    NOOOOOOOO!!
    They are closed. :(
This was a great pizza place with an authentic brick oven. I really hope a new owner comes by to pick this place up. They had the best and most delicious pizzas along with various kinds of salads, pastas, appetizers, and authentic Italian food. So sad and in disbelief that such a popular place is now closed. I didn't want to post any pictures since it's too depressing to see this establishment closed. R.I.P Napa pizza, you WILL be missed

Although this was one of the spots I wanted to YELP, I am sad to announce Napa Pizza is now closed.  It was confirmed in a discussion I had with a worker next door (Toby) @ Valerio Bakery.  He mentioned they went out for business on Friday, August 28, 2009.

I prefer giving them "NO STARS" but this is the only rating appropriate for business that is now CLOSED.

If you like eating Pizza or Pasta with sauce that taste like it came from a can, then your in the right place. I've never had pasta or pizza so blan with flavor, my tongue was asking me where's the flavor. Service is ok, not great. Don't do the delivery they always forget the bread and when you call to ask about it, "Oh that doesn't come with your pasta order". or "sorry that will be on the next order". So which is it, does it come with the meal? I only had to spend $25 bucks for flavorless food and it doesn't come with home made bread. They do have a nice weekly wine tasting, but the food flavor is lacking that Italian taste. I've had better tasting food at a health food store. Best food choice there is the home made bread.

Does anyone know if this is the same ownership as Florence Pizza that used to be there ? Did they just change names ?
Florence was great pizza, but not always the best service, we had some pricing issues with them a few times, and the deal breaker was one time we ordered delivery and we got the wrong pizza. We called immediately to let them know and they said they would bring out the correct pizza asap, well we had a houseful of starving kids, so they each grabbed a slice. When the driver came he demanded that we give back whatever was left of the first pizza. I was shocked by this as I have never had this happen before and what in the world would they do with the rest of a partially eaten pizza ?? I called the manager to inquire about this and he gave me a big attitude and said it was policy. I informed him that service wise it was very rude and health-wise I am no longer comfortable eating there not knowing if they re-sell customer returned items !!! This is unheard of in the pizza industry !!!
So I sure hope Napa is new ownership as we would like to try it :)

Now this spot is located right there next to Wingstop. I have always seen the place but never took the time to eat there. I didn't realize I was missing out on some good pizza!!

    GOOD:
-Family owned and operated (owner was very nice and came out to check on everyone)
-Pizza is awesome!! (made in one of those stone oven things, pizza comes out nice, hot and crisp)
-Fresh Ingredients (owner mentioned they go and shop everyday for the ingredients. You can actually taste the freshness)
-Nice small restaurant(seating also available outside)
-Zesty Picante Pizza ( pepperoni, green bell peppers, red onions, salami, and zesty red sauce, which I believe was Frank's Red Hot sauce) Gotta try this one!!
    - Antipasto Salad( they don't skimp on the pepperoni, salami, ham, cheese!!)

    BAD:
-Our server seemed like he was new on the job. Seemed hesitant to serve us. Came up to us all shy and nervous. ( Don't be afraid bro, I won't bite!!...unless you try to take away my pizza and I'm not done eating!!)

    UGLY:
-The fact that I never tried this place earlier!! With their assortment of wines and different variety of tasty pizzas, I would most def choose this place over a chain pizza joint.

Yummy pizza alert! I wasn't aware that good pizza existed in Chula Vista and in case you weren't either, get thee to Napa right away!

We ordered a TON of pizzas at my work. I couldn't believe all of the different toppings Napa offers. I usually shun all vegetables so Napa must do some pizza voodoo because they make them actually taste good on a pie. I recommend the Sonoma for the veggie lovers and the pepperoni (have never seen so much pepperoni on one slice ever!) for carnivores like me!

I love that Napa pizzas have a strange sweetness about them. In addition to vegetables, I also hate sauce (I swear I love pizza) but Napa's is the only sauce I've ever liked.

On top of delicious pizza, they have really nice employees. We made their employees WORK for our order but they were really quick and gracious. Support good pizza, people!

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! If you are out in Chula Vista, you must try this place!  It's a little mom and pop kinda pizza joint, in a non-de-script strip mall across from Southwestern College.  I never knew they were here.  Then yesterday, on a gosh awful rainy day it was the perfect fix!

Me and the BF shared a large salad and medium pizza, which was more than enough if you believe in moderation.

Plus we had a glass a wine each.  But what I really have to rave about is the bread... HOLY COW!  They bring you out a small sliced loaf of fresh hot bread.  It's like a herb, wheat or grain bread that rocks!

They have a pretty good menu of items so I will definitely be back to try some of the other items.

I met up with some friends and friends @ Napa pizza tonight. OMG, I ask myself, why did it take me so long to discover Napa Pizza??? I can't answer that. I have no answer. But I am truely saddened that I didnt discover this eatery a long time ago because their pizza is truely the best that I have had in a long long time.

in my opinion, by far the BEST pizza in Chula Vista. Yes, even better than the buzzed about Oggi's and Fillipi's pizza here in Chula Vista. Hands down, the best pizza I've had in years.

I had the Margherita pizza.... my baseline of what I try at any new pizza place I try. This way, I have a constant of who makes the best pizza and I can compare to other places.

Honestly, I almost ate the whole medium pizza, and yes, you can call me a fatass. I dont care. The pizza was worth calling me a fatass. I also had a glass of wine and a beer. Again, who cares about mixing drinks. ..... I'm a FATASS . . and a drunk.

Anyway, Their pizza is brick oven cooked to perfection, the crust is to die for, and the toppings are at the right proportion so that you are neither choking on cheese (filippis) or chewing on too much crust (oggis).

Loved it, loved it, LOVED it!!!

oh and Yvonne knows her sh*t about wines. She personally picked out the wines one the list and even airrated my red wine...... not even alot of the 5-star expensive restaurants in La Jolla airrate their wines! This is wine how it should be poured and appreciated, coming from another Bay Area Native.

I cannot say enough about Napa Pizza. I was thouroughly impressed and will be definitely be coming back for more!

    HK's Parting Shot --
what are you waiting for??? go to Napa Pizza!

Following my initial review I received a nice, thoughtful message from Eddie, one of the owners, apologizing for the bad experience. He explained that he had addressed the issue with his staff and management and clarified the premium topping charges on his online and in-store menus. He went out of his way to reach out to a dissatisfied customer and took the necessary steps to ensure the situation would not happen again.

Eddie clearly cares about his business and the customers who patronize it. For that reason, I will be giving Napa Pizza a second chance and will let you know how it goes in a future update.

Remember when I gave Buon Giorno 5 stars? Well, this place is like Buon Giorno's little brother.

It's small, it tries to be decorative, there's maybe 8 tables inside, 2 tables outside. Beyond the half restaurant-half take-out pizza atmosphere, this place serves some pretty elegant food. The pizzas are yum, the pasta is rustic and delicate and filling, and the salads are excellent.

Tiramisu? it was the best I've had. Light, creamy, with a coffee-flavored-punch-in-the-face. You share it with someone else, and all of a sudden, it's gone in a matter of seconds.

The service here is beyond gracious. They owner really sells it well. He cares about you, about the food, the presentation, the flavor, and then he'll chat with you about it. He wants your input. I was happy.

I can't always afford buon giorno, but this is the next best thing.
