Me and the wife have ate at the O'Blarneys in Lacey many times and have always enjoyed the food and service. Â Great Rueben and they always give you more than enough food.
So we were very happy to hear they opened O'Blarney's in Centralia. Â The 1st time we ate there service was okay. Â Tried the Bartender Philly and was very happy with it. Â 2nd time we went at about 10pm and they just had late night menu...no problem got the nachos...worst nachos ever...Maude Flanders makes better nachos and the service was slow and almost non existent. Â 3rd time we went was for steak night...worst steak ever (I learned long ago not to eat a steak someone else cooks but it was only $8). And once again service sucked but it was extremely busy. Â 4th time we went there was plenty of tables open and we didn't plan on having any beer so we sat on the family side by the window...25 minutes later with no service or acknowledgement we left. Centralia O'Blarneys has been banned by me and the wifey.
I really wanted to like O'Blarney's. Â I haven't seen a pub since I left Reno and the aesthetic is classic; Â woody and mellow and dark, with a central bar and table seating around the perimeter. Â It's comfy for sure, with a number of TVs and games for entertainment. Â I've patronized this place twice, the first time in the later evening, when the only food offerings were off the late night menu. Â No problem, clam strips and fries were exactly what I was thinking and those were indeed available, now for service...and that's where O'blarneys really struggles.
My attempts to flag down the bartender or someone to get a drink or food went unnoticed for about 15 minutes, although I know I made eye contact with the tender, even if she did not acknowledge me.  She was wrapped up in various conversations with regulars, but finally she did wander over and take my order.  When I got my clam strips and fries, they were perfectly cooked and went down good with my beer.  The portion size was plenty, and I probably could have shared, had I brought company.  I tried to place another drink order but got tired of that after waiting another while, paid my bill and left.
Coming back the next time, this being during the day, to see if their regular menu was as good, as I love love Irish food.  Well I never really found out as the same slowwww service plagues the day shift, only this time I waited 20 min for a menu and a drink order, which I never received and I left after waiting about another 15 min.  It's not like it was busy either, only a few people at the bar and one other table that I could see.  Too bad.  Fix the service part and this would probably be a nice haunt.
We only started going here because the McMenamin's down the street is slipping so badly. But we really like this place. Pub food, but all done well. My son says the pulled pork is the best he's ever had, and the wings are outstanding.
Good beer selection, and the service always seems great.
We had a terrible experience at the one in Lacey; they are like different restaurants.
More like a 3 1/2 stars
The place was pretty quiet when the hubs and I stopped here on our way up to Seattle but we were itching to try something that was NOT right off the freeway and, based on yelp reviews, we decided to give O'Blarney's a shot.
The bartender was lovely and made sure our spot at the bar was nice and clean before she took our drink order. I ordered soup and salad (tasty and a good portion for the money) and the hubs had a burger. The food took a bit longer than I anticipated, considering how quiet it was but no complaints on flavor for either of us. I would have liked to see more Irish and English pub faire but perhaps that is not so popular with the locals? Don't know...
We would definitely come back the next time we are passing through - it looks like it could be quite a good time with the party room, pool tables and music.
I enjoy the food at O'Blarneys on a regular basis.
I use to go to the on in Oly years ago but moved away and now live in Tacoma. Since I am in Centralia frequently though I always try to get there for some food.
Stephanie and Trevor are my two favorite people for waitstaff and always take good care of us. Stephanie has been one of my favorite waitresses for years and recently I had Trevor and he was great.
My favorite things to get are the Bartenders Philly or the Reuben but I do get other items as well. My mom goes with me frequently there and she really likes the fish sliders. The French Dip is really good and I prefer mine with Swiss and that is on the menu already so it is great. The soups tend to be good as well. They also serve Irish Death on tap.
A very good pub in the center of town and service was very prompt. Lunch was good and our waitress was very friendly. Our waitress was charming according to my grandma. Decor did not all match should have more wooden tables I highly recommend the burgers, cheese steaks and fries .Washington should allow 18-19 year olds to enter thru the bar entrance I did not like walking around to the family entrance . California lets families sit and dine in bars and it's time for change .
Review Source:I have been going to the O'Blarneys in Lacey since my 21st birthday, so I was excited to hear they were coming to centralia.
The inside is very reminiscent of it's counterpart in Lacey. A beautiful centrally located bar is surrounded by lots of tables, Tvs, and a couple pool tables. The entire placed is trimmed out with dark stained real wood trim. In the back side of the building is the family seating section. This is where they can improve a bit. The class of everything else in the place is totally thrown off by several fold up tables and chairs covered in dollar store tablecloths that are bright green.
Food is normal pub food, but we were lucky enough to take advantage of their taco Tuesday which consisted of .50 tacos, $3 taco salads, and $3 margaritas. You bet it was good for the price.
Service was just ok, wasn't bad but didn't blow me away either.
Excellent Irish pub / sports bar on the way between Portland and Seattle! Â The inside is very modern. Â Large beer selection. Â Food was great. Â Service was excellent. Â There are several HDTVs showing various sporting events at all hours. Â Great stopping point for a Portland-Seattle trip. Â Will definitely be back.
Review Source:I was itching for an Irish pub while away on business. I decided to give this place a whirl. I was not disappointed! The bartender, Sean, said the nightly special was really good. It was a 8oz sirloin and baked potato for $8. That's right... $8!! I'm a stickler for a perfectly cooked steak. I like mine medium rare, if it's gray and dry... I'm not a happy camper. This steak was perfect! The baked potato was loaded with bacon and sour cream. Did I mention $8?? So a steak and a pint of Guinness later, I walked away with a $14 bill. Â I'd definitely return to O'Blarney's. The staff was cool, the atmosphere was great and the food was fantastic. The only con... No Smithwicks on tap :(
Review Source:This was my first experience at this new pub. I have heard of it, but never been. My boyfriend and I wanted to try a new place in town so we looked on Yelp. I noticed other people had experienced slow service, but within arrival, we had our drinks, food ordered and delivered in less than a half hour, which is better timing than most places around here.
I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted. Everything on the menu looks so good. It's not anything fancy, but a great place for a good burger or fish and chips. I ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich and Fries. It was awesome! Normally, I get really fatty meat anywhere else, but this sandwich was fatty free and very tasty. The fries were full of flavor. I recommend this place to anyone! I will most definitely return. I saw some desserts that looked amazing, and I want to try them!
I've had so many bad experiences at the Olympic Club, and they used to be my favorite. So, next time, if your trying to decide between the two, O'Blarney's all the way!!!
A much needed addition to Downtown Centralia! Â
As for the food, you aren't going to find anything fancy. It is pub food like chicken wings, nachos, fish and chips, burgers, deli sandwiches, banger and mash, and a few Irish plates added for effect.
The environment is great. I love that they have a jukebox, pool tables, and a ton of televisions for sports. There is plenty of room around the bar section and a number of tables in the non-bar section for family seating.
The service is a bit slow. I am hoping they are still in the "ironing out wrinkles" stage. I have been to O'Blarney's about a half-dozen times since my office is next door. Each time it seems that the service, unless you sit at the bar, is rather slow. Dinner last Friday was ridiculously slow.
The Guinness is not poured correctly and that is a party foul in my book. It is way too cold and they don't let it sit before serving.
I love supporting the businesses in Downtown Centralia. But, they also have to give me reasons to come back. I just hope O'Blarney's improves the service.
This place is fantastic. Got a great blue cheese burger, watched the Seahawks game, played pool and drank their private label beer, brewed right here in Centralia by Dicks Brewing. A great addition to downtown. Service was excellent, prices are fair atmosphere was great; so nice, warm & clean.
