11:30 a.m. and we're the only customers, yet we waited 36 minutes for two hot dogs. We had chips-n-salsa while we waited and were tortured by bad, LOUD canned music (Cher still beleeeeeeves in love....) The music was so loud we had to shout across the table to each other. Three times we asked Waitress to turn it down, which she did . . . 1 decibel at a time. . . with an eye-roll and a sigh. Twice I asked what could possibly be taking so long for two hot dogs, and Waitress just shrugged. At minute 37, we finally stood up to walk out and, voila, she trots out our food. At that point we had had enough, left the untouched hot dogs on the table and just asked for the check. Got charged $36 for two cokes and a basket of chips. And....Waitress made a smart remark to us on the way out. Yikes.

True - this NOT a "fast food" place by any stretch of the imagination (which is why I eat here!)

I have had almost one of everything on the menu (including the kiddie menu on those days I want to save room for pie) and haven't ever been disappointed...

Since I think "slowEST" is a bit harsh, my question would be "Slowest compared to what?"

I feel like this restaurant should be on Food Network's "Restaurant Impossible". The only reason I say that is because the food has a lot of potential, but the inside really sucks. It's in a good location to attract business, but I've never seen it busy. The buns on the chicken and burgers are delicious. The prices are just a bit high though. I think if they invested a bit in the atmosphere and the ambiance, they would attract much more business. Overall, it's great for a burger or chicken sandwich if you don't feel like driving down to Stone Oak.

Great, no frills place. Best hamburgers EVER! Steaks, chicken fried chicken, and fries can't be beat, either! It's a mom & pop, and they do their best to accommodate you. Don't want just a 12 oz. ribeye, they'll cut you a 25 oz. if you want it. These kinds of places are a dying breed, and it's a shame. Go here for consistently good food.

We were In this restaurant today and had the worst service ever. We had been waiting a little more than an hour and asked our waitress to check status  of our food that's when the attitude started. We asked to speak to her boss (the owner)and were told he would not be interested in what we had to say this was very disappointing,no one would talk to us about our food status we will not be going back

First, I was a bit frustrated with Yelp and the fact that this place is listed twice on here.  It probably wouldn't have been so bad if the reviews weren't so vastly different.  One set of reviews has it at a 5 star while the other listed it as a 3 star.  Of course, I was further down the road by Hwy 46 when I saw the 5 star review.  I figured why not give 'em a try?  I searched, and searched (I had Google directions plus the Yelp map) had me going on 281 and turning around at least 3 times.  I finally called them up and the nice lady on the phone said they were further down by Hwy 1863.  UGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  So I went towards 1863 and finally saw the building.  When I turned around, I told myself that I would try to correct the address but then my partner in crime saw they had a completely different listing with the correct address as well.  Then I started to read some of the reviews.  At this point, I was a bit concerned but everyone raved about the food so I figured I'd still give them a try.

When we walked up, the door was already being opened by one of the servers.  He greeted us, seated us, and got our drink order right away.  It wasn't too busy at the time we walked in but our server had shown to be extremely attentive even when things did start to pick up.

The inside is a bit shabby and looks to need some work.  For a place that has quite a few windows, it felt like we were in a dungeon.  It was dark and dreary and outside was perfectly sunny.  I saw an old tv up in the rafters (I guess they used to play it) and noticed cobwebs and dust around it.

We tried the queso and chips.  According to the menu, the queso had green chili, and it did have a bit of heat to it.  I don't mind that but tbh, the cheese part of it tasted as though it was microwaved.  It was just warm.  I ordered a cheeseburger with mushrooms and was quite impressed with that however.  The burger was flame grilled and the mushrooms weren't canned.  Thank goodness!!!!  The fries were steak fries and as a lot of other people mentioned, were crisp and cooked just right.  I was really happy with my food order.  It did take quite awhile for it to come but our server kept following up with us and letting us know it would be ready soon.

With that, I'm not quite sure how to rate this place.  I'm completely stumped.  As I've been writing my review, I've clicked back and forth between a 2 and a 3 star.  The service was good and the food was great but I'm just not sure where to go with the rest of it.  I think for now I'll go with 2 1/2 stars.

Oh and other people mentioned the music.  It wasn't so bad.  The music was low enough for me and my partner to talk and no, they didn't play "Purple People Eater".  We did notice it was KONO playing (heard the ad for it of course).

I've been here many times since the opened.... many.  The food was always good and service prompt.  Love the chicken tenders, CFS and burgers.

Today, I was in the area and had the need for CFS for a late lunch.  There was still a decent crowd at 1:00 - 1:30pm.  Placed my order, received my iced tea.

I was reviewing email on my phone and noticed the table cloth was sticky, so I cleaned up a little with an ice cube and wipe with a napkin... clean.  Hum, the checker board table cloth is looking a bit faded and tattered.  No problem, CFS is on the way.... just means a lot of good business has come thru since they opened.

A few minutes later, food should be out soon, then a 1/2 to 3/4" cockroach runs across my table.  Ugg, the waitress nearby tries to catch it and offers me another table.  I lost my appetite and said I was leaving.  I left....

I took two of my Grandkids out on Saturday, July 21st.  We ate at My Place before going to see the Scorpions at Heros Stadium.

First the good:  We all had Brisket Sandwiches and they were GREAT!  I had a cup of their Chili and it was very good.

The bad:  When we came in the place had one or two customers and almost all the tables were open.  They were playing great C+W music.  LOUD.  You'd think we were in a dance hall or a Club.  The music was so loud that normal conversation was extremely difficult.

So, I asked if the music could be turned down.  I even told the wait server that I "liked" the music but it was too loud for us to enjoy our meal and conversation.

Well, the wait server told me that the owner would almost certainly NOT turn down the music as many had asked in the past and there was nothing he could do about it.

So, if you're eating alone and / or don't care about hearing the conversation of those at your table feel free to eat here as the food was good.

The obnoxious " damn the customer" attitude marks this place as a "stay away" for me.

Just order a burger as our waitress suggested (we didn't listen).

Went here because of the write up in the Sunday Express News.  Hubby ordered the chicken-fried steak because of the good review in the paper, and it was inedible.  It was so tough that he had trouble cutting it with his steak knife.  Chewing it was an experience in frustration.  The staff were nice and brought him a burger, but seemed to think the steak was just fine as it was.  Now, the BURGER was AMAZING.  Very nicely charred, wonderful bun, bacon cooked crisp but not too crisp.  Definitely worthwhile.

I had the catfish which also had a nice write up, but it was mediocre.  Now, the batter was crunchy and the fish was moist, but there was very little flavor.  The homemade tartar sauce lacked punch, and the one meager lemon chunk was not enough to add moisture or zest.  The hush puppies were tasty and I wish there had been more than two.  Fries also very nice!

Giving it three stars thanks to the amazing guacamole/bacon burger.  (Also, the piped-in music does stink here.  No "purple people eater" but their version of "ultra-light adult contemporary" was annoying.  Hey, this is Texas...even country music would have been better and I'm not even a fan.)

Great burgers, better then beefys down the road. Granted place was dead and atmosphere wasn't nothing special. The girls waiting tables were very nice and all burgers and sandwiches ordered were delicious. Fries were also very good. Will be back.

This is one of my favorite places to go get a burger. It's kind if out of the way from San Antonio but well worth the trip.

My favorite is a chicken burger. Half of this is easily a meal. I cut it in half and bring the other half home. At home I just toasted the bun and microwave the chicken and it holds up well for leftovers.

My husband said the beef burgers are great also. Our friend ordered the chicken fried steak and loved it. The steak is a real steak no cheep meat coated in breading.
I've never seen a crowd in this place but I have never had a bad meal either.

Let's get together and support this great small business that served a great meal with fresh ingredients for a reasonable price.

    They do it right!

Let's get down to business. My Place, despite it's somewhat annoying name, "Where are you going?" "My Place!" "Okay, but what restauraunt??" "My Place!!!" is an extremely good restauraunt.

My favorite is the DeClucksemburer. It really is a grilled chicken sandwich the size of a city in Germany, and definitely hits the spot. The fries that come with all of the sandwiches are big, thick steak fries and are nice and crispy. They really do a great job with the overall quality and presentation of their sandwiches.

As for the dinner entrees, they're also very good. Highlights are the sunday prime rib special, and the everyday steaks. Each time I've had a steak here, or the prime rib, it came out tasty, and was cooked just how I ordered it (medium rare). Good attention to detail and cooking temperatures.

If you're a fan of blue cheese dressing do yourself a favor and get it on a side salad. It's tangy to the point of almost being spicy here, and I was told they make it from scratch in the kitchen. I didn't watch them make it, but it sure as heck tastes like it's homemade.

The queso appetizer is quite good as well, and the chips are good, though nothing really special.

In my experience the high quality of the food is extremely consistent, and over the past few years I've been there at least 30+ times. The consistently high quality, as well as the honest, outstanding preparations of classics earn My Place an easy five stars.

I like the food; however the owner insists on blasting the worst 1950's music ever recorded.  I was a regular, however after being assaulted with such titles as "One Eyed Purple People Eater", "Tiny Winnie Yellow Pokka Dot Bikini" and other horrible songs. I simply just can't even walk into the place anymore. Take some earplugs!

Delicious burgers and more, tucked away in Bulverde. After being tired of many kinds of greasy, salty burgers and overcooked fare at the national chains, this is worth stopping for!

These burgers are the best! I asked someone who worked there about the bread on the burgers because they were very good. The sourdough bread is actually baked at a bakery in the area and so is their pies. The sweet taste of the bread topped off the bbq flavor of these delicious burgers. I think I got there about the time they were closing so we got our food pretty quick. Coming back from the lake and I've heard someone mention about these burgers off 281 so I had to try it. Worth going outside the loop to taste these burgers.
