Sarah's Cafe

Mixed  experience.  Lobster roll had celery which is the one food that I don't care for.  The waitress kindly picked out the big chunks for me so that was above and beyond. Kudos to her for understanding my distress. We sat out on the balcony overlooking the place where we wanted to eat but only accepts cash. We were too lazy to go to an ATM or unwilling to shell out ATM fees.  I figured that a restaurant in Wiscasset must serve steamers and lobster but I was mistaken.  My DC ordered a very nice Cobb salad adorned with delicious crab cakes.  The mixed drink I ordered for $7.00 was not worth finishing.  Tasted really sweet and overpowering.  It was a nice end to a great day at the beach.

I am local to the area and go to Sarah's from time to time and I usually leave satisfied. Their chicken salad sandwich is great and the bread is tasty. The haddock chowder is delicious with lots of haddock. No skimping!  The waitresses are friendly but I always feel a little rushed but I think that is more because they are short staffed not because they are rude. Check it out, Sarah's is better then most of the areas food and the lovely ocean view is a plus.

Although I found the haddock to be delicious, our waitress was not very friendly and the service was very slow.  Still, the food was very good.  We were a rather large group of six and four more were going to join our party but we were told they could not hold the table, which I found to be bad business, especially since they were only five minutes away.  Unfortunately, they seated others at the table we were hoping to have for our other group just before they arrived.  It was my first time here and I will probably return again sometime to try something else.  Everyone at the table enjoyed what they ordered but none were happy with the service as drinks were not refilled on time and service was slow.
