Cute little restaurant!
My boyfriend said the oysters were really good and fresh!
I ordered a salad with arugula (so good) and smoked Gouda (what beats that?!?) and obviously a New England clam chowder!
Salad- fresh
Soup- lots of clams, not a lot of potatoes (which is always a problem in NY)
The only issue is that we were there at 4:37pm and they said they wouldn't take any dinner orders til 5... Which wasn't too far away and to sit we would have to order only from their raw bar, soup and salad menu for for. We opted to wait but then they said the tables would be all filled. It was confusing so we just sat, and ordered what we could to hold us off, but by the time we were done, we were full so no chance to try dinner!
Def a place to check out if anyone goes up to visit Cape Cod :)
Went here for a date night after hearing good reviews from friends and family. We were very underwhelmed for a number of reasons.
First the service was slow and our waiter made bad suggestions. Â He didn't keep our wine glasses filled and we had to wait 15 minutes before receiving bread after being seated.
We started with a stuffed quahaug and a crab cake. The cake was actually very good and the quahaug was tasty however it was full of sand and pretty over cooked (way to chewy!) I almost felt like i had chipped a tooth, luckily i didn't.
This is where things went bad... Â I'd like to think we simply ordered wrong. I went with the special which was a seared piece of tuna with a mushroom crab sauce on top. My girl friend was talked into order the lobster cognac by our waiter because it was apparently the top seller or something like that. Â She was incredibly disappointed... The lobster was over cooked and basically sitting in a swimming pool of heavy cream sauce. BE WARE - LOBSTER COGNAC is basically a heavy lobster bisque with a whole split lobster on top.
My tuna dish was good and bad. The tuna was nicely cooked and very fresh, but once again I felt like the sauce was way to heavy and creamy. Â Tuna has such a light flavor and all I could taste was cream.
The wine was good and the place was nicely decorated. I really feel like we just ordered poorly and I would be open to giving this place another chance if it wasn't so pricey. Â The two entrees totaled 72$ and I would have been much happier with the 16$ burger.
Slow, rude service and dirty water glasses only the table won't get you 5 stars no matter how good the food was and to be honest, it was a 3 at best. Â I got the shrimp po boy and the shrimp was overcooked and dry. Â Unfortunately we will not be back and I would think twice before visiting this establishment.
