Went back after some time..went for lunch yesterday. We had the artichoke dip and a steak sandwich and a burger. All were yummy! Very much improved. Server was a nice gal and took good care of us. We will be back for dinner.

Nice bar and nice staff. Prices arent the cheapest but not too bad. Also a pro is they serve tall can pbrs. This bar is located next to the stag(dive bar) and within walking distance so if you get bored or looking for some randomness, just a stumble away.

    Excellent bar
The most upscale place in woodland. Relaxed atmosphere, soft lighting, changing art displays. Not too loud (you can have a conversation without yelling), but they play music on the jukebox. Bar food is available and tasty. Excellent set up with a comfortable lounge area in the far corner. Beautiful enclosed outdoor patio.
Weekly events are calm affairs. Live music regularly.
Special events are very well done! A good place for themed parties.

    No coat check, no cover.

    Staff
Attentive and knowledgeable. The owner spends time there with friends and regulars, is very nice. Commendable liquor and wine selection. They have cocktail waitresses so you don't have to get up to order a drink. Seasonal and event-based drink menus. They'll help you with party planning.

    Atmosphere
A good place for the older crowd who still enjoy their nights out. Also frequented by more mature 20 somethings who usually show up between 10 and 11 pm. No fights; nobody looking for trouble goes here. Overall casual and friendly.

    Cons
More expensive than other bars, but a necessity to deter "shady" people.
They close early for how much business they get.

Definitely worth a go if you're in woodland looking for a nicer, more mature bar.

Yay for undercooked steak and overcooked scallops! :( Not impressed with the food here. I think I would have had a better time hanging out next door in the bar.

Went here for Valentines day dinner. Ribeye steak was raw in the middle and the steak was pretty thin. I sent it back and my 2nd steak was a more of a medium well instead of a medium but whatever....I was glad it was cooked this time. Sadly, the whole steak had this awful overwhelming burnt char flavor to it!

The other entree was the special they had that day where they paired each entree with wine. Everything was ok except the scallops were overcooked! They were rubbery and chewy! The succotash didn't really fit into that meal and the rice was just mehhhh. Our server was really nice and attentive, but I wished she told us what wine we were drinking with the entree.

I've got to give five stars to a restaurant which offers a BBQ pig buffet dinner special.....honestly, these guys deserve every customer yelp sends their way, if for no other reason then the fact that they've brought the old Morrison's building back to life with verve and style.

    Highly recommended.

I wanted to do another review. It's a long time coming  on mojo's. We going at least a couple times a month. My favorite is drink for a cause. Each month is a different drink w a portion going towards a non profit organization.  Mojo has fun theme parties for all ages. The staff are friendly and attentive.
My favorite sandwich is Mojo's steak sandwich with sweet potato fries. DELICIOUS

Excellent evening with a large group. Bartenders are great and the service staff very attentive. Prime rib is not available on the weekends. The wedge salad was great. I ordered a filet rare and they delivered... great food, great service, great prices. The only reason they're getting four stars instead of five is that they were out of good port, and they don't serve prime rib on weekends...

Checked out the Mojo's lounge for the first time tonight and was pleasantly suprised. My husband got their Wednesday prime rib special which I kept eating on as well (yum!). It was perfectly cooked, along with the bacon angus sliders that I ordered. Both were melt in your mouth goodness. The drinks were priced very well and we even ordered dessert. Everyone at the bar, as well as the diners seemed to be enjoying themselves and having a great time. The service was quick and friendly and I'm glad to have this gem in little Woodland. We will be back for sure.

Good bar. Fresh Torpedo on tap for a low price. Boont, Stella, etc. Quick service. Calm but not dead. Well lit. Comfy chairs. Nice ceiling.

Food was wonderful...split a spinach salad & steak with my husband. Our friends also split their meal & liked it too.  Would have given this review 5 stars, but the waitress omitted telling us there would be a $3 extra charge for EACH item split! So not only were the steaks charged, but the salad split as well. I just want to know ahead of time so I'm not shocked when the bill comes or let me decide to get an extra plate so I can split it myself. But the food was really good & I would go back.

Drinks, dinner w/wine. In town for a local trade show. Looking for a place to go with my work partner. Yelp came through again. Maryanne was sweet and attentive. The stuffed pork sirloin special was excellent and their wine list was pretty good too.
Ate in the lounge. The restaurant looked interesting, but quiet on a Tuesday night.
The lounge was more lively, but not too much so. Definitely good back. Pricing was reasonable also.

Mojo's Lounge and Kitchen428 are running smoothly and are pretty hot spots in Woodland.

Service is great. Everyone is always happy, smiling and willing to help. Some nights it can be packed but is well worth the wait for a table. The food is delicious and will leave you wanting to order more.

Christy and her all star team have done a great job with the place.

Mojo's and Kitchen 428 is our newest go-to place for a guaranteed good experience. The wait staff is always friendly and knowledgable and with a corkage fee of just $10, it's perfect for bringing your own bottle and enjoying a night out. We've had pretty much everything on the menu now, but the favorites are the ribeye and pan roasted rosemary chicken. There's usually a great fish special too. I love a restaurant that makes an effort to use local ingredients and they always let you know where everything came from.

The bar is a great hangout too, whether you are in the mood for a PBR or a fancy drink. Definitely try the White Linen cocktail. Very refreshing!

Oh yeah, 10% off if you ride your bike over too!

Great restaurant and lounge in the area! The whole feel of the place is very welcoming, upscale yet comfortable. They did a GREAT job renovating the location and it stays very true to the feel of the building. Drinks are always fantastic at the bar, with good specials all the time. And the food is delicious! Always creative and well made. There are events held here pretty regularly and they always go off well. Very highly recommended!

    Lounge side review...

Love this place.  Great environment, lovely rotating art and decorations, lots of free parking, stellar bar service, the whole nine.

Bar food menu is great so far.  We've tried the frito misto, the potato skins (!!!!), and the wedge salad and everything has been great.  The balsamic reduction with the potato skins was notably tasty.

Drinks are well priced for the environs, meaning you won't get $1.00 PBR's on draft (not that there's anything wrong with that) but your odds of having someone drunkenly fall into you is greatly reduced.

We went to Mojo's a couple nights ago, and I wanted to make sure I had time to think about the whole experience before posting my thoughts. The bar was great, I had the Long Island during happy hour and was very happy with the size I got for 5$. I really liked the feel and the decor, definitely a place I'd like to visit frequently if I lived closer. We had a few drinks while we waited for a table and the hostess came and got us when it was ready. The dining room isn't huge, but plenty of room. I love the creativity with the doors hanging in the rafters. The brick gives the whole place an amazing feel. We started with the salmon crab cakes and the Frito Misto. I was skeptical after reading some other reviews but it was great! Its fried food appetizer...I would have felt jipped if it came out in a small portion and done up to be pretty. I do agree that maybe the ration of calamari/prawns to veggies could have been more in the seafood's favor, but it was still great. The Salmon cakes were the best though, definitely worth sharing if you're on a date. I ordered the Rib-eye and was very pleased with my choice. After sampling everyone elses on the table, I think we chose the Curry Prawns as the winner of the night.

Long story short, for a new place they already seem like they have been around for a long time. A great place to bring a date and spend the evening. Great prices, great wine, and great food. We will be back for sure!

ok second visit to have lunch on 2/28 , slow service, waitress didnt inform us a $3.00 charge for splitting a plate? not on menu and waitress never mentioned it after receiving our bill then hearing us gripe ,i asked if we could talk to the manager then the waitress came back and said "manager offered to take it off our bill", which was nice but waitress should have said something and post this in BOLD on menu.
Water was slow getting and refills too.
Food was pretty good had the Panini split w/sweet potato fries..

Happy to have this place open... Woodland needs more dining/drinking options!

    First Visit @ Mojos
Drinks are priced good- Jack Daniels Manhattan was just how I like it!!
Brushetta App was very disappointing- tomatoes seemed canned and portion was very small. Six silver dollar sized slices of bread not worth $9 and the trio of flavors were not tasty. Potato skins arrived different from the description- white cheddar was orange and no chives... very greasy. Wedge salad was a good, classic version.
Waitress was friendly... didnt know  beers on tap or soup of day. Utensils were brought after food was dropped.

    Second Visit @ 428:
Service was slow- to be expected. Meatloaf Sandwich had good flavor thin cut slices of the meat was not what I expected. Bread was dry- needs ketchup sauce or something. My friends burger came dry too? No condiments unless asked for, even with fries as a side.

    Third Visit @ 428:
Greeting upon entry was friendly and prompt.
Portabella sandwich and sweet potato fries were pretty good. Asked for split check and it was returned all mixed up but not a big deal since we all had cash and worked it out ourselves.

Overall Im happy to welcome a new locally owned spot... hope menu changes to incorporate more interesting options. Appitizers need work. I'll def frequent the bar for drinks... can't go wrong there.

The salmon crab cakes are amazing with the siracha aioli. You can tell they are made fresh daily. I had them as an entree and it was more than enough. We also split a bowl of the butternut squash soup, I would have licked my bowl, but its not pc to do so. The 428 burger was "the best burger I've ever had in Woodland"-Jordan Motta. The drinks at the bar are yummy. Very happy with the red wine choices. The service is a work in progress on Mojo's side. But give then a chance, its new. I will be back for the Grand Opening Gala February 25, 2012!!!!!

Had dinner here on Friday night.  It was exciting to see the old Morrison's Bar full again!  Even though we didn't have reservations (I will be sure to make them in the future!) we were able to be seated right away.  I like a menu that's not too busy, and 428's fit the bill.  I was looking forward to the lamb shanks, but the kitchen ran out- must be a sign of a good meal!  Ordered the marinated skirt steak, instead.  Hubby had the rib eye steak.  We indulged in the frito misto as our appetizer, and it was fabulous!  Servers were friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere was great, and the food was fantastic!  As a person who is gluten free, I like that bread is optional- I know that once food is put on the table, it can't be reused, so I always feel wasteful if bread is brought to me when I don't ask for it.  I hope the community will continue to be supportive of this new addition, it was long overdue!  We will be definitely be back!

First lunch should not take over an hour. If Mojo's doesn't take care of this issue now, the lunch crowds will eventually not pick them.
Wait time for food was way to long. I was surprised by how many workers but only one waiter to take food orders AND carry out the food. TWO guys filling water glasses but nothing else.
The food was so so. Need a better cole slaw on the pull pork sandwich, burger has a burnt taste.

Had a wonderful preview meal there last night. The food is first-rate. The staff is well-trained. The ambiance is the best in the Woodland/ Davis area. Christy Hayes has done a terrific job in bringing fine dining to this town.
