I'll have a side of racism with my steak please. Â Food was pretty decent (we both had steaks, baked potatoes and salad-- ask for dressing on the side, trust me) waitress was very friendly. Â The table of 5-6 local yokels loudly spewing their ass-backwards political views on *gasp* MEXICANS, well, I could have done without. Â Oh yeah, and the creepy leering as I waked by.. (Sorry sir, your toothless grin is just not doing it for me) Â Yes, its a tiny town in AR, so what was I expecting, right? Â I know, I know....
Review Source:We stopped here on a cross-country trip and found the service to be much better than the food. Our waitress was a delight - friendly, helpful, attentive and very sweet; sadly, she was the best part of our dining experience. The burgers were mediocre, and they don't have mashed potatoes on the menu which detracted from an otherwise tasty chicken fried steak. The rest of the dinner for our party of four was entirely forgettable.
Because Mt. Ida is a small community, there aren't many choices for in-town dining. The Mt. Ida Cafe is good for a hot meal, but not a destination.
They take no credit or debit cards. There is an ATM at the gas station down the street; be sure to bring cash with you (or a checkbook).
