I waited a day before posting this review - I was too frustrated last night to write it.
Let me start off by saying that ordinarily, I would rate Blue River as 5 stars. I've been there dozens of times for happy hour, and have never had a bad experience.
Yesterday afternoon (6/21) I took my parents there for happy hour. No one was at the host stand, so we sat ourselves outside. No big deal - it's happy hour, that's what you do. And then we waited, and waited, and waited. No one showed up to wait on us or hand us a menu, no one even acknowledged our presence. Two servers came outside (tall male and a brunette female) while we were waiting, looked at our table, and kept moving. We could see just inside the restaurant from where we were sitting outside, and clearly the previously mentioned brunette, and another brunette waitress were too busy buying/selling jewelry at another table to bother with us.
If it had been busy, waiting 10-15 minutes would have been annoying, but understandable. There were only 5 tables of people (including us) in the whole place, and as I mentioned before - at least three servers "working" at that time.
So, we left. And no one acknowledged us on the way out either. Someone else got our business last night - and I'll be thinking twice about going back there after work with my colleagues again.
We stopped here early for a lite meal on our last night in Breck. We made it for happy hour and we were only sorry that we didn't visit earlier in the week. The waitress was knowledgeable and efficient.  We each had martinis from the menu.  I had the dirty jalapeño and it had just enough kick.  My husband had the blanc Cosmo and it found it excellent as well. We shared 2 apps and that was quite enough for our dinner. The bruschetta was piled high and the goat cheese was just the right touch. We also had the 3 sliders, one each prawn, beef brisket and pork.
We should have come here earlier in our stay so we could have tasted more. We had martinis so no wine this evening, but the wine list looked very nice.
If we return to Breckenridge we will visit Blue River Bistro!
