Nelson's Tavern

Now called the Vermont Tavern, I go here for the music we were bar hopping looking for good music. For me its music and then good food and drink and the food. The stage is big and I've know this place by many different names back in my day it was shooters I believe. The food is really great for bar food. The truth is you don't expect a lot from bar food but when you get it good its the best. They have a big selection of beer and I get a draft that night. I'll be back again if there is a band that I want to see.

Nelson's is out of business. So sad :( Really one of the best places in Erie while it lasted. Same goes for Raphael's that used be at 8th and Chestnut, I believe. RIP.

No great drink specials on a Saturday night, but I think this is because they don't want the college crowd to get attracted. I've been to Vermont Tavern a few times. Always have enjoyed the atmosphere. Some really awesome bands play here and its a great spot to hang out with friends and catch up because hitting the club life. Relaxed place, when I went there when it was Nelson's it had some great specials. Will I go back to Vermont? Yes...if they charge cover....No
