Don't let reviews fool you Monte Real is the BEST PLACE TO EAT in Tellico Plains. Â Ate there 3 times during our stay and the food and service was excellent. The first time was lunch had the lunch cheese chili relleno. Â The next time we pulled up for dinner. Â We stayed in the car for a bit. Looking at map planning the next days trip. And the waiter came out. Â He said can I help you I am really familiar in these parts. Â How nice was that. Â We said no going to eat was just planning our trip for tomorrow. Â That night I had the chili rancheras. Â Oh my god. It was so good. Â The last time before we headed home was Arrachera- Â thin slices ribeye steak, cheese and chicken stuffed bell pepper, and a cheese enchilada. And rice and salad. Â Every thing was great. An such good flavor. Â Not like the other mom and pop places that only know how to cook a hamburger. Â If u ever eat at Tellicafe. Â Don't get the Mac and cheese. Â I still haven't figured out where u get orange cheese. Â Unless it was left over from the rations u got during the depression.
Review Source:Great, truly authentic Mexican food. I was visiting my parents in Tellico and we decided to eat there for dinner one evening. I expected the typical Mexican restaurant menu, but was pleasantly surprised to find some items typically not found outside of border states like Texas and California. I had the chicken molé, which was excellent. Service was fast and friendly and prices reasonable. The staff was very accommodating with special requests. I'm so excited that Tellico has such an excellent addition to the list of dining options.
