I can only review the bar, but I will say that the food had me intrigued. The fact that a bar food menu had baked, boneless, and skinless tenders as a "healthier" wing option is awesome! I'll definitely be checking those out next time In Erie visiting.
The bar, itself, is a pretty typical dive bar. If you're expecting anything more, you may find yourself disappointed. All of the bartenders were really nice to our group, and I LOVE that there's no smoking! At one point, one guy lit up at the bar, and he was told to "take it outside."
Granted, it was Christmas break, but you could tell Jimmy Z's was a pure locals bar by all of the camaraderie that I saw around us. Looking forward to checking it out again!
AKA Jimmy Z's. Â I am amazed to be the first to review this gem. Â I no longer live in Erie, but this is one of the best local bars to get a lot of good bar food. Â The prices are great, the atmosphere is cool...it looks like a locker room, a dugout and a bar. Â They have great t-shirts for sale too and Jimmy, the owner is pretty cool too. Â They have a sandwich called a Hot-Chick and another called a Fat-Chick. Â Both are highly recommended by me. Â The Rolly-Polly's are great too...I suggest the Italian ones. Â They have drink specials every day of the week and it is a place in which many Penn State Behrend students hang out. Â I spent many of my nights there when I was going to PSU Behrend. Â Even with the college crowd it is a great place to hang out. Â Allotto Pizza is attached to the bar to which provides delivery too. Â You can also get a 6pack or a 40 to go from the 6pack shop which is attached to the bar.
