LOVE the Fruit & Nut Pancakes! Exceptional omlets as well. Their Eggs Benedict is decent but I've had better Hollandaise sauce elsewhere so I'll stick to pancakes and omlets in the future.
I've gone here for lunch as well. Their buffalo chicken salad is okay. Not terrible, but I've had better. They really are a breakfast outfit. The prices are great and the portions usually allow for leftovers which is nice. Also the staff is very friendly and the service is quick.
My boyfriend and I come to this Mother's every weekend, without fail. Sometimes we even go twice... we're a hungry couple!
The servers are always very kind and quick to bring out the food. The portions are large. I've never had a bad experience with anything I've ordered. I am also a low carb eater so I will always request tomato slices instead of hash browns, and add or take away things from an order. The server is always very accepting of this.
Matt is our favorite server! Very funny guy.
We will continue to eat there because the service is good, the food is amazing, and we are always treated in a polite and kind way.
Mother's is your average family restaurant, but with a little extra effort on the service end of things.
It's a large restaurant with plenty of parking (and plenty of handicapped parking). The restaurant is clean and the choices are plentiful.
I visited here on a weekday and we had the most attentive server. It was a nice change of pace at a restaurant like this one. Their glasses are huge, so even though they have free refills on soda, you won't be looking every two minutes for your server. Another plus.
We ordered an omelet with hash browns and an English muffin, a French dip with hash browns and a BLT club with french fries. Â Portions were plentiful. The food arrived hot. The au jus was seasoned and not just a hot bowl of grease, so that was good.
And when we left, the owner gave us a coupon for a future visit. Overall, this place is a-ok.
This is a breakfast place with a lot of choices. I like a breakfast menu that's unique and creative. It's typical diner type food. Lots of it, basic, and for the most part it's good. Our scrambled eggs were salty this last time. I had raisin bread French toast that was good. There's no melt in your mouth cuisine here, but if you're hungry, it's a good pick.
Review Source:Ok place. Local breakfast joint with the normal menu. Nothing crazy exciting but a big variety  We each had an omelet. Wish they shared how big they were- could have fed a family of 4. The size of the omelet is the 3 star rating. Otherwise service, hash browns, English muffins would have us saying a 2.5.
Review Source:I thought this place was awful. Â I've only gone once, but in this instance once is enough. Â There are just too many breakfast places in the area to waste my hard earned cash here. Â
True, they have been in the area for a long time...so I guess they must be doing something right. Â However, this day everything was all wrong.
The server was extremely forgetful. Â First, she forgot my coffee. Â Secondly, she forgot the side of bacon we had ordered (ahh back in my bacon eating days). Â The other thing that irritated me was that I ordered an omelet and requested tomatoes to be added. Â I understand it was a special request, but if a request is made and agreed upon, it needs to be honored. Â When I received my omelet, it was terrible. Â Probably one of the worst I've had if not the worst, ever. Â And it had no tomatoes in it, not that it could help that nasty ass mess. Â When I mentioned to the waitress that there were no tomatoes, she attempted to rectify the problem by bringing my a bowl of tomatoes, the gesture was kind but it was too little, too late. Â
My bf was equally unimpressed with his food, although not as disappointed as me. Â We vowed to never return. Â The service was haphazard and the food bordered on inedible.
Also, don't judge the Randall Rd. location based on this review. Â They actually are no longer owned by the same people. Â I've eaten there as well and it was by far superior to this location.
It's kind of funny... when I go out to eat by myself I feel like a food critic. The entire time, I'm thinking to myself about what I'll be writing in my review. My morning at this little mom and pop style diner was decent. My server was SUPER sweet, albeit a little forgetful (She was young and quite possibly a little new, so I'll forgive her forgetting to ask how I wanted my eggs--thankfully I realized it quickly!)
Speaking of my eggs--almost perfectly poached! A little runny in the whites for my tastes but overall pretty good.
The chorizo skillet was decent (I added avocado) but it was missing something...I think that tomatoes or salsa would have given it a little more oomph. The hash browns in the skillet were stellar--super crispy! Lots of avocado in the skillet, and served with a tasty English muffin.
The place was a little bit messier than I usually like my diners, but it wasn't too shabby.
Overall, an A-OK experience from start to finish.
At the end, I got a dum dum, so I was happy!
If I have plans to go to breakfast with a friend, this is where we go! Â It simply doesn't get better than Mother's for breakfast! Â I am not very adventurous and always get eggs, ham and hash browns, but I love it every time! Â Mother's has great food and is operated by great people.
Review Source:For being the "best of blah, blah, blah" in the local newspaper out there, I had higher hopes for this place. There was a busy brunch crowd, had to wait 10 minutes for a table, but the line moved quickly and I had a good feeling about this place... Â
That all changed after we were seated. The waitress came up quickly and took the order, but then disappeared for 20 minutes. Couldn't  get coffee or water from the many busboys wandering around lost (we asked four times). Eventually found the hostess and asked her for coffee, water and silverware... she got on it and suddenly 20 seconds later our waitress (now annoyed) poured two half cups of coffee and wandered off. No water, no silverware.
Another 10 minutes go by and our waitress shows up with ONE set of silverware, but we'd already given up and asked the hostess again. She was thoroughly confused as to how we managed to get silverware. Â Ask her again for water, no luck.
10 more minutes go by (for a total wait time for food of 40 minutes!) and the food shows up. New waitress brings us food but missing one order of pancakes and no toast for any of us. We beg for water.
5 minutes go by and we snag our waitress again to ask where the toast is and AGAIN ask for water. Finally, she goes and immediately gets water and the missing toast. Total time to get complete meal (eggs, pancakes and toast!) - about 50 minutes.
Decent food but bad service - Â not worth the hassle. Plenty of other diners in this area with better service and decent breakfast .
So I've been to Mother's twice now. Â The first time, didn't exactly leave a great taste in my mouth. Â But the second time going there was pretty good. Â It was a special there called Egg Mountain. It was basically hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, ham, eggs, and cheese all mixed up, and came with pancakes or toast. Â It was pretty delicious with some hot sauce. Â The pancake reminds me of vanilla cake for some reason. Â If you're in the area, try it...!
Review Source:This place was voted the best breakfast restaurant in the Fox Valley. Â The food was good, but not great. Â It seemed very clean, and our waitress was really fantastic. Â
I tried one of their their omelets, which was very large and tasty. Â This came with a *giant* pancake, which was also very good. Â I didn't try the coffee because I went there during the dinner hour. Â
Like most breakfast-y restaurants in this area, the prices are pretty high, but the portions are also huge. Â I typically end up taking home over half of my meal.
Overall, I this was a good restaurant, and I'll definitely return. Â I think I still like Apple Villa better, but this restaurant is actually open in the evening.
