Dexter's

I've been eating at the original Dexter's location as long as I can remember but now that I live downtown I frequent the Thornton Park location and it's just as great. As lots of people have pointed out, they have one of the best brunch menus around. My favorite is definitely the pan roasted Mahi-Mahi & pepper jack grits. The tobasco fried egg is brilliant, I make my eggs that way all the time now ever since I first ordered it here. The grapefruit mimosa is my favorite.

The roasted chicken & goat cheese empanadas are a perfect snack while you have a couple drinks after work. The tomato sauce they're served with is really really good. They apparently have some kind of happy hour and $1 burger night that I need to try!

Great for local fare...  Food was okay and the service could have been better.  I'll be back!

I've only been to the Thornton Park location.  Friendly staff, delicious food, decent beers and full bar.  When I'm in the mood for a juicy cheeseburger I find myself at the Dexters bar.  I've had some fantastic salads here, as well as a salmon BLT that was amazing, I just keep waiting to see it on the specials list again.
