O'Sheckys LIVE was what I expected visually speaking. Â It went far beyond as far as what my head told me before walking in the doors for my first visit last night for LIVE music. Â Great job!
Don't let the outside of O'Sheckys fool you. Â The tattoo parlor sign on one window disguises what is a good size place for music and meet-up place. Â Good stage at one end on risers, small dance floor and a fair amount of seating. Â A very long bar running on the right-hand wall from front to back, seating maybe 30 or a few more.
So I grabs my cocktail and get a seat at the bar's end to watch some LIVE rock 'n roll and expect to be blown out of the water with sound. Â Nuh uh.... nothing could be farther from the truth. Â A guy who I'm sure was management and who was running the sound board and lights kept the levels accomodating to attendees. Â Being in the back of the pub and maybe 40 paces from the stage... I could hear conversation and enjoy music... in a small place. Â Excellent!
There is a long patio-type area in the front of O'Sheckys and loads of patrons and muscians congregate there after sets. Â And a big SHOUT OUT for cleanliness. Â Can't speak for women but the men's room was nearly spotless and had plenty of go-too areas for relief. Â Hey! Â That's a plus!
Smallish bar. Â Great sound. Â Fun people. Â O'Sheckys seems to be doing well and should be a fan favorite among the Columbus north side live music scene. Â Do it!
Not a bad place to hang out and check out a show.
I went here for a free show alil while back and enjoyed myself. It's a pretty small venue and you can meet the bands afterwards. Drinks are reasonably priced and they are discounted during happy hour times (which I believe lasts til 9). Ex) Miller bottles $2.50 during Happy Hour and then $3 post-HH.
I'd say if you have a chance to go see a live show or just need somewhere to chill for a few beers, this is a good place to swing by. Also, there's a movie theater and a club real close if you want to mix up the night alil bit.
