Montsweag Roadhouse

Have passed this place many times but never stopped -- looks a little like, well, a roadhouse, which we weren't sure was the best option with a passel of kids in tow.

Based on the reviews, we checked it out, and it was excellent. Bar had some good action for an early afternoon, but we sat out in the back dining room, which was about as wholesome as it gets (old barn decor). Service was fine. Food surpassed expectations -- our family of five got a pretty broad selection of stuff, from the fish tacos to a Philly cheesesteak to pizza. Everyone was happy, and the check didn't break the bank.

LOVE this place! I live near by so when I don't feel like cooking dinner I take a right into the Roadhouse! Whenever I have people come visit I am sure we swing by.

The fish tacos and burgers are perfect, the staff is so friendly and chill. I feel completely comfortable rolling in here after work by myself. There is either someone to have a conversation with or the newspaper. The beer selection is great too. I have never had a bad experience here and am happy that it is my local pub!

Love the Roadhouse! I would be there more often if I could. Best place to hang out no matter who you are, the food is great and the drinks are not watered down. If you are on a budget they have specials a few times a week and you can sit at the large bar or at a table. I dragged my women social group there and we had the best turnout we have ever had and everyone loved it.Try the Roadhouse Calamari, you will love it. Upstairs bar for weekend nights when they have a band or for private parties/meetings/groups. Call the owner to reserve the room, I have had many metings there.
