We ate here this mast Sunday about noon and were not impressed with most of our meal.  My sandwich was the Reuben and was good  - based on their menu their strong suit seem to be the sandwiches.  The sides were just OK.
My Mom had a waffle and was not impressed. Â It was a dry waffle served on a paper plate with a prepackaged thing of syrup and butter - period. Â It felt as if we were across the street at McD's. Â When you take a 91 Yo old out for lunch you hope for a more memorable comment that "This is not as good as the places we usually go".
My wife had a salad and it was the saddest looking lettuce that I have ever seen. Â Part of a head of lettuce that most of use would not use were prominent. Â I asked her about it later and she said that it was her fault - that the last time she had ordered a salad she had also been let down. Â
Like many others we love the fact that they can now sell beer etc. Â And my wife will continue to use the place as a meeting point for coffee but for anything other than a sandwich I would not return
Went up 2 weeks ago for Jazz night and had a real good time. Enjoyed the band very much. There was a $10 cover charge, which they said went to the band, which is fine with me. They deserved more than that. Yes it is a cozy place but the crowd was very friendly, probably 40 people or so and all the tables were full. All I had was a glass of wine so I can't comment on the food. I will be returning for Jazz night again and would recommend it to all. I'll try the food next time everyone there said it was very good.
Review Source:Met with some girlfriends here on Tuesday and it turns out if was karaoke night. Â It was good to meet Chris and she took great care of us. Â The food was really good and there was good variety on the menu. Â Had Seafood Bisque and Salad and it was delicious, they served the salad with a housemade blueberry vinaigrette. Â The rest of our party had other sandwiches, someone had the Sinatra and it was also good. Â I ordered the "Twinbrook Deli Twist" as a to go sandwich for my husband and it was very good and true to the original also. Â Anyone who used to get cold cut subs at the Twinbrook Deli and has a craving for the original, this is the place to go! Â The coleslaw is homemade and very good. Â It was nice to dine here and I enjoyed the karaoke, although it was very loud for such a small place, so we did have a hard time hearing each other talk, but we still all had a good time. Â I had a hot hibiscus tea and it was good. Â They offer a wide variety of milk shakes and other frozen drinks, smoothies, frappes, as well as hot coffee, lattes, assorted pastries, etc. Â They are also now serving beer and wine. Â They have some tables in the back on the patio for summer nights and we might try that next time we come. Â I would like to come back for Jazz night and make a date of it. Â If I do, I will post another review. Â All in all a winner and I am looking forward to a return visit.
Review Source:My daughter has been here when friends are playing and it can get pretty packed. Â We went up this morning for breakfast (Sunday) and it was really good.
We had:
Ham, Egg, and Cheese on Flatbread (very good)
Ham, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich on French Toast (good)
Kids had Belgian Waffles.
Throw in two large coffees and overall the experience was great, music wasn't too loud, just playing good stuff, records all over the walls.
It's small, think a typical starbucks size, just add a love for music and good food.
Definitely recommend.
Truly a great place to be, eat, hang, etc... The owner (Randy) has to be one of the most down to earth, kind hearted, easy going, happy upbeat phenomenal kind of guy !!! I lived in Damascus for about 2 years and still frequent the area often. I stumbled upon the place by accident and me being a music lover "music cafe" just clicked in my mind and it was just great, start to finish. Everything about the place is great ! It's the kind of place that caters to their guests. I'm a big fan of the "Belgian waffle" and normally they usually stop making them at 12 noon but no matter the time of day, they'll always fire up the waffle iron as long as you're ok with the 15-20 wait time for it to heat up ! I just can't recommend them enough ! Great place for breakfast/lunch  sandwiches and not to mention the frequent live music ! During the nicer months they'll usually set up in the parking lot and have a BBQ while live music is FREE on stage for all to hear and enjoy ! I guess I'll close with this, in my opinion, there aren't too many places anymore that'll level with you and actually treat you with the respect that "you" believe you deserve... It terms of speaking to you like an equal rather than subordinate, but Music Cafe is sure to deliver that down home "treat others like you'd want to be treated" kind of courtesy. Stand up establishment !

Pros:
The only place in Damascus with free Wifi.
It's local. Support your local business owners!
The food is ok. Takes too long for what it is though. And if you want it "to-go," call ahead or you'll be waiting around a bit too long.
Cons:
Hope a Panera doesn't come to town or The Music Cafe will be a goner. Not only because it's a well-known brand, but because Panera's service, food, and drinks are better.
For a placed named "The Music Cafe," I really wish they would invest in satelite radio. Or at least an iPod. They play the area radio stations, complete with commercials, at top volume during the day. No thanks.
Countless patrons were whisking in the Music Café to enjoy a nice warm bagel with cream cheese or a chocolate croissant with an energizing espresso or creamy latte. Perusing their expansive menu of good eats is much more than coffee treats.  There aren't many places in Damascus that arouse the olfactory senses with the sweet aroma of freshly cooked waffles or where you can order a tall cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade.  Plus, they have a great selection of gourmet sandwiches, salads, soups, AND the most succulent, cheesy East-Coast pizza.  You'll definitely get your money's worth with the generous portions of pizza slices.
What amazes me is how the Music Café culinary experience is heightened by the exciting variety of live music entertainment - open mic nights, Karaoke competitions, and an over the top music venue. Â
To give you a perspective of the quality musicians at the Music Café, this coming Friday, December 12, they will have a Special Show with the Latin Queen of Soul (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.latinqueenofsoul.com&s=c12f6e6a3f0c21bb43bef93bfaaadeec105552bafbe8ba8c7994ae6cfa5fc27b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.latinqueenofs…</a>) Meritxell Negre.  Wow!  A quaint little music venue in Damascus is entertaining their patrons with the sensational international alto-soprano singer, who just toured as "Peaches" with the R&B/Pop legend, Peaches & Herb. Â
Call it a quaint little music spot, soon Music Café patrons will sip their favorite cup of coffee listening to a World-Class show by the Latin Queen of Soul with Acoustic Alchemy band members, the famous brothers, Gary Grainger (Bassist) and Greg Grainger (Drummer).  Check out YOUTUBE VIDEO: "LATIN QUEEN OF SOUL" MERITXELL NEGRE SINGS ORIGINAL MATERIAL" <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DJs8MQ59ZbL0&s=3b01fc613e0e193981ef6c68ac69e09c1b435f44c010e813e269f0732490a4fc" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.youtube.com/w…</a> Â
By the way, if you're not into Pop, Jazz, R&B, or Latin music, in any given night, you never know what surprise may be in store.  You might also encounter a Rock, Blues, or funk band.  And you can always ensure to top your Music Cafe  nocturnal outings with a sweet scoop of hand-dipped ice cream, or a second heart-warming latte for the road.
This place is a great surprise. Â I was simply looking for a good cup of joe and I got that and much more. Â The breakfast was simple but excellent. Â I get wait to get back here for a night of great music and really see this place in full swing. Â If you are in Damascus (or close) you need to check this place out. Â

This evening was spent listening to bawdy renaissance faire songs - as The Interpreters were holding an album recording session at The Music Cafe for their first CD release. Attendance was by invitation only.
I've only been to Damascus once before, so I had no idea what I was in for. It took me about 1.5 hours to drive up there from Haymarket, VA, we were supposed to be there by 6:00 pm, I left the house at 3:30 pm and got there early!
The Music Cafe is a cool, quaint, hip little venue - not only do they serve coffee and espresso drinks, but also an assortment of cold, icey fruity drinks, soup, salads, sandwiches, and pizza.
I ordered a triple shot soy latte, the "Stairway to Freebird" sandwich, which contained: Smoked turkey, crisp bacon, and havarti cheese, crisp romaine lettuce, plum tomatoes and sharp honey mustard, served on Ciabatta bread. I also had a bowl of the creamy seafood bisque and a bottle of water.
The soup was good, although I would have preferred that it had been served a bit hotter temperature-wise. Â A friend of mine also gave me a taste of her French bread pizza topped with crab and who knows what cheese - it was absolutely heavenly - never had a pizza like that before! Far out!
The Music Cafe hosts a variety of musical acts and other performers, they also offer free Wifi.
Check it out next time you are in Damascus!
