First of all, unlike another reviewer said, it is not 10 minutes north of Jenner. Â It is much further than that and past Fort Ross. Â Just keep going north until you start to see all the Ocean Cove stuff, and it will be on your right. Â We thought we were lost, very little cell service for Verizon and non existent on AT&T.
Very basic menu. Â I got the cod tacos which were good, my girlfriend got the mussel special that was on the board and was disappointed. Â The board said it came with shallots and tomatoes but it didn't..When asked they said it was in the broth...which I'm pretty sure they were making up to save face....She also felt very sick after we left so I'm a bit suspicious. Â It was a bit slow on a Sunday night but still was disappointed here.
Don't get me wrong, the view is spectacular, although the sun sets too far north to see the sunset. Â Had a few $3 Budweisers ($5 for nicer bottles and $6 for their beer on tap which was I think Lagunitas IPA?)
what a wonderful local bar and restaurant! Â we just had dinner there tonight and found the service and food to be excellent. Â the staff was very friendly and accommodating and the food very comforting. Â we went with the selections that were mentioned on other yelpers reviews. Â the clam chowder was rich and creamy and the calamari strips were thick and succulent. Â my wife had the salmon penne piccata and i had the salmon fish and chips. Â the fish was juicy and not over battered and the pasta was al dente with a creamy sauce. Â
if you are in the area and looking for a comfortable, homey restaurant, i highly recommend this place.
We were driving up north looking for a place to stay the night, it was getting late(about 9pm or so) we pulled into Sea Ranch Lodge and they had just booked their last room! They referred us to this lodge and even called them to make sure there was a room left.
We arrived about 930 or so and the kitchen was closed already, we were really hungry and there wasn't anything nearby that we could get some grub at. The manager was extremely nice & accommodating. He made us a salad and gave us two desserts!
We got a room with a deck that looked out towards the front of the property and over to the ocean. The deck also included a jacuzzi which the manager warmed up for us right away when we started heading to the lodge so it was nice & warm when we arrived!
The staff was really nice!!!!
The locals that come to the bar were extremely nice as well, they gave us tips about the area and were very friendly! :)
This place was awesome! And I highly recommend it if you're in the area and need a place to stay.
We had dinner and stayed overnight here (Ocean Cove Lodge) because of the Yelp reviews, and were not disappointed!
I ordered the Salmon Fish & Chips, and the Mrs. ordered the Salmon Penne Peccati, and they were both to die for!
They had an outstanding special drink menu and I ordered the German Chocolate Cake. The bartender Tim knew how to make these great drinks from his time spent in Brazil, and although it took a little bit of instruction for me as to how to properly drink this concoction with the lemon, rim seasonings and liquor, OMG was it delicious!
We can hardly wait for an excuse to go back, and the overnight lodging was first rate as well. Had our own fire stove in our room which was very romantic.
Oh, and they had incredible musicians playing on this Tuesday evening  while we were there. Awesome blues guitars and vocals filled the room the entire time through our dinner, so Tuesday's are a good night to go catch the drop in musicians if you can make it.
This is an unpretentious but wonderful gem of a restaurant. Â Views of the Pacific can be seen from just about every seat in the house. Â I had the cod sandwich, which was good, and the clam chowder, which was great. Â The waiter was a good one, and funny, too. Â Service was good. Â The atmosphere is just like dining at home with a few dozen of your closest friends. Â While there, we met the owner and the cook and the manager, and they are all personable. Â We will be going back some day.
Review Source:My boyfriend and I came upon this little gem by chance on a road-trip up the california coast. Â We had no idea what we were about to encounter, but we were pleasantly surprised.
The menu at this restaurant was simple, but sometimes less is more. Â The waiter recommended the calamari as an appetizer, and it was fantastic. Â I know what you're thinking... you can get calamari anywhere, but the calamari here was exceptional! Â It's pretty rare to find salmon fish-and-chips, but not only did they have it, but they pulled it off well! Â
Possibly the most enjoyable thing about this little restaurant was the friendly staff.  I cannot remember his name at the moment, but the middle-aged gent from Germany was awesome.  He was very knowledgable, friendly and gave us advice about the road ahead and the area without being overwhelming.  One more thought... the way the bar is set up is lovely because it faces the ocean.  Having a cold micro-brew while  watching the sun set is better than the Superbowl.
Definitely stop off at this place if you get a chance... see for yourself!
Worth the drive from wherever you are. Â The owners are people you want as friends - they are committed to making the food, the service, and the experience a great one for both locals and visitors. Â The regular menu has high quality offerings, and the dinner specials are superb. Â The rooms are very comfortable, newly re-done, and oh so reasonably priced. Â This is the kind of place that offers the beauty of the ocean views and the beauty of good people. Â A winning combo, and rare.
Review Source:Don't miss this stop on your way along the Sonoma coast line, about ten minutes North of Jenner near Fort Ross. Fantastic ocean view from the bar or outside on the patio. Prices are very reasonable, menu is great...I had the beer batter Salmon fish and chips, home made recipe by owners Tamara and Bill. Pass up the other places and stop at Ocean Cove...you won't be disappointed
Review Source:Solid diner food at a reasonable price on Hwy 1 about half-way up the lonesome road between Jenner and Gualala. Menu is pretty basic - chowder, chili, fish and chips, sandwiches, etc. Friendly staff and lots of locals, beautiful bar with a view to the ocean. This place was formerly the Salt Point Lodge and Bar and Grill but went out of business and was shuttered for years. Newly renovated and worth a stop. Much less expensive than the nearby Timber Cove Inn (both the restaurant and the lodging) but aimed at a different clientele of course.
