Stumbled over - Â through the bumping River Boat Days crowd - from Ben's, thanks to the beautiful glow of its neon (-- Yanknton being able to boast a grand collection of fluorescence, with O'Malley's representing but the tip of that Missouri-borne ice-berg).
Their well whiskey was well enough, at least once it was (very) well-watered. Â They had some beers, bottled and by draught. Â It appears that, at least sometimes, they may have had food; certainly they had the chafing-dishes to keep something warm. Â There was music. Â It was oddly bright inside, but incandescent, and not the cool, crisp neon of their marquis. Â And for a minute it was damn packed with people.
All summed, I imagine O'Malley's to be a hopping little dive, even outside of the starry hustle and bustle of River Boat Days; and, while it won't explode your perceptions like those River Boat Days fireworks over the Missouri, it's not a bad little spot to drop by for a couple cheap ones (especially if Ben's is blowing up down the way). Â Just let the lovely neon be your personal, pulsating Sacagawea.
