Great service, beer list, and food! Â You can't ask for much more than that! Â The waitress was attentive and there was another waiter who would periodically check on us too. Â We were never with out a cold drink! Â I had a veggie sandwich for dinner and it was delicious, while the sweet potato chips were a bit soggy, it definitely didn't ruin the experience. Â Nona Tap Room's name also doesn't lie, they have an extensive beer list in both bottles and on draught. Â Such a great atmosphere, I would recommend this place to anyone!
Review Source:I love this place, I just wish it was either bigger or other people loved it less!! It is unfortunately tough to get a seat around dinnertime, and there is no hostess situation, so the most aggressive people are seated first. However, the owners are awesome and so are the servers, the food is all good, and the beers are pricey but they are fun and different.
Review Source:The best restaurant in Lake Nona and definitely one of the best bars in all of Orlando. The service is impecable and the food is always delicious. You MUST try the burger and the funnel cake fries when they have them. YUMMMMM!!!!
The only thing that makes Nona Tap Room better is the beer. Their selection on tap and in bottles is imaginative and delicious.
Will be back many times!
Food is good, service is good and it has a nice beer selection- this place is friendly and not as hipster-ish as other craft beer bars. More of an upscale Ale House (smaller, but similar types of food- i.e. sandwiches and wings).
Not too expensive, if Im in the area Im happy to go here, but I wouldn't drive out of my way for it.
Service from the lovely very-blonde young lady (I'm sorry I didn't catch her name) was probably the best I have experienced in a long, long time. Â We told her this visit was our first, and she explained the menu and mentioned the specials. Â We wanted to sample two of the beers, and in addition to bringing us samples of those beers, she brought two additional samples that she thought we may be interested in ordering because of the similarity. Â Throughout the meal she checked on us, but wasn't up our arses. Â She smiled without being over-the-top friendly. Â She appeared to genuinely enjoy her job, being respectful of all customers and the establishment. Â
The food is good. Â We ordered the crab cakes, two healthy-sized cakes for $10; two burgers char-grilled and cooked to your choice of doneness for $10-12 each (they come with a side of home-made regular or sweet potato chips), and four beers: Â for a total bill of $62. Â The burger with blue cheese was very good. Â The burger (a special not listed on the menu) with shredded pulled BBQ pork was not good. Â The pork tasted of low grade and that flavor overpowered the flavor of the burger. Â They have a nice offering of beers on tap and in bottle. Â They also offer wine.
The atmosphere is a sports bar pub. Â The folks patronizing the Tap Room were 30-40 year olds, and there were two families with kids. Â The Tap Room has indoor and outdoor seating. Â The dinning area was clean and all staff kept up on keeping it clean. Â
Now, when we want burgers and beer, Nona Tap Room is on our list.
Hands down one of the BEST restaurants/bar in the ENTIRE Orlando area. With an ever-changing rotation of craft beers, this "homely" place gives you a feeling of comfortability. They have around 50+ beers on tap AS WELL AS over 70+ different bottles. Not only do they serve an amazing array of drinks, but the food is incredible! It's no wonder this place won the "Orlando Sentinel Foodie Award for 'Best Bar Menu'". The wait staff and servers are always friendly and knowledgeable about the beers that carry on tap/bottle. (It's no wonder that I find myself eating/drinking almost once a week!)
I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone with a love of beer and great food!
This place has the best traditional bone-in wings that I have ever eaten. I think the flavor I get is the Chipotle BBQ. After I eat one order of them, it takes every bit of will power not to order a 2nd plate of them. I seriously can not try anything else on the menu, because I am addicted to those wings.
They have several new beers each month. I'm not an IPA guy, but if IPA's are your beer of choice, Nona Tap has a large selection to choose from. You can sign up for a beer club, which helps track the beers you have tried and the ones you have not tried.
The service is pretty good. Yo do have to be proactive and grab someone's attention when the place is busy. But they will get you a beer very fast once you got their attention. Speaking of being busy, I think my success rate for finding a table or seat at a bar is about 50%. They really should expand. The potential business they are missing out on is huge!
Great place! Always a wide selection of beers and something new on tap or in the bottle. Food is great, fresh, fast and delicious. They have something going on almost every day of the week whether  it be poker, trivia, live DJ or something else. If you haven't been you should check it out.
Review Source:I don't make it out to the Lake Nona area often, but I heard good things about Nona Tap Room so figured I would check it out on a Saturday night.
The place was pretty busy (always a good sign), and we were able to find a table pretty quickly. There are TVs all around, giving off a bit of a sports bar vibe (could proabably lose a few of them). Â I was quickly impressed by their beer menu...they certainly live up to their Tap Room moniker. The server was friendly and knowledgeable about all the beers, and even made a few recommendations when we wanted to try something a little different.
I ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna appetizer and the Bacon & Bleu Burger. Both items were cooked rare like I asked, and were delicious.
If I'm ever back in the area, I will certainly make an effort to return.
It is such a great neighborhood place! somehwhat like Cheers! Everything on the menu is excellent, even if u have to take out food for those of u who have families with small children, u can still enjoy a delicious meal! The service is so great & accommadating, even the friendly patrons who r there gave up their table so my husband & I can eat dinner while they moved over to the bar. Wow im definitely going to pay it forward next time im there! While Lake Nona is growing with more & more with chain type restaurants, im so glad Nona Tap Room is here to stay!
Review Source:I usually have a good time at Nona Tap Room, however this last visit, when the live performer went on break, they turned up the TV, and really to loud for comfort. Â When the performer was back on, the TV's were not turned back down. Â Did not like hearing the TV and commercials over someone singing.
Review Source:Small place in a strip mall not far from the airport. Lots of TVs to watch playing sports and stuff. My friend ordered our drinks and the hummus prior to my arrival but the server forgot to bring our appetizer. We then ordered the seared ahi tuna, hummus and pretzel bread. The tuna was good but not the best, the hummus was served with fresh veggies and nice chips and the pretzel bread was just a pretzel roll cut up - not really good or anything I would want more than one bite. We had sandwiches which were served with sweet potato fries that were soggy and dripping with grease. I was hoping for something better from the other reviews. Would stop by again if I wanted to watch the game but not for the food.
Review Source:Stopped in for lunch today, and I was pleasantly surprised. Loved the large selection of beers on tap. The bartenders could make great recommendations if need be. The beers were all reasonably priced.
I ordered a pesto chicken sandwich and homemade chips. The sandwich was great, but the chips were soggy. My husband ordered pretzel bread with cheese and the poppers. The bread was yummy, but we weren't a fan of the poppers. My only complaint was it is very small and crammed. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. I couldn't imagine it on a Saturday night.
What the hell happened to this place?! Â I used to love it. Lately the beer selection seems stale. I'm an IPA fan and on my last visit there they had only three on tap. Normally that would be a sufficient if not respectable selection. However, in this case that would be incorrect. They had Mojo, Lagunitas, and Swamp Ape. Swamp Ape should be called Skunk Ape because it stinks. The Mojo keg was out. That means that in a place with 40 taps there was only one IPA. The food is still very good but since the new apartment complex has opened behind it overcrowding is the norm. Â I also have noticed a slow steady creep of mainstream crap beers such as Miller Lite. Â Not a good sign. Â I hope they turn it around as I really used to like this place.
Review Source:I love going to Orlando with le BF to visit his uncle. This place is super close to his apartment complex too. It is a developing area and they are doing well here at Nona!
I didn't order anything here but I ate off what everyone ordered. They have handmade potatoe chips here!! And I love it so much we ordered an extra side of it :) The wings here are also good to eat nothing spectacular but it is a good eat. Le BF's cousin had ordered monkey bread, which is a type of dessert, I didn't get to have a bit because he ate it so fast! So I am guessing it is good.
All in all I would come here again to hangout. The staff here are very nice and very attentive. They also have a type of reward card here. I'm not sure how it works but you should ask them about it!!
EDIT:: Went there the past weekend 9/1/12 they didn't have anymore monkey bread!!!!! booo they had red velvet and a tuxedo dessert though. I would suggest ordering the tuxedo! It is very light and delicious!
I loved the tap room. The atmosphere is classy but playful and that's thanks to the great bar staff. They have lots of beers on tap and the staff is happy to help you select one. The locals that go to this bar will be playing some nice tunes on the touch tunes. Something to note: they don't have a liquor license so your drinks are only beer and wine. That served me well though. I'd be a regular if I lived closer.
Say hi to the twins when your there.
New Favorite Place! Best Restaurant/Bar I have been too in a VERY long time! Â Very good food, have had all of their burgers, can't go wrong with any of them. Everything on the menu is actually good. Staff is very thorough and provide excellent customer service. I have had nothing but great experiences here and I'm positive that it will remain that way. I HIGHLY recommend the Nona Tap Room.
Review Source:Best and most affordable selection of unique beers- accompanied with the best staff of any bar, two friendly twin brothers and two awesome girls that all contribute to serve you give the best and nicest experience at a bar that you could ever have. I wouldn't even call it a bar, I'd call it the best restaurant ever. The food is phenomenal, the cooks are consistent and skilled at what they do. :)
Review Source:Lake Nona has grown over the years and so it's quite natural that a tap room pop up for the residents.
Friends have long rec commend this place for me as a closer taproom alternative and it surely makes the grade.
They feature a nice list of beers. Terrapin, Lagunitas, ciders and more. Great for beer and cider lovers alike.
Walking in was a bit daunting as the place is packed and small. Service was friendly and helpful in finding us a seat, recommending, food and beers.
For an App we had the Jalapeno poppers. These were excellent, you can't go wrong with cream cheese stuffed bacon wrapped poppers. Â
We both had the Loaded Burger as are main, While I like mine Medium Rare, my dining partner chose Medium. The burgers come with a side of house made chips which is a nice accompaniment.
I'd be scratching my head right now if after all the great stuff I just said why I'm only giving this place 3.5 stars.
The problem was not the whole burger itself. It was quite delicious it's just that mine was we more medium to medium well than medium rare.
This is problem that is easily solved and understandable in a crowded restaurant but it is one of my no nos. So I had To take the score down a little bit.
I'd totally come back and try again to see if it was just a mistake on a crowded night. For now a very respectable 3.5
This place just rocks. Beside the fact that it's only one mile from the house. We love the atmosphere, staff, food and lets not forget the beer! Hands down some of the best selection you will find with a constantly changing selection.
Appetizers- beer battered chicken finger are amazing.
Sandwich - love the chicken Philly buffalo style.
Burgers- they are all really good but got to go with the black and blue version
Desert- save room for some monkey bread
I absolutely love this place--it's an awesome place to relax, hang out with friends, and enjoy a good beer, a new beer, delicious food, and excellent service. I'm SUPER indecisive, so having 50 beers on tap to choose from can present quite a dilemma, but bartenders are always extremely patient with me, offering suggestions and samples and lots of smiles. The twins that work there are awesome! They are soooo friendly and easy to talk to, they really take care of you, and they have some crazy stories!
The beer is great, but so is the food! The burgers are to die for. All of them. And I've tried them all. Their sweet potato chips are delectable.
During the day, the atmosphere very laid back and not so loud that you can't enjoy a good conversation. In the evenings they often have live music--which is fantastic--as well as trivia nights on Tuesdays. Trivia night is a ton of fun but I'm just not that good at it. :)
Went here for the first time recently and had the Fried Egg Tap Room Burger with sweet potato chips. Delicious! Highly recommended. The others in my group really enjoyed what they got too-- the veggie sandwich (big thumbs up) and the chicken pesto sandwich. For dessert, we had the chocolate tuxedo cake-- breathtaking... The beer selection is huge! We will definitely be back.
FYI, happy hour is 2-7pm, M-F.
Nice!!! Love to find new tap rooms around!! They had a decent beer selection and the ambiance was appropriate for a neighborhood hangout. Clean on the classy side! Even though we aren't regulars, this was our first visit, we were treated like we were. Warm and inviting.
Would have earned 5 stars if they had a selection of brews that were on par with the other Orlando area Tap Rooms, because then I could have truly said "Woohoo As good as it gets". Having over a 100 selections definitely makes me a FAN!
This review is only for the service, selection of beers, and ambiance. Â We did not have any food.
I am a fan of this place. It's a wonderful addition to the Lake Nona area.
My husband, our friends, and I come here all the time. They have a great selection of beers, ciders, and 'beer' cocktails. I'm not a beer drinker, but they always have a cider for me.
The twins are fantastic. They are always make us feel right at home, they know the regulars, and treat us like friends.
As far as the food goes, it's great. I pretty much always order the crab cake sandwich, which I LOVE. But I have also had the veggie sandwich which is also very good. They offer regular fries and sweet potato fries. Just note, that the fries are not your typical fries. They are cut like thick potato chips, so they look like chips with a french fry texture. They are very yummy.
It gets crowded on game nights, but the staff always do their best to find you a seat as quick as possible.
Enjoy this place. We do.
