Cute little restaurant!
My boyfriend said the oysters were really good and fresh!
I ordered a salad with arugula (so good) and smoked Gouda (what beats that?!?) and obviously a New England clam chowder!
Salad- fresh
Soup- lots of clams, not a lot of potatoes (which is always a problem in NY)
The only issue is that we were there at 4:37pm and they said they wouldn't take any dinner orders til 5... Which wasn't too far away and to sit we would have to order only from their raw bar, soup and salad menu for for. We opted to wait but then they said the tables would be all filled. It was confusing so we just sat, and ordered what we could to hold us off, but by the time we were done, we were full so no chance to try dinner!
Def a place to check out if anyone goes up to visit Cape Cod :)
Went here for a date night after hearing good reviews from friends and family. We were very underwhelmed for a number of reasons.
First the service was slow and our waiter made bad suggestions. Â He didn't keep our wine glasses filled and we had to wait 15 minutes before receiving bread after being seated.
We started with a stuffed quahaug and a crab cake. The cake was actually very good and the quahaug was tasty however it was full of sand and pretty over cooked (way to chewy!) I almost felt like i had chipped a tooth, luckily i didn't.
This is where things went bad... Â I'd like to think we simply ordered wrong. I went with the special which was a seared piece of tuna with a mushroom crab sauce on top. My girl friend was talked into order the lobster cognac by our waiter because it was apparently the top seller or something like that. Â She was incredibly disappointed... The lobster was over cooked and basically sitting in a swimming pool of heavy cream sauce. BE WARE - LOBSTER COGNAC is basically a heavy lobster bisque with a whole split lobster on top.
My tuna dish was good and bad. The tuna was nicely cooked and very fresh, but once again I felt like the sauce was way to heavy and creamy. Â Tuna has such a light flavor and all I could taste was cream.
The wine was good and the place was nicely decorated. I really feel like we just ordered poorly and I would be open to giving this place another chance if it wasn't so pricey. Â The two entrees totaled 72$ and I would have been much happier with the 16$ burger.
Slow, rude service and dirty water glasses only the table won't get you 5 stars no matter how good the food was and to be honest, it was a 3 at best. Â I got the shrimp po boy and the shrimp was overcooked and dry. Â Unfortunately we will not be back and I would think twice before visiting this establishment.
Review Source:WOW! WOW! WOW!
I own The Cape Cod Cookie Company & Coffee Shop on the other end of Main and my husband I never get a chance to get out. We've been dying to try it and I couldn't have been more pleased that we did. My husband had the lobster bisque which was rich with sherry. I had the French Onion Soup. Now, I have onion soup everywhere I go and this was likely the best I've had. For my entree I had the divers sea scollops on top of a celery root puree and all topped with a citrus vinaigrette and figs. The dressing was SO bright and flavorful. I was in ecstasy the entire meal. We finished off with a cup of coffee and the creme brule which was very good. Anyway, can't wait to go back, worth every penny! :)
OH! And the service? Sincere, helpful and full of smiles!
Being an out-of-towner with bad Cape Cod foodie experiences leading up to finding the Naked Oyster, my bf and I made a ridiculous decision to eat at the next restaurant we came across with either lobster or some sort of seafood in the restaurant name OR drawn on the restaurant sign.... viola - the Naked Oyster. Geez was I glad we stopped here! Don't let the small store front fool you, upon entering the restaurant you'll find a space that is very modern with a twist of swank. Local art pieces are beautifully displayed throughout the restaurant - currently, it's an artist with her studio just around the block. But enough about decor (which I loved!), the seafood was just what we were looking for! Seeking a "pure" seafood experience, we ordered simply: appetizer sampler with 3 oysters/3 little necks/3 tiger shrimp  (yummo and so fresh, the prawns were probably the BIGGEST we're ever seen!) and clam chowder (it took a while for the server to bring it out, but only because the chef was making a fresh batch!). In the end, we ate every last bit in front of us. If you're on Main Street and find yourself overwhelmed with all of the restaurant choices in front of you, don't be afraid to stop here!
Review Source:My husband and our 2 boys (ages 25) went there for dinner last night! It was very busy! Our waiter took our order and then disappeared. We were able to finally flag him down to order our wine and beer. We ordered 4 appt.s and he not only forgot to order my sons crab cakes but when they brought the appt.s out, it was one at a time. When the entrees finally came out you could tell they had been sitting under a warming light for a while. No doubt because of the last minute ordered crab cakes! So it was hard to judge the food. The chicken was dried out, my shrimp and my husbands scallops were overcooked and tough and though the sauce for the lobster was very good, the lobster was overcooked! Maybe this place is better when it isn't so busy!
Review Source:Not bad...family trip to the Cape with a 11mo and they accommodated us in the back corner, next the bussing table and kitchen. Â We didn't mind this undesirable location because the little one may be disruptive. Â Oysters were the SMALLEST I have ever seen in my life. Â Had the basic raw and the Moscow (sour cream with caviar). Â Both were fine, but were small enough to snort. Â Oh well, that's to be expected for oysters in the NE.
French onion soup was good, lobster bisque was a little too creamy for me. Â Overall, not bad for a little nite out on main.
We stumbled upon this place for dinner, and were not disappointed!  I ordered exclusively from the raw bar, and my wife ordered the sautéed Thai shrimp entree, and everything was fabulous.  The menu is pretty extreme, so when in doubt rely heavily on your server's knowledge and opinion--it worked for us!
Review Source:So the directions from yelp lead to a random house that also happened to be on "main st." After some circling around and looking on google, I found the real address. Was it worth finding? Â The lobster bisque was a bit salty, and the portion was quite small. I've been to some oyster places in Boston, and I can say that Naked oyster isn't as good. The lobster tower is pretty interesting, and tasted pretty good. The tuna was pretty fresh and the presentation was pretty good. I have never eaten a raw clam before until that dish. I can say it was alright. The baked/"dressed" oysters are pretty unique and the one with bacon on it was pretty good. Overall, I felt the restaurant could have been better-they even brought out an appetizer after the meal was basically done...
Review Source:I found this place on yelp and decided to try it out after we visited a beach at Barnstable.
The decor is cute, but the food was a bit disappointing. The best thing I had here was probably their bread. Maybe we just had some bad luck and ordered the wrong items.
Here are what we ordered.
Lobster Bisque- Super salty
Caesar Salad- The vege wasn't  fresh. My boy friend commented that this was worse than the salad at a school cafe.
Risotto Lobster- Lobster wasn't very fresh. The risotto tasted boring.
Naked Oysters- Some were fresh. But, some tasted a bit fishy.
Pesto Oysters- Too salty
AMAZING! My boyfriend and I had an excellent dining experience here when we were in town for the weekend. We wanted to have a nice seafood meal while we were in the Cape, and my boyfriend has to follow a strict gluten-free diet, so we decided on this spot when we saw what great reviews it got from gluten-free consumers. The reviewers were right! They were very sensitive to his dietary needs (lots of places are not) and the meal we had was delicious.
We started with the baked mussels, prepared with spinach, parmesean and a touch of bacon. Â It was different, but really tasty. Â For my entree I had the pistachio crusted salmon, and it was UNREAL. Â It was cooked perfectly and served with spinach risotto and green beans. My boyfriend had the diver scallops, and he couldn't stop talking about how amazing they were. We were so full, but we had to try the chocolate mouse for dessert. That was great too.
My fruity martini was yummy, and my bf enjoyed his glass of cab. Our server was great, attentive without being too in our faces. Â The decor was modern and cozy, and they had certain fine dining touches (water glass never empty, napkins folded into roses) but it wasn't stuffy. Â The meal was reasonably priced for seafood in a resort town. We will certainly come back next time were in town!
FANTASTIC.  The best meal we ate on vacation.  My husband and I had an oyster sampler. It was simple yet delicious.  We had a lobster bisque, which was nicely flavored.  My favorite, though, had to be the mussels in a wine broth.  I am in love with this dish.  It was so wonderful.  The place was reasonably priced for the location (be reasonable, it is the CAPE).  We went before "high" season, so the crowd was minimal.  It is a small restaurant with very tasteful décor.  It was a relaxing setting for dinner and cocktails.
Review Source:First time in Hyannis...decided to check this place out based on Yelp. Made reservations and they sat us in the back by the rear door. The table was awkward...they shouldn't have it located where it is. The wall pops out 8 inches by the table so the seats on either side are different lengths. Plus...with it being the first time it was disappointing sitting by the exit and the kitchen entrance.
Now for the food. I had Oysters...my wife had Clam Chowder...Mom had Chicken...nothing to write home about. Oysters are Oysters...especially raw...especially in Massachusetts. Hard to mess that up. Highlight of the night was the cheese platter believe it or not. Really good!
Would I come here again? Probably not. Not bad though for a first time experience.
When I eat oysters, I like to add some Rockefellers alongside the raw. To switch back and forth helps to refresh my taste so I can really appreciate the raw ones.. At Naked Oyster, the Rockefellers are very good with an honest amount of spinach (Mom says I gotta eat my spinach), but my favorite among the cooked oysters here are the Bienville with bacon and mushrooms. In any case, the cooked for me are just an in-betweener -- their raw oysters and excellent raw littlenecks are the point! (Oh, and their oyster stew.) Great staff -- really helpful, really interested in making sure you get exactly what you want.
Review Source:You cannot go wrong with fresh oysters. I happen to like mine very simple. Cocktail sauce, horseradish, lemon juice and tabasco. And that my friends is perfection! I also had their oyster stew and although it was good, there was too much sherry in it. If I go back to The Cape, I might go back. Worth a try if you are a local, but if you're visiting there's too many other restaurants to go to.
P.S. Don't forget to go to the JFK museum across the street. There are so many family pictures in there. Something fun to do when you are in Hyannis and don't have enough time to head to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket (AKA KENNEDY FAMILY COMPOUND). Just saying.
Im obsessed with oysters, I wish I could eat them everyday -- Â all day. Â Luckily for me, Naked Oyster farms their own delicious delicious oysters. Â Â I ordered half a dozen for myself and they were some of the best oysters I've ever had -- Â super fresh and juicy. Â We also tried the oyster Rockefeller, while it was good, I could only taste spinach and bacon, no oyster so it's not worth it.
The lobster cognac entree was delicious-- Â loved the cognac cream sauce. Â The cherry tomatoes and string peas subtly picked up the goodness of the cream sauce. Â My mom also thoroughly enjoyed her scallops. Â If youre not into seafood, the Kobe burger was huge and tasty.
You'll def have a quality meal here. Â Make reservations bc it's small & popular. Â Docked a star bc service was slow but otherwise stellar food.
I was initially put off by the lack of acknowledgment by the hostess and any of the other staff. Â I had to ask if we needed to seat ourselves before they even made eye contact. Â I'm a stickler about customer service. Â Rub me the wrong way and I am more than happy to spend my money elsewhere, but I decided to chill and stay.
They more than made up for that initial funkiness after that. Â The hostess ensured we were okay and was friendly after that. Â Our server, Brittany, was sweet and prompt. Â Bartender made us a strong cocktail (bonus!). Â And they started playing some reggae music! Â Not sure if it was a coincidence or if it was because of my locs, either way it was appreciated.
Overall: Â Great clam chowder! (That's all I tried.) Super cute place, nice bar area, good drinks, friendly service.
My wife and I took 5 days and 2 New England locations to celebrate both our birthdays and our anniversary, all of which occur in a 2 week span. We ate at places from dives (great if you find the right one, which we did) to what pass for 5 star eateries (horrible if you choose the wrong one, we did).
After some review searching, and a long walk on Main Street, we settled on Naked Oyster. When I explained to the hostess what we were looking for, we were seated in a room in the back of the restaurant, away from the buzz of the bar. A table for two with comfortable high back chairs, nice palce settings and a waitress that was prompt but unobtrusive. All bode well for a nice meal.
A well done, limited menu, heavy on seafood, shellfish in particular. My wife loves oysters and had a tough time deciding between the naked and dressed choices but ultimately enjoyed 6 naked with cocktail sauce ($12). I enjoy seafood but opted for the beef carpaccio ($12) and it was classically presented, with a very nice olive oil drizzle.
We had 8 regular menu items and 2 daily specials from which to choose. I chose the Kobe burger with fingerling fries ($16) which was served exactly as ordered, rare. My wife's choice was the Lobster cognac ($32). This was a 1 1/4# split lobster, served with fingerling potatoes, haricot vert and cherry tomatoes, all bathed in a cognac cream sauce. The lobster was served in a deep bowl which allowed for dipping the great, hot rolls provided. We didn;t have room for dessert but all looked decadent.
There's a well thought out, reasonably priced wine list and a great selection of whiskeys and after dinner options. A nice toych was Veuve Cliquot by the glass, my wife's favorite sparkling wine.
All in all, the highlight of our dining on this vacation. We felt like regulars, were thanked for our patronaged and welcomed back. Small gestures that so many servers and owners neglect. Check out their website. It has daily specials listed and you can make a reservation while you're there.
I went to the Naked Oyster twice in one weekend.
They have delicious oysters which they procure from their own farm (my cousin knows a bunch of people who cook there). Â It's not for people looking for a wide variety of oysters harvested from different locations.
We had a rather unpleasant experience with the bartender our first night. Â We walked in around 11 pm (and there were still other people dining). Â The bartender refused to serve oysters (not even giving an excuse that they had sold out for the night, or the person who shucks them had gone home).
It turned out that there were plenty of oysters (once we got the attention of another employee, who was given a generous tip). Â
The next night we stopped in for dinner around 9 pm. Â I was quite impressed by the onion soup! Â I could tell it was actually homemade (not the usual horribly salty broth).
We did have to wait about 15 minutes for a table to open up. Â It seems to be a popular spot.
The jerky waiter/bartender from the night before was more than surprised to see us show up again. Â The night before my cousin decided he didn't deserve a tip and left him a nasty note.
I definitely will hit up the Naked Oyster again the next time I'm down on the Cape.
We made reservations for 8:30 for the Saturday of Memorial wknd. Â Group of 10.
We were seated as soon as we arrived in the back. Â The decor and ambiance is great. Â Our waiter was attentive and did the best he could w/10 ppl.
We weren't too hungry so we just ordered a bunch of appetizers. Â tried all the (naked) raw oysters and (dressed) baked ones, chowder, and baked clams.
Faves: naked oyster, oishi oyster, oyster pomodori. Â (oysters were so fresh and no sand at all) and chowder. Â (this was our 4th chowder in cape cod so far and it was our fave. Â lots of clams and the potatoes were minced. Â if you like your chowder hearty than u might not like this)
least fave: oyster rockefeller (too much cheese. cant taste the oyster).
Sorry abt the customer who had 1 waitress for the whole place. Â On a weeknight in mid-Oct we had 5, plus 2 barkeeps. Â
Excellent, excellent meal. Â Drinks and oysters at the bar, then the $35 prix fixe for her (bouillabaisse) and chowder & whole iced lobster for me. Â Very fine meal!
My fiance went for the oysters. Boy were we sorry we did. He ended up with food poisoning, and I did not fare too much better.
We were seated early in the evening, only 2 other tables were filled. Our waitress took our order and brought things out in completely the wrong order: cooked before the raw oysters, salads at different times, just plain bad.
We had also ordered sparkling water, which was promptly ruined when the waitress poured regular tap water into my glass without asking if i wanted a refill. She walked away ignoring my complaints.
As for the food: the cooked oysters look different than many places, but they are so overpowered by all the "stuff" on top of them that it wouldn't have surprised me if there were no oysters in them at all.
Our salads were ok, but the real fails were our main dishes. I had the seafood putanesca, which was disgusting. It was cold, first off, and the sauce tasted canned. My fiance had the kobe beef sliders, also cold. His portion was teeny tiny, but it didn't matter. After two bites, he looked at me as if he were going to be sick, didn't eat another bite, and was deathly ill our entire drive back to Boston and throughout the entire evening.
To top it all off, our waitress kept coming over giving us excuses about why she couldn't take dishes or refill water glasses. "Oh, my hands are full", "Oh, I'll be back in a second."
Don't go here. You'll regret it.
Boston prices and dacor, Macdonald's service. Â Was it an off night? Â It sure felt that way. 7PM reservation for four, we were on time and had ordered by 7:20. Â Our waiter, Frank, had worked his day job at the clothing store next door. Frank offered two additions to the menu, yet we ordered from the menu. Â That was the last time we saw Frank till two of our dishes arrived, forty minutes later. It was another wait till the other dishes arrived and we could all share the meal. Â In all that, the salmon was under-cooked, and the risotto was like mush.
Poor table management, communication, the chef needs to work on their management of the kitchen. Â Not planning on a return vist.
I stopped in with my family on Sunday night. Â We started off with naked raw oysters and oysters rockefeller. Â Both were outstanding. Â I could have made a meal out of these alone. Â
The bread offering was very good, the rolls were unique tasting and fresh out of the oven. Â
Unfortunately, the entrees were not as good as the starters.  First we were told there were no specials because it was Sunday, so they had only prepared a couple plates and had already sold out by 7pm.  My father ordered the sautéed scallops.  The scallops were over-cooked and a bit dry.  My mother had the 5-spice cod.  The dish was overpowered by the rice and the bean sprouts to the point that she could barely taste the cod.  I ordered the seafood putanesca.  The seafood was very good and the sauce nice until it paired up with the pasta, and then it lost all flavor. Â
There was nothing unique for the deserts. Â The wait-staff was very attentive but the restaurant was loud and it was very difficult to hold any conversation without having to yell over the other diners.
I wasn't too worried about getting fresh seafood on the Cape, I was more interested to see the preparation of their dishes, and their atmosphere. My boyfriend and I split some oysters and a caesar salad to start. Besides the oysters being so yummy that the whole restaurant smelled faintly of fresh saltwater, the salad was also dressed perfectly.
For dinner, we had the haddock & lobster in beurre blanc sauce and the salmon with a balsamic red wine reduction. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and served with just the right portions of roasted finger potatoes and sauteed veggies.
Honestly, the ONLY down side to this place is the location. Going for a weekend get-away to the Cape, we would have enjoyed it even more if it was right off the beach or a quaint main street. Instead, it is situated in a strip mall. Still, the atmosphere inside the restaurant quickly puts the parking lot outside far from your mind.
Loved this place! Â The oysters were fantastic and super fresh - a must! Â Our dinners were delicious too. Â The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. Â They played good music and it was a great atmosphere with tasteful decor. Â We loved it here.
And the drinks are fantastic! Â Order a pink panther - it's the best martini I've ever had!!!
So we were down on the Cape for the weekend and went looking for somewhere kinda fancy to wash away a hard week at work and ended up at the Naked Oyster. In retrospect, we would've been better off at one of the local fryshacks. The oysters were absolutely fantastic, but everything else was off in some way - the scallops were huge but undercooked, the puttanesca uninspired and bland (it's really saying something if the best thing about a seafood and pasta dish is the pasta), the deserts oversized but underwhelming in flavor, the cappucino incorrectly prepared. The entire endeavour was "Meh" all around.
The menu itself, the physical menu, was badly laid out - I bemoaned the fact that there wasn't anything on it that really jumped out at me as I was working through my entree and my girlfriend pointed out that there were entrees listed down the margin of the page with the sides that I didn't even notice, which really is a shame - I might have walked away happier if I had noticed I had more options available to me.
And okay, our expectations were fairly high, and off-nights happen. But what really got me was the service. The hostess asked if we had a reservation (we didn't) and seemed...disappointed, somehow, moreso when she discovered she had an open table and could seat us immediately anyway. I might be projecting based on how the night went after that, but it was striking enough for my girlfriend and I to talk it over later.
And I don't know if our waitress was having a crisis or what, but she really didn't seem like she wanted to be there. She was brusk and impolite, not overly so, but more like we were wasting her time. We noticed another waitress laughing and joking with her table across the room so I guess luck wasn't with us in server roulette, but it was off-putting and really put a damper on the night for us.
And the place is expensive, which I was expecting, but the overall experience didn't justify the cost to me. We were entirely let down, and I'm fairly certain that we won't be returning.
Ah well.
I used to rave about the fish here.... unfortunately Friday nite I was really let down. The owners are great and always have the highest quality
oysters - which I did enjoy ( oh, me so horny - sorry). The issue is with the uninspired menu - i am sure they will self correct - it was meat heavy and any fish was smothered - fish is delicate and should not be smothered. they must bring back the ala carte ( blackened, grilled etc choice) I was so sad I had chicken on a salad BORING!!!
i assume this is an awkward season switch menu I ran into - fingers crossed?!!? Wine selection remains consistently strong.
I planned a Valentine's weekend away with my girlfriend in Cape Cod, of which I hoped the Naked Oyster would be the highlight. Â We had been to Neptune Oyster in Boston a month or two before and we still talk about our meal there. Â I was hoping Naked Oyster could meet or surpass the bar Neptune had set. Â
I'll go ahead and kill the suspense right now - Naked Oyster didn't beat out Neptune for the sheer deliciousness of the food. Â The dining experience, however, was something special.
The atmosphere was quite nice - small, cozy, refined, but definitely not stuffy. Â Despite having reservations at 9, there was a short wait and we failed to get any attention at the bar. Â While not the most auspicious of starts, things turned up with our first round of oysters. Â Naked showed some creativity with Moscow Oysters - sour cream and caviar. Â Not my favorite, but my girlfriend loved them. We also ordered oysters with wasabi and soy that sounded better than it was.
The true standout was the oysters with the special Valentine's Day strawberry mignonette. Â Absolutely incredible. Â And the best part was that we didn't even order the mignonette- the waitress had the chef add the mignonette to the plate!
Which brings me to the service - fantastic! Â We ordered a white wine that we didn't like and our waiter took it back without a peep. Â The next bottle (which we both liked quite a lot) was warm due to the high volume of alcohol they were selling that night. Â To make up for the inconvenience we were given two chilled glasses on the house to tide us over.
We also asked to split the Valentine's prix fixe. Â Instead of objecting, the waiter commented on how she was surprised that more people didn't do the same.
The dinner started with a creamy lobster bisque that we shared. Â Not being a huge lobster fan, I don't have much to compare to, but my girlfriend loved it and I may be a convert.
Next was the Kobe beef with grilled asparagus. Â There were also garlic potatoes or some other starch - judging by my forgetfulness, I'd say the beef and asparagus were the standouts. Â Both were cooked perfectly and full of flavor.
At some point we ordered another round of oysters for good measure. Â They were fresh and delicious. Â Of 18 oysters, only 1 or 2 had any grit. Â And oh that strawberry mignonette!
The dessert tray accompanied two flutes of pink champagne. Â Not sure what kind because by this point we were both a little tipsy, but this gesture really demonstrated the commitment of the restaurant to their guests - we split a(n already inexpensive) meal and nevertheless were given two glasses of champagne!
The desert tray itself was fantastic.  Strawberry dipped in chocolate, crème brulee, and chocolate mousse.  I do NOT have a sweet tooth, but these were the perfect cap to a delicious meal.
If I were my New York self, judging this restaurant by the warm wine or the couple pieces of grit or lack of variety in the oysters, I'd give it 3 or 4 stars. Â But I'm being my less judgmental self and rating the experience, one I'd gladly have again.
Fancy place, pretty swanky, food quality is good but expensive if you don't get the Prix Fixe which I agree with the other yelpers is the best deal.  $25 for for an app, entree & dessert...tax and tip not included - here's the link: <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nakedoyster.com%2FTNO_prixfixe.htm&s=348675b6113812fd45545fa10d70128b7f4e2f14f67a96319917ea90b4e1d2fd" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.nakedoyster.c…</a>
Note that the PRIX FIXE IS ONLY SERVED DAILY FROM 4 - 5:30 PM.
Decorations are dark brown and modern which gives it a warm feel. They have a big bar, a number of dinner tables, or there are also loungey type taller tables with nice decorations and candles in the middle of the restaurant. Â
The place has an "open" feel to it so the tables aren't too private but the place isn't too noisy. Â Although I went when it wasn't crowded...Most people that go here are pretty dressed up and looking spiffy but no jacket is required or anything.
As is a theme throughout my restaurant reviews, I must comment on the martinis and the red wine. Â Top notch in my book!
This would be a good place for a romantic dinner out, for a first date, or a place to grab a fancy drink at the bar with the girls/boys.
I should immediately confess that any restaurant that can feed me oysters and creme brulee has me by the short hairs anyway, but the Naked Oyster is truly a special restaurant worthy of special occasions.
Located in an inauspicious storefront just off Rte. 132, the restaurant has a lively bar area that features trendy cocktails, some high tables, and some regular seating. The decor is modern (the Cape tends toward lobster pots and fish nets), and the service has that nice balance between responsive and unobtrusive.
I usually have my shellfish on the half shell, but the six-way oyster appetizer is not to be missed. I've had swordfish and halibut as entrees, both outstanding.
The restaurant is more expensive than many on the Cape, but the prix fixe menu, while limited, is a bargain. Dress is also a little more formal, meaning I wear a collared shirt and big boy pants when I go there.
My visits have been in groups of two or three couples, but the Naked Oyster would be an excellent choice for a romantic dinner for two.
The road outside the restaurant is dark and quiet and we had a hard time finding the place, but when we did, boy were we glad!!!
Found this place on YELP and decided to try it since most ppl were giving it 5 stars and i must say it shouldnt be 5 stars... it should be 6!!!
Atmosphere and service was great. The server was above and beyond... They couldnt find our reservation but still managed to sit us within 10 minutes of wait. it was a birthday celebration and they sure made it special.
Drinks: There was a wide variety of martini-- I had the blueberry martini, and it was pretty good and not too sweet.
Apps: Oysters of course, but I also def recommend the Tune Tartare salad. Â They are super generous with the raw tuna and if you like tuna sashimi, it's really really worth it.
Main course: truthfully, we were so stuffed by the time main course came but they were wonderful anyhow. Servings were just now, but we had trouble finishing it since we had too much for apps. I had the scallons and they were amazing
Desert: we were pretty sure we didnt want desert UNTIL we saw the table next to ours that had the warm chocolate cake. It was super super good. we have been eating out all weekend, and my partner noted that this was the best thing we have had so far. so go figure
I think they change the menus from time to time according to whats fresh for tha season, but this is def a place to go while you are out in Hyannis and looking for a nice place to wine and dine.
As a kid who grew up on the Cape, I understand that there are ritzy Cape resturaunts and somewhat divey/average ones. The ritzy ones tend to either be right near the beach, or in areas like Chatham or Orleans. As far as Hyannis is concerned, what with the Mall being right there on route 132, a typical Cape-goer would expect most of those resturaunts to fall into the "aveage" category.
Imagine my surprise when the Naked Oyster turned out to be quite a nice little ritzy pearl in the middle of an average part of town.
My cousin and my girlfriend were on a quest for sushi. The cape loves seafood, yet couldn't provide us with an adequate sushi resturaunt. My cousin, who lives on the Cape year-round, was only privy to two sushi places. One was closed, and the other seemed a bit too far out of our way. We had heard rumors that the Naked Oyster was the sort of place we might find sushi. We were wrong.
But what we DID find was an amazing chef with a very adequate menu of delectable food, terrific cocktails, a modern decor and one of the nicest and most personable waitresses I've ever been served by.
I won't go into details with what I ordered or how it tasted, I will leave that quest up to you, dear Yelp reader. While not at all the sort of "Cape Cod" style resturaunt a first-time tourist might be looking for, the Naked Oyster delivers a satisfying dining experience.
And oh yeah, I guess one of the chefs there is shooting to be on Top Chef. How nuts.
I think this place has awesome Martinis and great apps. The crowd is slightly older. It's the type of place you might run into your father and his way too young girlfriend.
I have been here twice and have had a great time sitting at the bar. The apps have been excellent but the martini, the cantaloupe martini worth the trip. The Thai Shrimp are really good. The bartender recommended them and they he was spot on.
It's right across from the Cape Cod Mall but you you will have to search it out. Do it  especially if you are thirsty.
