, "Medium."
He said, "O. K., that's five on a scale of one to ten."
When the food finally arrived, it was filled with jalapeno juice that it was inedible. Â A lady (probably the owner or manager) later said "five" was their spiciest rating. Â To Mojito's credit, they removed the item from my bill.
Still, it was a pretty odd dinner consisting on corn chips, bean dip, red sauce, a dollop of guacamole, Mexican rice, and some vegetable cooked in oil.
This place was a disappointment. Â The margarita was like a watered down lemon-lime kool aid, my husband ordered a tap beer & was given a bottle "by mistake". Â I ordered the Enchiladas Cozumel which was supposed to have scallops and shrimp along with spinach and portabella mushrooms. Â The first enchilada there were 0 scallops the second there was 1. Â The shrimp were tiny and the enchiladas were just about flat there was so little filling in them. Â Definitely not worth the $15.99 I paid for them. Â My husband ordered the Burrito Diabla and he does like very spicy food, however he asked for a level 2 (out of a 1-5 scale). Â The first one was so hot he couldn't even eat it and he NEVER sends anything back at restaurants. Â He did send this back and even when they brought the 2nd one it was still quite hot. Â He never thinks food is hot, so I feel sorry for anyone who wants to try something a bit spicy and tries this. Â Our waiter was very nice and tried to be helpful, but there were so many mix ups with our order. Â So, based on this experience I would not recommend this place. Â Service was a little slow, order was inaccurate, drinks very weak and not flavorful and just not very good value for your money. Â I will definitely going back to my favorite (and smaller) local Mexican restaurant.
