We stopped at the Moose after our Tubbs Hill hike and savored the local FireStone IPA.  I enjoyed the beer so much I look for it all the time now in my grocery markets.  We sat outside and people watched.  The bartender was aloof at first but became attentive; I think that is how they function there.  Overall the atmosphere was very relaxing!

Stay away!  Terrible food and service.  Sat for 20 minutes and no service.  Went to bar to get drink myself, after another 15 minutes, ask bartender if I could get drinks.  Bartender says we're busy, if you don't like it, go somewhere else.  Worst place in town.

A close friend and I were looking for a place to get lunch and maybe some drinks on a weekday afternoon after spending a few hours on the beach. As soon as we walked in we were immediately greeted, but that's where the quality service ended. We made our way to the lounge patio where we waited for a few minutes for menus. No dice. I had to grab them myself. Following that after deciding what we wanted, we sat there waiting for a waitress for a good 15-20 minutes, even attempting to flag her down a few times with no success. Despite seeming pretty slow, the waitress didn't even once bother to stop by our table. Hungry and frustrated, we left and found another place to have lunch. I can't speak of the food quality as we weren't even able to order, but this place, unfortunately, probably had the worst service I have ever experienced.

I have been here several times with my wife and friends. This is a place where you have to be aggressive to get service at the bar when it is busy. When we were there the wait staff was nonexistent away from the bar. All said the bar staff was quite helpful with tasting samples from the taps. We ended up with a few pints of Moose drool which is a keeper. I also ordered a Vodka tonic well which was weak to say the least. I think the trick here is to order a call drink which ended up much stronger for not much more expense. The music is hit and miss depending on what night you show up. Overall I would come back and try it again.

OK place to have a beer, didn't have anything to eat, so can't speak to that.  Other comments posted on here concerning grumpy staff may be true, but I didn't find that to be the case with my bartender; very friendly and engaging guy.

Our bartender was great!  He was friendly and a good sport when we teased him about the previous "grumpy" comments.

Best place downtown to go get a great beer in a huge mug. Atmosphere is great and they have some really fun events going on throughout the week, such as trivia night. Be prepared for crappy service and if you dont tip well expect to have all future orders ignored for the rest of the evening. I also wish they would replace their broken pool sticks, I would go more often.

I agree with the comment about the slightly aloof, if not a little grumpy staff comment, but when I got the bartenders attention (first tried to talk to doofus washing glasses and he just stared at me without asking what I may need or want) he was kind and attentive.

Really spacious, fun place with great live music and a very laid-back atmosphere.

Great bar food and beer. The bartender gave me a sample of Moose Drool - which was all I needed to order up a mug. I did order the smaller mug as the Moose Mug was a 34 oz serving for a reasonable price - a little more than I wanted to drink. We ordered the BBQ pork and BBQ beef sandwiches with a side order of onion rings. We enjoyed trying to guess the answers as the bar conducted a trivia game over their speaker system. A band was setting up to play as we left. Only in Idaho could we find a bartender at the Moose Lounge who is a Chicago Cubs fan (his hat was the give-away).

Delicious pickle chips, slightly grumpy staff, funny-tasting Coke from the soda gun, the drummer from Three Dog Night on stage for jam night along with really nice house musicians (yay sax lady!), and more ripped Russian lads than you can shake a matryoshka at: not bad, CDA, not bad. And that was just a Tuesday.

This is the Moose Lounge, not to be confused with the Moose Lodge!  This place is much more hip.  It was quite full when I visited(a Saturday night)...I got bumped and ended up wearing a bit of my beer.  I don't LOVE wearing beer, but it was a good sign that so many people wanted to be there.  There was live music at the time.  They were good, but clearly there isn't professional sound...my people and I really wished we could hear the female vocalist a bit more.  I guess this is the sort of thing you get when there isn't a cover charge and music is provided.  It was well decorated...hip lodge style...moose head, elk head between cool micro beer signs.  They offer a great selection of beer if you are into that, like I am!  and the option of a moose mug(large variety)-if yer feelin' real thirsty.  Also, a non-smoking place...which I love.  It seems they have trivia and open-mic...pool table, etc.  Check it out!
