O'neil's (pub) is found in an oldish building along Fairview Road in Mint Hill - not along Fairview Road in South Charlotte. An old building, an Irish-named pub and St. Paddy's day? Total win, right? Not so fast.
While the staff is friendly, and the bar has a reasonable selection, the food is probably not the best. Just about everything comes out of the ready-to-eat section of the freezer. It doesn't make it bad, just not what you would be expecting. Somewhat surprisingly, the hamburger is actually pretty tasty, with slaw and chili to boot (my vote is due to the chili - it is apparently one of the items that is home made).
Otherwise, the company is solid and make sure you bring cash - or can run to the ATM at the bank down the street (they do have one, but it will charge you), as they don't take credit cards.
