Me and the wife have ate at the O'Blarneys in Lacey many times and have always enjoyed the food and service. Â Great Rueben and they always give you more than enough food.
So we were very happy to hear they opened O'Blarney's in Centralia. Â The 1st time we ate there service was okay. Â Tried the Bartender Philly and was very happy with it. Â 2nd time we went at about 10pm and they just had late night menu...no problem got the nachos...worst nachos ever...Maude Flanders makes better nachos and the service was slow and almost non existent. Â 3rd time we went was for steak night...worst steak ever (I learned long ago not to eat a steak someone else cooks but it was only $8). And once again service sucked but it was extremely busy. Â 4th time we went there was plenty of tables open and we didn't plan on having any beer so we sat on the family side by the window...25 minutes later with no service or acknowledgement we left. Centralia O'Blarneys has been banned by me and the wifey.
I really wanted to like O'Blarney's. Â I haven't seen a pub since I left Reno and the aesthetic is classic; Â woody and mellow and dark, with a central bar and table seating around the perimeter. Â It's comfy for sure, with a number of TVs and games for entertainment. Â I've patronized this place twice, the first time in the later evening, when the only food offerings were off the late night menu. Â No problem, clam strips and fries were exactly what I was thinking and those were indeed available, now for service...and that's where O'blarneys really struggles.
My attempts to flag down the bartender or someone to get a drink or food went unnoticed for about 15 minutes, although I know I made eye contact with the tender, even if she did not acknowledge me.  She was wrapped up in various conversations with regulars, but finally she did wander over and take my order.  When I got my clam strips and fries, they were perfectly cooked and went down good with my beer.  The portion size was plenty, and I probably could have shared, had I brought company.  I tried to place another drink order but got tired of that after waiting another while, paid my bill and left.
Coming back the next time, this being during the day, to see if their regular menu was as good, as I love love Irish food.  Well I never really found out as the same slowwww service plagues the day shift, only this time I waited 20 min for a menu and a drink order, which I never received and I left after waiting about another 15 min.  It's not like it was busy either, only a few people at the bar and one other table that I could see.  Too bad.  Fix the service part and this would probably be a nice haunt.
We only started going here because the McMenamin's down the street is slipping so badly. But we really like this place. Pub food, but all done well. My son says the pulled pork is the best he's ever had, and the wings are outstanding.
Good beer selection, and the service always seems great.
We had a terrible experience at the one in Lacey; they are like different restaurants.
