Bar-tender had a heavy hand. Â Stiff, cheap drinks!!!
Excellent dive bar! Pool tables, good juke box, friendly service (worthy of note, the bouncer/person at the door was even vey friendly...), friendly patrons - some girl took me jacket off and said welcome, it was funny.
Dark, music, sports on ESPN, snow falling outside... look out the window at the snow, take another drink.
Best dive bar in Frisco - by far.
How many times have you heard this: "I really wanted to love this place."
Dive bar, cheap PBR, burgers. Â Sounds like a recipe for success, but every time I go I'm left disappointed by the burgers and the beer selection. Â
If you like PBR or Coors, and you want a $10 burger, this is your place.
A local dive is always a cozy place to hang out when traveling. If you are friendly and engaging. If not, go to Applebees and spare the locals your attitude. LOL
VERY limited beer selection... Lite and PBR drafts and just a few bottles. This is in a state chock-a-block with awesome micro and craft brewers. Pretty lame.
The good news is the food. Limited again, the menu is tiny... but the focus is good. Bar food done right. Crispy fries. Crispy fish that is not greasy at all. Toasted buns. I like the fish sandwich. : )
I love dive bars. I really do. And when the dive bar is full of kitsch, folks who love to tell stories, and a friendly bartender who pours well, well, hell. I'm a fan. We stopped by for a drink after dinner one night. We wound up chatting with a man from Dundee, Scotland. Everyone in the bar participated a spirited conversation about whether receiving a two-dollar bill was good luck or bad luck, and most importantly, people were genuinely happy. Happy wins.
Review Source:A group of friends and I came here after doing a hike just up the street in Frisco. Â We were in serious need of Coors and Burgers stat. Â We had passed this place earlier in the day and was recommended to come here. Â This place is a total dive but hey we love dives. Â We were grungy from traveling and hiking so we fit right in. Â We all ordered burgers and Coors... perfect combo. Â Place was nice, food was good and the price wasn't bad. Â I would come back for sure if I was in Frisco. Â Perfect location.
Review Source:As has been noted again and again, this is a dive bar for locals. The food is average at best, and a bit overpriced. Very small menu- mostly hamburgers and the like. They have Miller Lite and PBR on tap, and you can get a pitcher of either for $6 during happy hour (5-7).
We came here to watch a Broncos game after a day of snowboarding, and were glad we chose this place- there were TVs everywhere blaring the game, and the energy was high. I thought the place was going to explode when the Broncos won. The people were very friendly, and there were even some free wings (!!!) that someone had brought to share. Awesome.
In conclusion, come here to escape tourists, watch football and drink cheap beer with the Frisco locals.
This place has the most horrendous customer service I have ever experienced. Â Nevermind that you are annoyed because a customer is asking you a question.... Â Do you actually think it is okay to treat another human being this way? Â Don't even bother staying for the food. Â They don't really want you there anyway.
Review Source:This is definitely a locals hang out, not so much for the tourist - i.e. myself and family.
They just have PBR and Coors on tap, that's it. They have a better selection of bottled beer, but I can always buy that at the store. I didn't try any meals there but their appetizer selection is SMALL - fries, chips & salsa.
It's a dive, which is never a bad thing, but this didn't have anything that would encourage me to go back.
Finding a good place to eat AND Drink in Summit County that leaves you sated after a hard day of skiiing without emptying your pockets has been a continual 3-year search for me. Â Finally, I can say, "Found it!!!"
Do not expect avant-garde quisine. Â Expect burgers and fries for $7-10 that far outweigh the $10 burgers on the mountain and McDonald's in both substance and taste.
Don't expect frilly drinks and a huge selection of foreign beers. Â Expect a full bar with a heavy pour and $2 pint drafts.
Don't expect white tablecloths and patient waiters...You get readable tables with gouges and postcards from all over the world, and good-natured servers with names like "Dirty" that swoop over and get the job done fast with a wink and smile.
This place has been here for Decades and is a Frisco institution. Â How did I miss it?
The Moose Jaw. Â Whats better than a $2 in a Mountain Ski Town? Â Not a dam thing. Â In the land of $6 Bud Light's its very refreshing to to be able to get a Beer and Burger for less than 10 bucks!
Good Burgers, Cheap Beer! Â Nothing fancy but if you want that stay at the Mountain bars and waste your money.
They didn't split our bill, there where three of us, but I am sure I will be going back with friends and I will be their turn to pay.
I'm not allowed to say much about our experience, because my girlfriend is acting like a 16 year old, which I guess is kinda hot in a way.
So I guess read her review.
I can say that the burgers are great, the beer is flowing, and the thin mountain air makes the staff a little goofy - in a good way. Â I had a great experience, and would definitely recommend this quaint little spot for a plate of grub on the way back the mountains... Yum and fun!!
This is what I call a locals bar for sure.... I talked to some of the funniest people hanging out here. Â I have eaten dinner here, I have played pool and drank here and I have been here in Summer and winter months... Fun place to go to relax after a long day.
Great barkeeps and pretty good food!
I wish I could quote some of the things I heard on the last visit.... but... I would no longer have a yelp account... use your imagination. :)
I once remonstrated a few people a while ago for reviewing a dive bar for their exemplary burgers when the atmosphere, music (in the case of the other bar provided via jukebox), and general employee malaise were the draw to said establishment (Casino El Camino in Austin, TX). Â It is now my turn to review a dive bar for its burgers. Â
I'm not certain if it was the long day driving through the snowy mountains on windy roads, but I was ravenous. Â (Loveland Pass is easily terrifying for a person who lives on an almost completely flat city at sea level-Houston.) Â My burger and fries were amazing. Â Savory without being terribly greasy. Â
I love the atmosphere. Â 70s era softball kitsch indeed! Â Framed team photos and newspaper clippings blanket the walls. Â The tables are awesome. Â Many of them are old weathered wood with holes where the knots used to be. Â Others are resin coated protecting postcards "addressed to the bar." Â I can only imagine that decades ago there was a bar event where everyone was invited to write postcards to the bar. Â In fact Ozzy and Harriet must have been there, or perhaps they just sent a postcard to Moose Jaw years and years ago from their black and white picture tube. Â :)
I have been going to this place for 25 years and hands down the best burger in the Summit County - Erics in breck and the Goat in Key do not even compare.. go to these places if you want a dried up beef biscuit..
This place has so much character it oozes of you when leaving.. Like Ryan says the crowd is a little rough and stuck in the 70's/80's  - you could get in a tussle if you try an hustle the wrong guy on the pool tables in the back..
I suggest the Motherlode burger with all the accoutrement..
PS. If you move to the Summit County they have the best Softball Team!
Olde skool local's-only ski bar.
The divey kind of joint where a mulleted dude named 'Don Johnson' will regale you with endless yarns - most of which conclude with him raising a remonstrative hand to his enchanting ex-wife.
The kind of place where the 'back in the day' stories are about skiing UP the mountain and hiking DOWN.
Enough 80's hair metal, Bud bottles, and softball trophies to initiate a time warp.
