Perhaps I don't have a taste for Asian fare but I was not impressed with this joint. Based on reviews and mentions of the Pad Thai dish, I gave that a try. It was bland in color and taste. The noodles were kind of gummy If I had to put it into words and the whole dish was just underwhelming. I'm puzzled as to why anyone would suggest this dish. There are too many good places to go in Fort Wayne to even give this place another try. The only thing that separated this place from any other Asian restaurant was the building itself. It was newer, cleaner, and slightly more modern although kind of an odd diner vibe.
Review Source:Staff is really diligent but ultimately, food was average to me especially for the price. The pricing is higher than typical Asian restaurants although, Noodle Bowl has more of a modern twist/fusion on their dishes in lieu of the traditional Asian dish approach.
I got one of their dish specials for the day and expected it to cost me about $11. Came out to about $15-16. Food was mediocre.
I had one really great meal here (Beef Pad Thai) and it kept me going back 3 more times hoping it would be as good. Nope, everytime a total letdown, I feel like a Crack addict, chasing that first high but seriously I ordered the same thing multiple times and it was never even close to being as good. So I have to wonder what happened to that one magical cook.
You can tell they use pretty cheap ingredients especially meat, I wont be going back anymore, I have already given them one too many chances. I wont be going back.
Going into this restaurant I thought, Oh great another Asian Restaurant, just like the million others. Â But, I was wrong. Â As we walked in we were greeted by the friendly staff and before being seated I asked if they had a gluten free food. Â They told me that they did. Â When seated the most recommended dish was the pad thai and assured me that it was gluten free. Â When he left the waitress came over and told us she would find out what was gluten free. Â After she told the chef he came out and talked to us about how we had to order our food to assure it was gluten free.
All along the whole staff was iitentative about making sure out food was gluten free!! I felt very confident that I could order off the menu without the worry of being contaminated with gluten. Â Many restaurants act like they don't even care.
Now the food, Â the hot and sweet cabbage was amazing!! Â Would go back just for that!! Â Then we had the house made spring rolls with dipping sauce that was excellent.
I got the pad thai and was very happy with my choice, and my guest had the vegetable noodle bowl and it was definitely house made not from a box, with fresh vegetables.
Excellent food and accommodating staff! Â We will be back. Â The spring rills are a must!
THANKS
Today was my first visit to Noodle Bowl. I have driven past it many times and was not sure what it offered. I looked at their menu online, still unsure what to get I gave them a call. The guy on the phone with very nice and helped me decide on the daily lunch special. When I went to pick it up, I was pleasantly surprised by the décor and the service was fast and friendly. When I got home I was surprised how much food I had gotten for $8.12. My lunch included hibachi chicken with grilled vegetables, a side of extra sauce, crab Rangoon, an egg roll, a skewer of chicken satay, a bowl of house soup, and a side of hot and sour cabbage. All of the food was good, but the hot and sour cabbage was the best. I will definitely go back.
Review Source:Went here last night with my son. Â We got the beef satay appetizer. Â It was 4 skewers of beef. Â Very flavorful, but the beef might have been a touch on the tough side. Â I got the hot and sour soup, which was very good, my son got the house soup and said it tasted like Takaoka's - I tried it and didnt' think so, but it was ok. Â We both got the Hibachi beef. Â The beef was tender and very flavorful. Â It came with a side of au jus - very, very good stuff. Â It had tons of mushrooms, but I hate mushrooms, so I pushed them off to the side. Â It had a few onions and some zucchini. Â I should have asked for extra vegetables because they were very good and it dind't seem like you get many vegetables with this dish. Â I did not care for the "white" rice that was served with it. Â The menu says white rice, but it is really a wild rice that is on the purple side. Â My son liked it, though. Â Service was wonderful, with a few people stopping by to make sure everything was ok.
Review Source:Took my kids here while we were visiting Fort Wayne. Â They declared "I guess this IS better than McDonalds". Â There is definitely something here for everyone. Â My kids loved their meal, and I loved mine. Â I ordered the Pad Thai, and a few appetizers. Â The wait staff is extremely attentive, the food is fresh and delicious. Â Our meals averaged about $10 per person. Â We enjoyed our time there. Â Although, it was busy, the service didn't diminish. Â We will definitely visit again.
Review Source:Noodle Bowl features a good variety of Asian dishes - their Pad Thai is the best I've had since coming back from Thailand. The owners and the wait staff are extremely courteous and accommodating. Although it is not listed on the menu, the vegetarian option of tofu is available for all of the dishes. The chicken&roasted rice soup and the slightly spicy cabbage salad that come with the entree are delicious. Since discovering this restaurant, I've been here three times in the matter of two weeks.
