Nickies1971

Right there in the heart of Tybee Island at 1513 Butler, Nickies1971 (a revival of Nick's original place now re-opened within the last few years) is a great place to go when you're hungry.  It's got a great variety of food, ranging from pizza and stromboli to burgers. A real winner is the fresh-cut french fries.  They're cut right there with a fry cutter so you know they're fresh - and they are excellent.  The pizzas are very cheesy - we had the pepperoni pizza, a sausage, and a "supremo."  The dough is not that great - looks like a pre-baked refrigerated thing.  The stromboli was not well-stuffed, but it was tasty.  Burgers are great.  We also had (during our stay in Tybee) the jalapeno poppers and fried cheese with marinara.  Nothing special (similar to what you'd make at home) but not bad, either.

Sit at the counter or in a booth, or on the sidewalk.  Service is friendly and fast.  The bar in back is smokey, so be warned.
