Monkey's Pub N Grub

Limited drink selection, slow service (one bartender looked me *in the eye* twice before another finally wandered over to take my order), food was mediocre.  DON'T go on karaoke night, your ears will bleed.  All in all I've given this place a few chances and won't be going back.

Ok I already knew it was going to be a dive bar from the reviews I read.We went Saturday night for the "Hunger Must Die" benefit.I will say I will NEVER go back to this sh**hole place.All you can smell in that place is the sewer system that is definately in need of repair.The food was rancid and the drinks cost too much for what they were.Not worth the drive to Sachse.

Yes, this place is in itty-bitty little Sachse, Texas, and is a little bit divey, but that doesn't mean it's a bad place at all.
The owner is a doll; the "slow service" that has been complained about, I understand, but I still don't think it is a reason to knock on the staff.  They all mingle and join in the antics of the patrons, and I actually really like that.  Being remembered only my second time back without even making much of an impact the first time really stands out to me.
I've been frequenting here often with my brother, and it's been a lot of fun so far.  During the week there is glorious karaoke, and always a poker game going on in the back, which is where we spend a lot of our time.  I mean, the drinks are what they are, but who expects otherwise, really?  Also, who goes to a biker bar for the food?  Monkey's is great, and I'll always embrace an opportunity to drop by.
