Went with friends during a day trip to Galveston. The place smelled like dirty mop water, and there was no one inside. We stayed there and opened up one of the window wall things at the front and were able to watch as everyone else peeked in and then went off the other bars. Maybe it gets crowded at night, who knows. Overall, my experience was pleasant, but I had plenty of people to keep me entertained and engaged. I don't think I would go back.
Review Source:People of Galveston. Where were you on St Patty's Day?! I know it was a Sunday but to be 3 out of 10 people at this bar was just crazy! We came to Molly's with high hopes of a good time. There were not any specials or anything, and I thought this was an Irish bar! The bartenders were nice enough but we just had a couple of drinks and left it at that. I really like the nice wood interior. They also have a jukebox and pool table for your entertainment. The bathrooms were nothing to brag about, they still felt sticky from the night before. I will probably be back because I like dive bars, but it's not at the top of my list.
Review Source:Whenever I do hit up a bar in Galveston, I always end up here at Molly's. The place is chill and I like it. It's dimly lit and you kinda feel like you're in a cave? but with a bar in it. :) Right next door is a somewhat of a mini club, I believe. So if you've been drinkin a lot of whisky and feelin a little frisky.. head on over there and do up the dancefloor. What else, it seemed like everyone was taking shots here last night. Bartenders must make em' strong! That's always fun.
The place does have a juke box. It's great up until avsomeone tries to pay an extra dollar to skip your song. Ha. Great songs to choose from. Have fun choosing your favorite jams!
i picked this place randomly, the old wooden look caught my attention so instead of driving back to houston during rush hour, i went for a couple of beers. im amazed, a pint of guiness for $4.50. life is good. they dont serve any food and there was no music, radio or jukebox playing. (just tvs tunned into the red socks/indians game) so it was really lonely there.
i was there from 6 to 8pm and only saw two more people come in.
would i go back? i dont know, if i could find guiness for $4.50 somewhere more animated in galveston...probably not.
